  1. nice man. i had tournament at mcclure in january and did pretty good, the bites been good lately. same with pedro but havent heard much about melones and pardee. lol yea millerton and pineflat are tough lakes to fish, very tough. do you have dates set for your trip?
  2. yea 15lbs of bass. went out again to the kings in lemoore wednsday and had 20 pounds, kicker was a 7.5. i had a tournament at pineflat and got stomped, winning weight was only a bit over 7 pounds. fishing was toouugh. i fish the san jouquin at sycamore island but launch my pond boat n head up river a bit and the fishing is a lot better. theres been 8 and 9 pounders caught out of that area. its a good area to fish, just hard to fish if your fishing from the bank but once you find that spot, its on. the 8 and 9 pounders were caught off the bank. i have a 2 day tournament coming up at don pedro on the 24-25. from the research ive done so far, the bite has been good. if the weather stays warm its gonna killer!
  3. i saw it on sale at dicks sporting goods for 9.99 today so i picked up the 16# for my jig rod. ive used it in rocks, laydowns, stumps, grass, you name it and it has performed amazingly! no issues. yea i agree its really small diameter to pound test, supple, ggreat knot strength, as well as strength in general, this stuff is by no means second class.
  4. anyone else use this stuff? its pretty freakin awesome. it has really exceeded my expectations.
  5. hmm thats weird, all i use is lews reels never had an issue with either. i wonder why that happened.
  6. used my buddies for flippin and pitchin, great rod.

you guys think jb weld would be good for securing a weedguard?
  12. sunline super fluorocarbon. 15.99/200 yards. this stuff is not junk, trust me. its some great some.
  13. i just started tying jigs monday (ill post pics soon) and got a chance to use them today after work for a few hours and they performed great! did they outperform other jigs? id say yea but not by much at all. i think i caught a few more fish using the jig i tied due to the fact that i was able to put the skirt together with colors that were best for the waters i fished as opposed to having to settle for something close like ive been doing. i think thats the advantage of tying jigs yourself, you get exactly what you want. im new to this so i cant really say much but these are just my opinions on the matter.
  14. whaaaaaaattt???!!!! man i wish there was a gander here in ca.
  15. lmao that is awesome. makes me want a son so he can accidently rat me out when i buy new rods, reels, and everything else lol
  16. do your research before joining a club. you can find clubs with a lot of great fisherman who arent complete ****** bags. thats one problem with bass fishing, there are a looot of jerks in the tourny circuits that think theyre classic champs yet have never fished any tourny other than the aba, motherload, or anglers choice. so yea, call the club presidents and talk to them, find out as much as you can about that club and its members and then decide accordingly.
  17. lews tourny pro without a doubt. all lews reels are just, amazing!
  18. lol i gotcha covered man. this rig is gonna demolish some bass real soon.
  19. lmao! yes u do flippin and pitchin. im gettin both the rod and reel on the 20th and cannot wait! just in time for the 2 day tourny on the 24th and 25th. i think im gonna spool up some 14lb sunline sniper, maybe 20 havent decided =)
  20. awesome thank you guys. looks like my dobyns champ 735c is gettin paired with a 7:1 lews tournament speed spool lol
  21. just wondering if this would be good. i know a lot guys like 7:1 ratio reels for flippin/pitchin but just curious about usin it for jigs, anywhere from deep water to pitchin. i ask cus ive heard that you lose winching power with high speed reels. any facts, opinions, or suggestions are welcome. thanks guys.
  22. yea i agree with every response here. the speed spools are ridonkulous! ive got 2, a tourny pro, a tourny ss, and they all perform amazing! ive never used the laser mg but ive handled one and it felt great so im sure theyre every bit as good.
  23. vicious is awesome, seriously. its just as good if not better than some of the other fluoros on the market. only con is the diameter in the heavier lb test lines (20-25) but as ive seen, berkley 100% isthe same way so by all means give vicious a try you wont regret it.
  24. no problem at all bassn blvd. glad i could help.
  25. lews all the way. they just feel better, tighter tolerances, amazingly smooth, light, function flawlessy, and theyre customer service is also top notch. lews was the first to produce low pro baitcasters, theyve got a proven track record, just ask guys who have their first models. id go with lews, not that shimano or abu is junk, just that lews are imo in a class of their own.
