  1. Funny that George Welcome's clients have done well with a chug bug.My biggest bass on topwaters came on a chug bug(5 1/2 lbs.)not a monster but a good fish on my lake.
  2. I didn't know that. That's funny! You mean he's still alive after Pujols hit him.I think it's rumored that some third basemen are asking to be traded to the AL for fear of Pujols!
  3. Try shooting him a PM.He'll take care of you. You'll love his lures!
  4. Yeah...we really don't like the Yankees or their fans around here! ;DJ/K(about the fans anyway) Don't worry there will be no more homers hit off Izzy this year!
  5. I'm sure it gets colder but I don't bother until it's above 40 on the surface.
  6. Yeah Gman I'm plenty old enough and would love to join ya but my drinkin' days are over.I like Mountain Dew and a good atmosphere though! I think it's going to come down to the Cards and the Mets.I hope it does this thread could hit a 1000 post! Do you know why Mr.Met's head is so big?........From choking!
  7. If Clay never made the Classic it would still make the greatest fishing story ever told.Oh..what am I saying,it is the greastest fishing story ever told!Write the book Clay.....WRITE THE BOOK!!!!
  8. That's great! Clay Dyer, now there is someone worthy of making a movie about!
  9. Oh really?.....Where's this at? ::)J/K I would love to have a pond of my own.You should check into pond managment. Then again you may find that the pond is already managed itself!
  10. I hope your Mets ain't crumbling,Muddy! ;D
  11. Well I guess the Giants are glad to see the rain in St.Louis.The one thing the Mets better watch out for if it comes down to it in the playoffs is that the Cards are "Big Game Pitcher" killers. Then again the Cards only got one big gamer.
  12. Oh yeah, one other thing, there's this blonde that lays out every Saturday....oh never mind. :
  13. I just wonder if they will be able to sign Ben Stiller or Chris Katan to plat the role as Ike? ;D
  14. My PB smallmouth was 25",it weighed 4 lbs. 13 oz.It was one skinny fish.
  15. The biggest thing that screws me up is not getting a bite.
  16. On my home lake,10 ft. is considered deep though we catch them 20-30 ft. when it gets real hot. Some of the deeper lakes I have fished,20-30 ft. ain't nothin'.I caught some smallmouth 40-50 ft. deep draggin' a jig on bottom.I guess the fish don't know that crawdfish don't dwell deeper than 20 ft.
  17. Plum,green-pumkin,and junebug red flake.
  18. Well the Cards won a good game tonight.Pujols just proved once again why he will be the MVP(25th game winning RBI).This game may be a the start of something!
  19. I like skipping jigs up under a dock. But I also like traps and spinners.Another neat little trick that will almost always draw a strike is with a deep diving Flat-A.This takes practice and works best on shallow docks.Take 2 Flat A's slightly bend the eyelet on the line tie(one to the right and one left),this is so you can fish both sides of the dock. This will cause the crank to run on its side and under the dock.Once it is under there it will go down, hit the bottom then up and hit the bottom of the dock.Just a little trick I was shown by a pro.It can drive them wild!
  20. We are pulling away from the Reds but the Astros were catching up.It looks like the Cards are about to gain one on them though. The Cards are going to win their division but they don't look good for the playoffs. How many series have they won since August 1st?Not many and that's not good.We will just have to see. Muddy, your right,I just look at the National league most of the time.I'll worry about the Tigers when the Cards get there.Which will probally not be this year. Well Carpenter just did his thing(complete game shutout)looks like it will be about 5 days before we win again.
  21. Could you be more specific with the lake you are inquiring about. Lakes in Florida ,for example, have nearly no structure.Lakes all have their own structural make up of some sort. They may be one big soup bowl with vegetation or may be a big rocky river resevoir with all kinds of structure. Help us, help you!
  22. First off, welcome to the forum. As for your question: Before I ever get on new water, this being a lake,I look for info at tackle stores, the web, etc.I always get a topographical map and search out, according to info gathered, what I may be looking for. Now,if you are talking about a smaller lake that topos and info aren't availible,it's going to depend on season and/or weather and water temps. Okay, let's say I'm going in totally blind,I would be observing my depth finder for structure(ledges, points, and humps)and baitfish. Then I am going to observe the surface and banks for baitfish and take a look at what the birds are doing. If you could be more specific, you would get better feedback. Cj
  23. Okay,I'm a Cards fan, right. But they are not pulling away.Houston is closing in!The Cards better get it togather. They may make the playoffs because the other teams in their division played so poorly. Muddy's Mets are going to be the team to beat. We'll just have to see.
  24. Good post,LBH.Class is what it's about.
  25. Looks like you got plenty of replies on that fish's weight.Regardless, that's a nice fish. So,did she put up a good fight, jump, tailwalk? And by the way,Welcome to Bass Resource! Cj
