Has anybody ever done this?
Know guys who use sharpies, works fine.I like fire tiger, chartuese black back,or parrot(as matt stated)in muddy water.I would go with Colorado blades on chartuese and blue skirted spinnerbait. But I would probally concentrate on dark colored plastics with good action and definatley a black and blue jig.Just some subjestions. Also you may want to try shaking a jig or worm.Give it alot of action without moving it far. Good Luck Cj

Largemouths vs. Spotted Bass
It appears that you are holding a LM.Spots have a small toothpatch on their tongue. The jawline does not exceed past the eye on a spot. Thus giving a spot a smaller mouth that is meatier so to speak. You could "google" spotted bass biology" and learn alot.

Color and water temperature
To answer one of your questions with my opinion, Does cooler temps mean different colors? Although it may seem that way,I feel that water clarity and seasonal patterns are what helps to determine good lure color selection.

I think he is tippin' em' but it don't matter he's hangin' everything. It's hard to tell what he is doing from the rear camera angle. He just got lucky he didn't hang anything out over the plate tonight.

I with you on that muddy-man da Mets fan...If a starting pitcher could post an era under 2...he would be the MVP! BM7,how do you know Albert or Howard aren't using roids?

Most Versatile Bass boat?
I would look for a dealer that might even have a new 05 model left. The deal is if a dealer has boats left he needs to clear them so he doesn't have to keep paying interest on them.If you are paying cash then you should have no problem finding a good 19' boat with what you want.I would definantly check out the Stratos, with alot of the other boats you are paying for a name.I am not sure where you are located but boats are cheaper in some parts as others.

I agree with that too. What I am really trying to say is that a player's chance's are slim if his team doesn't make the playoffs. If your team doesn't make the playoffs then what was his value?I see the Phils are only 1 1/2 games out of the wildcard. If they get in,Howard is the MVP,hands down.

Most Versatile Bass boat?
AT,tried to get some pricing the Stratos.I couldn't hardly find any sites on the net that would give a MSRP.I do know that the MSRP on a 285 XL is about 25,ooo.The 285 is a 18'6" boat that has the hp rate at 150.The 294 or 295 is a 19'6" boat that is rated for 200hp.Both of them are 93" beams. Note that is a subjested retail price. If you are looking to buy a boat soon(before Christmas)you will be doing yourself a favor.Boats are all being cleared right now because of the season.Last year at Gander Mountain I saw them clear a couple 285 for 18,900.I think you would probally be able to find a 294 or 295 for around 25-30. There really is more than a foot difference in the 285 and 294.For one the 294 comes factory with, hotfoot, front and rear depthfinders, and a bigger trolling motor. The biggest difference in the two models are the hp rating.Unless things have changed you can't get a 150 that is fuel injected. You can in a 200.A 150 might top out at 60?The 200 on a 294 should hit 65-70.Your gonna get better hole shot with fuel injection and better gas mileage. The main thing I would keep in mind when it comes to looking for a boat,is don't jump on the first one you see.Look around everywhere.Try to find exactly what you are looking for,No use in spending that much money for something that won't satisfy you.BTW,I would recommend a 200 Mercury XS(good gas mileage, good motor).

I know I am a Stratos owner, but I didn't buy it because it was the first boat I found. You should check out the 294.

I agree,Howard is on fire. But if the Phillies don't win the wild card then he don't get the MVP.Why?Because his batting average. In order for a player to win MVP with out his team going to the playoffs,he needs to be in the top 5 in RBI's,HR,BA,Runs, and Walks.Nobody needs to come near that players accomplishments that season.Just as Dawson did in 87.

hook in the eye
I have caught a few with only one eye(might be why I caught em').One-eyed fish don't die they just swim in circles! ;D If you really wan't to get it out with minimum damage to the fish,I would cut the barb and point off the hook if it were exposed,if not I would expose it and cut it,then just pull it out.Just as if you hooked yourself.

Fall Fishing??
Just a ponder, would photoperiod have anything to do with it? Right now on Ky.Lake(a large river resevoir),baitfish are everywhere.Lot's of them getting nailed in the shallows, lot's of them still hanging around the main lake.I guess it would have something to do with the species, but I am seeing the same size threadfins flippin' everywhere.Another thing I have noticed that in the last 3 or 4 days some baitfish have dropped down in the water column.Yet there is still thoughs balls of threadfins on the surface scattered from the creeks to the main lake. There has been a low pressure system haunting us for a few days now.

I don't know about the ghost of Gibson's past, but the ghost of the Cardinals future just dominated Pittsburg today. He made the NL batting leader look like a little girl :-*!And ofcourse the King of the NL showed all Mets fans why David Wright is not going to be MVP.That's just a little taste of what's to come. Okay seriously, the Cards may be coming togather. When it comes playoff time,it ain't gonna matter what a team did all year. What is going to matter, who's hot and who's not. Who's hot:Reyes and Pujols Who's not:Izzy(somebody needs to do something, seriously!)

Crawling out of my skin this morning !!!
Well I have been fishing a bit lately but I still haven't gotten my fix in a couple of weeks.I haven't caught a fish over 5 lbs. in almost 2 weeks. The lake I fish has been dropping, the weather has been funky, the fish are scattered, and I need a fix.I guess it's like a drunk going to the bar to find out all they have is soda! :-/
-
hmm... netting the fish?
I don't like to try to muscle a bass to the boat for the reason you stated. When bass see the boat they usually go nuts(especially a small jaw).I try to let them do their thing out away from the boat but I don't like to toy with them either.I just let them get a little spunk out and keep my line taught. If you toy with them to much then it can be hard on the fish(I am a C/R guy). Most of what I stated would refer to a quality size bass.I reel dinks in as fast as I can to get them off my hook and my line back in the water.

Bass boat in choppy water?
I would think looking for a late 90's model stratos may be your best bet.For $8500 you probally won't find a 21' boat. From what I have collected the 19' Stratos handles exceptional for a shorter boat. BTW,my 21'Stratos is very quick out of the hole.It might have something to do with the 250 Merc.

Mulder has been lifted off the active roster, thank goodness(looked like he was pitching BP).Reyes has been called up.Suppan is the cards #2 starter.Look at his home record and he has a 2.38 era since the break.Nothing wrong with that.

Starting to feel a bit torn... What would you do?
Well that's a hard call.I am exclusively a LM and SM angler now.Though I have fished for stripers a little(man they fight).I would say just go with your insticts and hopefully your mojo will folllow!

Questions involving Wind & Rain
Very well put,Avid. Wind and rain will affect fishing anytime. That doesn't mean it will always effect it in a negative way nor a positive way.Chances are it will effect the angler both mentally and physically more than it may the fish.Another factor would be how deep you are fishing.Deep fish are less likely to be affected than are shallow fish.
