One of my pb came from using a lipless crank this time of year. I usauly use the winter time to practice using baits I normally don't use often. Like a jig I never was very good with one but this year I'm going to use one and keep using it until I get decent at it. Jerkbaits work well I you let them soak for a while. Or atleast they worked for me well.

Out of curiosity why was jumping illeagal then. I have never skied or know much about it. What little I have watched it I always seen them jump in some form. I'm not doubting what you say just curious.

When I worked at a boys prison some of the stories I heard them kids talk almost made me sick. Every sunday was visiting day and one kid never got a visit from his family the whole time that he had been there. Some how we got to talking why he never had a visit from his family, I thought and I said to him was it because it was his family lived 200+ miles away. He said no even if it was two miles away they wouldn't come. He said they could care less as far as they are concearned he was one less mouth to feed. The kids were supposed to tell us there life stories as a part of the program. One that I remember well is a boy was in there for kidnapping a girl at his school and holding here at gunpoint. I asked why. He said he had to get away from his parents. Of course I asked why and he begin to tell me how his parents would beat him with there sex toys and lock him in the closet for hours at a time. He said I always got beat. Well being that he said they beat him with sex toys I really didn't beleve him, because they do lie to get atten and he laughed a little telling the story. So after checking into it myself I found out he was telling the truth and he even held back on some things. His worthless parents would lock him outide and wouldn't let him in didn't matter what kind of weather. Sorry to say alot of kids there was there because there parents just plain didn't care. Some was there because they seen a way out from their abusive parents. In fact they would act up and get in trouble just so they would have to stay until they was 18 so they wouldn't have to go back.. I just thought I would share what some kids go through out there. I know it's a little off topic Some kids have really bad out there. I think discipline them when needed and being fair and honest goes along way with kids. The kids I worked with had none off this

Same for us too. Dec is always bad for us anyway. I have taxes to pay this month as well. Also my wife graduates school next week but I had to pay $200 for her to take her final exam or something like that. I stated I like to have a new mattews bow but thats going to be a while. To be honest though I like the time with the family thats the best gift I could get so I'm happy

I got a few swats in school and by my parents and I'm glad I did. I worked at a juvenile prison for boys. To make things short I will let you guess why they got into trouble so much and was placed there. The majority of them could have been corrected very early on in life if they just had a good spankin. My thoughts is Fishing reel - Golf club, rocket science figuring out the differance between them I would hope not. By the off chance they goofed up at the loading dock, well I guess they need to invest in some training or qaulity control on the shipping procedures. I'm all for the honesty thing but how hard is it really to ensure someone is being sent the right item. Sounds to me someone was too lazy to check the order papers and just sent whatever wherever Being that it is Dicks dosen't surprise me. I asked guy who was working in the hunting/fishing dept one time if they had the new curados that had just come out and he said yes pointing to the old models in the case.

I have been burned out for a while now. I have been fishing once since labor day and I really didn't hardly fish at all then. And the last time I went before that was around june. For one I had alot going on and didn't have time to go or I wanted to go and just didn't feel like messing with it. I kinda hoped I would be ready to roll by now but I haven't. I probally have only been around 20 times this season give or take a couple.

Seeing how I don't live near the ocean and my cares about distingusihing ocean going creatures apart from one another equal a big rat's hairy rear, I'm going with avid on this one. It's a shark.

If I remember right about that reveiw the BPS brand was supposesd to be the best. I don't remember Cabela's ratings. As for my ratings I havn't found a Flurocarbon line I have liked yet so I don't even use it anymore.

I started off using BPS rods and they worked good. But after upgrading to St Criox then upgrading to Loomis after them I haven't looked back at BPS rods. Never used cabela's rods.

I tried it once for bass and I didn't care for it. It was messy, had a heck of a time getting it on the hook without getting hooked. and just a high maintenace bait IMO having to keep it wet. But seeing how so many have had so much luck catching catfish with it. I have a freind I go fishing with and thats all he fishes for is catfish I will give it a try agin for catfish not for bass though.

You said the hazards are fished by other people. Maybe they aren't catching and releasing that could explaing why your not catching the sizes you once caught. People are keeping the big ones Just a thought
