  1. You forgot "minnow","dink" and "fry"
  2. At 7:45 this a.m. (when spring began) I was blowing 3 ft. drifts out of my driveway with 25-30 mph gusts blowing it right back in my face. I love spring.
  3. Find a tube bait that is as close to the color of the crawfish in your steam and fish it with the smallest tube jig that will keep you on the bottom. Best smallie bait that I know of.
  4. I quietly use all 15 Shimano reels, 10 curados and 5 stradics. All are over 7 years old. All mounted on St.Croix rods. I guess I'm too old to let the rod/reel monkey chase me around.
  5. Bandit 200 series in springcraw or redcraw.
  6. Hi Dan, I fish pools 9-10 a lot (about 5-6 weeks a year) From PDC to Genoa. Desoto bay is a bass factory as is the Big Lake area north of Marquette Ia. on pool 9. Pool 10 has great areas also, Spring lake/Ambrose slough, Wyalusing Park, Harpers Ferry slough and even downtown PDC has a lot of great fishing. I started this thread last spring and it was used on and off. I would love to see it take off and be used more this season. Luck
  7. I started about 1948-49 fishing beaver dams for trout with my Dad in the U.P. of Michigan, Was hooked on fly fishing for trout by about 10. Fished all over MT, Wyo, Wis and the U.P. until '95. I was in an accident and could not wade anymore. Who can live without fishing, So I bought a boat, started bass fishing and the rest is history. I still have $1000's of dollars in fly tying material and equipment that I'm saving for my 5 grandsons. The 7 year old is just starting to tie flys and I am a proud Grandpa..
  8. Well, it was early Oct., the last time I was on the water and I have 3 feet of snow in my front yard and 24" of ice on the lakes, I'm looking forward to a 2 week tip to Ky. lake in mid April. I'm tired of tackle tinkering, reel cleaning, talking about it, dreaming about it, and fighting the bait monkey. I just want to go fishing. And by the way, when I get back from the 2 weeks in KY. the pre spawn bite on the Mississippi (pools 9-10) will just be heating up. My wife is going to be sorry she keeps telling me to get out of the house. Color me GONE for the summer.
  9. I think if you went to Bassmaster.com and read Pace's first "blog" you will have a whole new concept of the man. Remarkable.
  10. And another vote for P-line cxx.
  11. And I thought this was going to be a question for your northern brothers about how to get on and off frozen lakes. Only about 6 weeks til the lakes start thawing and 2 months til bass season. I think I'll make it.
  12. Don't have 10 but: 5" Senko, black, pumpkin, plum. 3/8 spinner bait in white. white/chart.#200 Bandit in spring craw and red craw. 7 in. Zoom u-tail worm in plum, pumpkin and watermelon. 6 in. zoom lizard/brush hog in same colors. Even though my boat has 50 lbs. of plastics and enough other stuff to start a tackle shop, those would be my starters
  13. So, your going to get a total of 3/4 of an inch of snow, and 10-15 mph wind and the whole town will shut down. Heck, we would have been shut down since late Nov. up here if that were the case. So far this week alone we had 7 in. in 3 different snow falls and Tue. nite we had 25-35 mph winds and nothing even slowed down. We have had 47" of snow this winter according to the NWS. Have fun and be careful, Sounds like a good time to open a bottle of "sippin" whiskey and hunker down.

Google, Ky Lake fishing reports. There are 3-4 guides who put in an actual good fishing report every week (mostly on Fri.) with water level reports, baits, colors etc. I'm heading down there for two weeks in mid April ( third year in a row) I love Ky. Lake Best baits have been tx rigged lizards, shakey head worms, chart/white spinnerbaits. Best colors: pumpkin, pumpkin majic, and watermelon. Good luck, It's a great fishing hole.
  15. Did you notice that IKE mentioned that he used the "scatterrap" but didn't say he caught any fish on it. Not much of an endorsement for the next "greatest lure" on the biggest stage in bass fishing.
  16. Basstrax has Chris at 19lb 6oz at 10:20 culling 2 fish.
  17. Pumpkin magic, sourgrape, plum
  18. Retired, 40 years in sales. The last 30 selling food to the supper clubs and resorts in northern Wisconsin. Now my wife tells me to "get the hell out of the house and go fishing" Tough life.
  19. And I would bet that if you checked your 401k or retirement fund you would find that they are well invested in oil stocks. Oil company profits are usually around 9%, Walmart's is about 16%. Check it out.
  20. I believe the "Rapala look alike" is probably a "Rebel" They came out shortly after the Rapala craze hit, but were made of plastic instead of wood.
  21. It's all free and bring a bag for the goodies and lots of money to spend on tackle
  22. Last spring on KY. Lake, I caught 2 rods and reels in the same afternoon. They were both toast, but what are the odds?
  23. Fish them and see what happens, $15 is better than $30. If they don't catch fish for you, add them to the other ( pick your own number) of lures that you purchased that didn't work. For me, that would be in the hundreds. I have a "bait monkey " problem.
  24. I have fished them all, GYBC are still the best. Why , I don't know.
