  1. I've been hunting local ponds around Christiansburg and playing around with the senko (new to the technique). Catching little guys.
  2. Well that is a hell of a way to start the day. Enjoy and tight lines.
  3. I was out there about an hour or so. And yes it's a farm pond, don't know anything about it today was only my second time there. Found it on google maps while my wife was in surgery, went out and look at that there are fish. Still trying to figure out whose property it is on so I can ask for permission to fish it, and hopefully I'll be able to figure more info out about it.
  4. Update: Went out again today with the bite slowing but I managed these two fishing the 5" senko weightless again. This guy was a beast to bring in; if he hadn't hit it 2 feet from the shore I might not of got him in ( I was fishing on my UL setup today) 1.5# Quite accidental, through across the Pond andgot stuck in a tree afar popping it out of the tree I was trying to get the senko to sink but The algae on top wasn't allowing it. Figuring the cast was a wash I started to reel it in got about two feet of the shore and the senko dropped I a soft spot a boom fish on. This one was on the first cast.
  5. This is what they sent back to me about the quiz. Daryl, We are getting them sent out this week. You should receive the sample pack soon. Thanks, Lance Lynch Lazer TroKar
  6. I lose a lot of tackle. I also fish from shore so I don't have a lot of chances in recovery. I also took a long hiatus from fishing and haven't gotten my accuracy back yet so that is a lot of my problem.
  7. Congrats bud. Looks like a nice one. Can't give you any ideas on the weight though sorry.
  8. My favorite fishing partner is someone who owns a boat and asks me aboard lol. I like to fish with people who fish different techniques than I do so I can learn the technique by watching and not have to invest in the gear until I know it looks like something I would like to do.
  9. Currently in Southwest Va. Fishing isn't bad here just not pulling out fish like the ones in this thread also like the access you all have to ponds.
  10. Told my wife we are goin to have to move to Jacksonville. She wasn't impressed with my rationale.
  11. Same thing happened to me. I sent them an email to see if they received my info. Will post if I hear anything.
  12. Went out today for about 30 minutes, not much but first time I has any chance since my wife's surgery. Caught these two: I know they aren't that big but I went to a pond I have never fished, and fished a lure and technique I have never used. I was fishing a weightless t-rigged 5" senko dead sticking it into the weeds. Needless to say I need some work on it but I am sold on senkos. To catch fish on a foreign pond that was so stained with algae I couldn't identify structure if I wanted got me real excited. Managed to lose three but I am now confident in this lure and technique. I want to thank all of you who have been answering my questions about plastics and thank the entirety of BR for the info. I could never have fished this pond with any of my usual gear. Thanks again guys.
  13. Thanks to those who posted they got hooks today, popped this thread up as new, so I went and did the survey and quiz. Hopefully they will be in soon. Thanks again guys
  14. Glad you had a blast. Hopefully in a few years I'll be able to take my daughter.
  15. I feel for you. My oldest sounds exactly like yours. Perfect angel until this year. I spank her, and she cries about how we hurt her feelings. I hate to spank, coming from a very abusive past, it breaks my heart every time, but it seems to be the only thing that gets her attention some times. I will say that I don't spank in public, because of the same reason you mentioned in your story. I think it is a shame. I understand watching out for the welfare of children but a small spanking isn't going to hurt them probably build a little character. Hope it works out for you I find the miracle to keep her well behaved I will let everyone know.
  16. I am putting it on my calendar. I am goin to try to make it, seems like to much fun to pass up but we will see.
  17. Congrats to the little man. That is an impressive day of fishing.
  18. Glad to see this post. I stared at those frogs for 20 minutes and finally talked myself out of them. Will have to pick one up next time I'm there.
  19. Was hoping for some around claytor lake or the NRV where I live. I have a wife and two very young kids so traveling to SML is a little difficult.
  20. Unfortunately it is long ago released.
  21. Congrats and welcome.
  22. Great trip. Looked like a lot of fun.
  23. That's crazy. Good for him.
  24. Thanks again for the advice guys. Hopefully some of this will help me out.
