  1. There is a reason I don't bring a scale with me when I'm not in a tournament situation haha. It's only March and they've just moved up in the last few days, it'll be a good year.
  2. 6'1" and 240lb, want the ssn too? haha
  3. What are y'all's guesses to weight? Guy who took this picture said 8, but there it no way, I could fit both of my fists in it's mouth though, so it's a bigg'un. Probably my new PB either way. I'll add a length measurement later (I marked it on my rod).
  4. I've got a D684cb and it's the bomb. I can chuck a jerkbait across the lake with that rod. It's got just the right amount of backbone and tip to cast, twitch and keep the fish pinned.
  5. Best I've seen is like $20 off. I can get you a $10 coupon for DSG/F&S if you PM me haha.
  6. The 735 and 736 are great chatterbait rods, especially if that Dobyn's deal is still available. However, I'd really like to hear more about the new SC glass rods!
  7. It'll be great for texas rigs and jigs. I assume you are talking about the Mach II combo, and not the Mach Speed Stick (the rod that comes with the combo)?
  8. I'd save up a bit more cash and grab either a Lew's Lite G, or a Flooger Supreme XT, they're both pretty light.
  9. Law of diminishing returns, you're going to pay more and more for the next percentile in quality and sensitivity. Personally, I can't drag jigs on anything other than my Dobyn's Extreme. Would I shell out that kind of money for a cranking rod or a topwater rod? Lord no.
  10. I guess ill give the seaguar a try, ive got a free spool of tactical though haha
  11. Grabbing one of the Wally Marshall rods soon, 7' ML/MF, going to use it for crappie, but I was just wondering what else it might be good for? Thinking small cranks and spinnerbaits? Good pond rod perhaps?
  12. Great breaking strength. I used 10# for cranking for awhile, I like it, but I figured I'd just try something new. May pick it up again for my spinning reel.
  13. I need some 6# FC for my crappie reel, I figure enough bass guys use 6#. I hate using straight FC on spinning reels, so what in your experience has the least memory? Since P-Line Tactical is BOGO at F&S rn, I'll probably buy that, but I'd like to know what you guys think.
  14. Lightest reel you want to pay for, I just bought a Shimano Nexave 1000 size since it was like 70% off. That Wally Marshall rod is legit. I'll be buying one with my next paycheck, it comes in 7' and 6'6", get which ever you prefer. I'm actually about to post a question about that rod.
  15. When do you guys use a trailer over a trailer hook? My secondary question is related to the trailer hook, with lethargic fish or colder water, would you opt for a trailer hook? My assumption is that colder water means shorter strikes.
  16. I'll go ahead and clarify what I may mean by finesse cranks. Something smaller and with a tighter wobble (probably). Like a Shad rap or perhaps the little john md. Something you would use in colder water or on pressured waters.
  17. What're your go to finesse cranks? I just bought some shad raps and glass raps today at F&S.
  18. The weed guard got in the way of my hook sets too much, I trimmed it down and I lost many less fish.
  19. We have Nexaves for $30 (50% off) at F&S I bought one... BC it was an easy way to appease the monkey
  20. @*Hank What did you end up using this for? I came across the same rod new for about $60, I couldn't say no to that! I figure I'd use it for heavier jigs and frogs.
  21. Since no one has said anything, the guides on my D684cb are relatively the same compared to my other rods. Might be a hair smaller, but I think that may have something to do with the fact it's only 6'8 and has 9 guides perhaps?
