i agree ... as a general rule ill take all my reels apart after 5 trips .... ill clean and add a drop of oil where i can .... not one of my baitcaster has faild me or givin me any trouble yet ( knock on wood ) :-?.....well there was that one cardiff that had a sticky drag system ... but that had nothing to do with oiling and cleaning ..... i believe when i baught the reel it had the problem ..... ;D

i just baught 2 of them .... but havent had a chanch to get them wet .... there is a review on tackle tour .... they look good ... and im sure the pike will love them ...

ok thats what i was thinking but didnt know ... i must have baught the minus 4s .... they had the 8s there too but the bills where bigger .... thats ok ... you cant beat the price ... ;D and i needed cranks ..... lol...

same here .... ive fished shimano for a long time .... always looking at diawa ,,, still buying shimano ,,,, then the zillion came out .... i baught 1 zillion to jig fish with and a cu 201 for a frog rod ..... well after compairing bolth reels ,,, the cu just felt bulky and big .... the cu sat high on the rod where the zillion sat low and felt much smaller .... i took that cu back for another zillion .....now i have 2 ... but over all i like bolth shimano and diawa /// theres a diawa sol ive been eyein at the shop..... i just may have to get that too ... just for more compairisons .....LOL ;D... no really i like bolth shimano and diawa ... bolth make a solid reel .... its really just what feels right to you ....

hey guys ,,, i was just at the local gander mt... and they are clearing out stuff in the bargin bins .... i picked up 15 manns stone jigs 1.50 a pop .... i also picked up a few 10 or so ( the monkee is makin me lie ) manns baby minus cranks 2 bucks a pop .... and 2 spro chug minnows 2 bucks a pop ( reg 10 bucks ) ... if you have a gander mt .. in your town take a look .....

youd think they would ..... i have the chronarch and the zillion .... the chronarch is smooth and a great reel ,,, but i just think the zillion is killer .... now i shouldnt say this but i will .... i use my calcutta 51 for all cranking .... this reel is nice ,,, its small ,, powerfull ,,,, has a slower retrive speed ,,, and just fun to use ..... i have also been eyein up the diawa sol .... that reel looks insane .... so there are options .... all these reels will work wonders on your loomis .... ;D

hey thanks for all the replys ..... very help full .... i just picked up 15 baby minus lures ... i found them in a clerance bin / 2 bucs a pop ..... i also scored 15 manns stone jigs / 1.50 a pop ..... cant go wrong there ....

well all i use is a polamar and a knot close to the inproved clinch .... really its just the clinch knot i believe .... all tho i havent had any trouble useing the polamar yet .... but i believe ike uses alot of lite flour 4-8lb ... and i like a 15-20lb test so this may be why i havent had any trouble ..... i tend not to use a lite flour due to the shock factor .... ive read lite flours can break during a hook set because of the shock ..... how ever i love a heavy flour ,,, i just havent had any troubles with the heavyer flour lines ( 15-20lb )

also what colors are best :-/

witch ones are good i see the baby minus but there is a baby minus 1 too....i want these manns for cranking skinny water but i hear there baby minus 8 isnt as good as the baby minus .... so my main question is how good is just the baby minus or the baby minus 1 // are they bolth fish catchers .... also i seen a few that had different bills some where square and some where round ????? help

yes i ment fluorocarbon .... i have 2 rigs this year for jigging ..... one i will try the p-line halo 15lb ... and the other will have p-line cxx 15lb ... i know some guys like a 20lb when jigging and even braid ,,, just me but i like a 15lb .....

i was lookin at the steeze reel it looked killer .... but i picked up 2 zillions instead .... and those zillions are sweet too ;D

enjoy muddy .... the spook is a killer bait .... i started useing them last year caught a few nice bass and my pb pike came on a spook ..... i love fishing them just waiting for that blow up ... i put a o ring on the nose of the bait..... i tie to the o ring ... it seems alot easyer to walk the dog this way ... imo

the one tip that helped me so much was to use your rod tip to move the jig .... i know your scratching your head now .... so just dont let the jig free falll on a slack line .... also i like a flour line .... this keeps my line tight from rod tip to the jig .... use the tip of your rod to lower the bait and raise the bait ... then you will feel the taps .... untill i did this i didnt like jigs ,,,, now i love the jig .... you will get it ... just keep tossin that jig ..... my favorite jig is the arkee jig .... and it costs like 1.50 .... this comes in handy ,,,, you will lose jigs ..... i try and buy 10 or so every time i go to the sportsmans .... ;D hope my rambling helped

id agree the seem to under rate thier sticks ..... my first spinner was a 7ft med hev premiere ... so i feel your pain .... my next spinner was a 6ft6 avid med fast..... i love my avid so much ..... id throw small t rigs ,, senkos ,, tubes ,,, small bitsy bug jigs ,,, almost anything i could .... then i got into baitcasting .... now i hardly ever use a spinner ,,, so i got rid of the avid .... now i have one legened elite 6ft3 med-lite fast .... thats it ... spinning .... man now im thinking i need a avid again ,,,,lol ;D

boca ,,, i fish matts baits too ... not the gill ,,, but i fish the baby bass series ... the olny thing id say is to try a different line .... the bass may be line shy .... if this is the case id recomened the p-line cxx (moss green) 20lb .... thats what ive been using and seem to have no trouble getting bit at all .... in fact the matt lure is becoming a confidence bait for me .... ;D all i do is a steady retrive ( as slow as i can but make sure that tail is kicking ) and steady .... swim here where the big girls are .... ;D and HOLD ON

grab some red cast you wont be sorry ,,,, and you wont have any trouble .... i bet most people that say red cast is bad are tryinig the red litning ( this line is crap ) ..... red cast is one of my favorite monos to date .... and ive tryed a few ,,, trust ..... i believe a spool will cost ya 5 bucks .... not a bad price ,,, when you wont be fiddling with line all day ....

try one brother ..... they are sweet .... i baught my first one for a jig rod / worm rod .... and i took the cu i baught for my frog rod .... the seconed is on my frog rod .... ;D
