  1. normal practice.........ask the salesman to break down the "3 prices", BPS deals enough to know what you need. I bought my boat from BPS (used avalanche for 15 K) prices were around..... boat 6k, motor 7500, trailer trailer 1500. I have progressive insurance, $40 bucks a month, when I totaled my trailer they cut me a check for 3K. (replacement value) only real advice I can give.....GET A MARINE POLICY!
  2. i have never caught a female then....
  3. insurance , mine is $40 per month storage, mine is $42 a month .....this is just to park it in "open lot" inside the gates and under a camera. I keep it covered.
  4. but thats not shipped price. If I overlooked it please link me cause I too googled it. Cheapest I found was 169 shipped from anywhere near a legit place. ( I have ordered from shady places before)
  5. ^^^ THIS, Brian had the lowest SHIPPED price of anywhere I look when I bought my 1198
  6. just searched for NoDak Outdoors and found nothing.....would love to find a place to buy tournament pros at a great price
  7. it was an alabama rig reference.......the Orginal mann's alabama rig.......if you use that phrase Manns has been known to sue you, lmao.
  8. I dont mind getting off ebay....as long as it is new, and I can still get the warrentee. i never can find them new for less that $160 +/- and with shipping it still $170. but you can find them on the boards for $105-$130 used.
  9. lews is great! all my reels are lews tournament, or tournament pro for $80 sounds like you got a Speed Spool, great reel. I would say it is the best reel under $100.
  10. what exactly does this do for you?
  11. different strokes different folks! LOL
  12. I got a Bucoo with those specs, and would never think about it for a spinnerbait. not enough tip for me. maybe since the guy is in your club you can tie a spinnerbait to it and borrow it for a few hours one day.
  13. I am trying to Decide on what rod to get. DX742 SF DX743 SF would it even be thinkable to look at the casting rods with the same numbers? I fish a lot of cypress trees type lakes. I would think I would use this around docks too. So it would not be open water, but not heavy cover either. 80% of the time in water less than 10- 12 foot. would think I would use 8 pound flouro, but I guess I could do 10 as well. more than anything I want to make sure I could turn a fat 4 pounder if I needed to. thanks
  14. windblow banks, bluff banks, bluff banks with channel swings, backside of points , end of points, flip shallow trees, drag gravel bars. really anywhere. at those temps fish could be in both shallow and deep. I would think they are for sure on the "highway migation routes" they use to possibly really start moving up.
  15. I only Buy the Rage Craw, if I want the chunk I just bite 75% +/- off....

  17. all that did is prove I will never be a bed fisherman, LOL
  18. I cant find the chart, but if you go to a store (bps ect.) they should have the brochure that has it in it. That being said I have summed it down to this........Blue lens for offshore, high sunlight............Green lens for inshore normal light.......amber for normal everday good mix. I have a pair of Maya10 blue lens 580G.....frame dont fit me well, so I need to get another frame. also have Harpoon in the 580P amber, love the frame and the lens........but MUCH RATHER have the 580G, as the glass lens is just where its at. always get the glass if you can. Remember, ALWAYS try several frames on, as each frame is a different size and fits the head a bit different. I think I found the frame for me, which is the Harpoon. and sooner or later I will get blue, green, and amber glass with that frame. good luck with your search for your perfect glasses!
  19. I think costa has a chart somewhere, lens matched to condintions. get all 3 and have it covered......yes there is a sunglass monkey too!
  20. on the lews, they are shipped with all the Centriugal turned off right? meaning you have to click/push them in to turn on?
  21. I am a new fisherman that enjoys buying quality gear and using it to its fullest. I have questions on the braking systems, and what each one of them actually do. I hear lots of.... "can throw a 1/4oz crank 50 yds..."......much of which I think might be BS, but I have no clue. 1. what other than rod tip, line size, and lure weight determines cast distance? 2. the tabs on the inside? what do they do, and how they do it? 3. brake knob on outside , behind the handle? what does it do? 4. dial on "palm side" ? what does it do? what do each one of these do and the effect on distance?? I am using lews tournament speed spools and they have all 3 brakes. though I just ordered 2 tournament pro speed spools.... point is I don't think gear is the issue, but I ready to be corrected if needed, just want to make sure I get all I can get out of my gear. thanks
  22. that is a big fear..... with so many new people going to Pickwick (i never been but will this year HOPE) how many people will mount/eat the lucker they were lucky enough to land....... seen/heard many lakes get LOTS of attention, only to be 5 years later not be able to catch shorts.
  23. if it is rods fault yes. if you snap it off in a boat cleat like I did, no.
  24. Listen to River rat.......his jigs DONT chip, period.
