  1. Welcome and happy retirement.
  2. If you can't find the faceplate that has the capacity stated on it, but all vessels under 19 feet manufactured after 1971 where required to have a manufactures plate attached. My guess is it is under one of the decks. It will be a small silver plate typically in the bow of the boat. But if you just can't find it you multiply the length x width and divide by 15. Do this in inches. So say the boat is 14 ft by 4 ft. It would be 168 x 48 / 15 = 537 lbs This is a ballpark figure that will help give you an idea. This is not the manufactures specifications. Remember to never overload your boat and take in account weather, wind, and waves when packing as these factors greatly effect bouyuncy.
  3. I was wondering if rebuilding a carb. is something easy enough for me to do. I am mechanically inclined and have a full assortment of tools as well as access to a fully stocked shop. I got the worked priced out an it, although a good price (250.00), is a little more than i have to spend. If i was to do it myself i would pay about 50.00 for the kit and cleaning supplies. I have a 1967 Merc 500 50 HP outboard and when it runs it runs but I have problems losing the motor in low speeds, i.e. the carb is dirty and it isn't getting enough fuel. I was hoping any off you could give me a little advice. I can't trust my boat right now and I would love to actual fish in it sometime in the near future. Thanks
  4. Guess we will have to stop you at 6 then.
  5. Nice pictures. Makes me want break out my camera.
  6. Ohh. Maybe I can get some of the kool aid.
  7. That's awesome too. Fisherman and crime fighter. Guess if we start having a rash I thefts I'll have to get you to come down to stop them.
  8. Seems like adding logos would detract from your actual sponsors and possibly aggravate them.
  9. Think that will come standard on the next model?
  10. Nice gear nice shots. The Canon AF has always been a little hinky. I have similar problems on my 50d
  11. When I lived in Alabama everything would shut down at the prediction of snow. We are talking schools, local government everything. You wouldn't be able to find bread or milk in the grocery stores. It was crazy.
  12. I would think if the goal was catch and release and not harming the fish removing the barbs from the hooks would be better than removing one of the hooks. Just my .02
  13. Nice pics. What gear did you use?
  14. Nice fish. Glad to see the winter isn't keeping you down, of course it is fl.
  15. Congrats bud. Glad to see you got the money back. Sucks you had to go through so much.
  16. You definately want to get 8gb of ram the newer operating system don't handle very well on 4, don't bother with the upgrading unless they will do it in store same day. Look for the biggest chipset you can afford. These days I is difficult to find anything that isn't dual or quad core. These are rated in MHz the bigger number is faster. Sometimes it will be a faster machine with fewer cores. AMD make some good proccessors and are typically cheaper for the same or better processing speed. If you are looking to do any light gaming you probably don't want an integrated graphic proccessor, both amd and nvidia make good units. Tigerdirect.com and Newegg.com have great selection and good prices. You might also look at refurbished machines. Avoid HP, Gateway, and IMO dell. Let me know if you have any questions.
  17. That is great. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Just realized I am late to this party. Ignore the comment on the already decided discussion.
  19. Don't forget Snakeheads are capable of overland migration. Adding snakeheads poses a risk to any bodies of water remotely close to this pond.
