Its hard to say since that pond looks very monotonous. Id fan cast parallel to the bank anx work my way deeper. My baits of choicr would be spinnerbait, chatterbait, crankbait, jerkait.

I have never had anything but the best experience witu their customer service. Im very happy to that we have had similar experiences, both as a collegiate representative of Lews and as a salesman who pushes their product.

Let me know what you think! I'm questioning if it's gonna be too heavy for a 1/4 chatterbait. And I don't fish much grass in Illinois, so I don't need a heavier rod. You happy with the length? And are you happy with the heavy, or would you prefer the MH 735?

I probably got it ehhhh 6, maybe 7 years ago? What do you think it was worth?

I've been using a mojo glass rod for my chatterbaits and the glass really does make a difference in my opinion. I've briefly used a 765cb glass, and I'll be borrowing it for some more "rigorous study." But what are your opinions on the glass rods for chatterbaits? They make them in 7', 7'3" and 7'6", and in both 5 and 6 powers.

I'm get rid of a few old (like 4 yrs old) rods, and I don't even remember what I paid for them, or what they'd be worth. I guy in my club wants my 7'0" M/XF e21 Carrot Stix PG. Anyone have any idea what they went for? I wanna say they were like $120.

Ive heard thay their spinning rods are truer to their markings. I dont have a Sierra 703, but from what ive read here, if anyone has a Dobyn's spinning rod, its either a 703 or a 743. Dont be afraid to call them up and ask, theyre all very knowledgeable about their product. Theyll sell you the rod you need.

Dobyn's makes some great cranking sticks, you can even get a fury 705cb for $110. Otherwise youll have to move up to the champion series for a cranking rod. I currently only use 2, but I plan on grabbing a FR705cb for everything but squarebills and the deepest divers. I use a D684cb for my sqarebills and jerkbait. I feel its a tad too light, but i have no really problems. Im currently in a some what permenant possesion of a D806cb and its a great diving crankbait rod, I use it primarily for 6-10XDs. Id recommend the Fury 705cb, itll do the job for a lot less money. If you do want to shell out some bucks, check out the D685cb.

That might have a different action. Ive got a dx745 (non-HP). I think the 735 might be a bit faster, as the fury is designed to be a frog rod. But either way, i have full trust in the staff nd developers at Dobyn's to make the right rods.

I've been meaning to ask this for quite some time now. Does anyone know of some software that will record info from the weigh in? Last year I just used excel and it worked, but I'd like something a bit more professional looking and a little more reader friendly. Worst case scenario is I spend this weekend writing a script and make it myself.

It's a bit heavy (at 20lb test) for my liking, but at that price I'd say why not try it. H@ll, you'd probably resell it if you wanted to.

I've generally used Abrazx for my jigs. I recommend Red Label to those that want a more affordable FC, and if they have a higher price point, can't beat that Tatsu.

703 is a very versatile rod. The difference between the Champion and Sierra is going to be mostly in sensitivity. They are pretty close in weight and balance. From what I've heard around the forums, the sierra has a bit more of a softer taper than the champion, so take that into account.

I've been known to throw 10xds on my SC Premier Muskie rod. But muskie are a much different game. Buy either the Fury or an D805/6cb first, then buy the other.

I am currently using Sunline Assassin 10lb. I will use this until the summer where i'll change it up. I got a free spool of P-Line Tactical 10lb, so I'll try that.

I've heard more good things about the Avids than the Sierras, and this is coming from a die-hard Dobyn's guy. The Avids are some great rods, and I think they've got a better spinning rod than Dobyn's. See if you can get a refurbished Savvy from their website. A better deal is always welcome.

I'd make the call depending on the water clarity. I've recently tried braid and a moderate rod and it's great. I used to use 12# FC and now I use 40# braid.

I like the ability to be a fisherman in it's truest form and brag about how big it could have been hahaha. I marked it's length on my rod, it was 23".
