Stradic and Yo Zuri line=problems? (w/ pics now)
i had that same problem with yo zori hybred on my baitcaster .... so i went back to p-line .... now i couldent believe putting it on a spinning reel .... id suggest you try cajun red cast ,,, i used 10lb on my spinner .... this line is so limp ... no need to dress this line with any thing ..... just buy a spool and spool up then enjoy some catching .....

Zillion or Chronarch
i have the chronarch ,,, well 2 of them ..... they are great reels and where my favorite ,,,, well until i baught my zillion .... i also took a new cu 201 back for another zillion .... the zillion is sweet ... she casts so nice ... im really impresed with the zillion and im a shimano guy ..... shimano better step it up ... theres no way ill buy a shimano calas dc for 600 bucks ,,, i just think diawa made a work horse of a reel .....

Citica200D vs. Advantage Super Tuned
id get the diawa .... i used to fish shimano but they seem big and bulky .... i just baught a new cu 201 but quickly returned it for another zillion .... just my opinion ,,, but id say diawa .... why spend the extra money on a heavy bulky reel ????

Does anyone own or use a St. CroixTBC 7'3" MHF?
i dont have that exact rod you speak of .... i do have the legened tourney bass 7ft hevy frog rod .... love it .... for flippin ,,, c-rig ,,, small swimbaits and pitching big jigs i have a 7ft6 premiere 1 peice .... strong rod .... and for the price you cant beat it ..... its a heavy fast rod ...

Daiwa Zillion vs. Chronarch B
i have bolth reels //// i do like my chronarch well untill i baught a zillion ..... then i baught a new cu 201 /// that went back quick for another zillion .... shimanos are ok reels ... but IMO diawa offers more at better price ..... i also feel my zillions are my best 2 reels ;D it is what it is

Swimbaits?
he does have a 6inch trout series that he poured a few perch in .... also there are perch in the 5inch baby bass series ( my go tos ) .... and i know he just put out a great lakes series that has a different perch i believe its a yellow perch //// ;D

Swimbaits?
ok so if you just wanna see what a swim bait will do in your waters ,,,, try a storm swimbait there are many different styles and sizes .. most are fairly cheap ..... if you want a better bait all around you may wanna look at some mattlures .... the guy that makes these baits is outta calli .... he is a stand up guy and makes some of the best swimmers around ..... IMO of course .... i use the baby bass series and will be tossin the blue gill .... these swimbaits arent huge so you wont need a swimbait rod .... you can get away with a heavy filping stick ..... matts baits are around 1-2ozs ..... mainly under 2oz ..... so give them a look ...... mattlures.com ...... they are fish catchers .... i just started tossing these baits last year and caught a few hoggs and a ton of little bass to smallest was 13inches on a 5inch baby bass .... ;D

rapalas twitch rap ?????
thanks for the imput ..... a guy at the local sportsmans tole me they where for walkin the dog just a foot below the surface .... this sounded interesting to me ,,, haveing such good luck with the spooks last year ...... there where times i saw the bass smashing bait fish just below the surface ,,,, but i couldent get them to come up top for a spook ..... i think this bait would shine in this situtation

Amazeing
yes these zillions i baught have me ( a shimano guy ) so happy im now lookin at a sol for my crankin stick ... ;D
-
rapalas twitch rap ?????
are you guys using them ????? if so are you catching any ?????? give up the low down ..... just saw this bait and believe there are so many times i would have used this bait ....

mono and crankbaits
i use cajun red cast and tryline xt ..... bolth are monos .... now this is tricky because if you have a crankin stick ( glass or graph ) you should be fine with the cxx ..... due to the mod action of a crankin stick i see less need for such stretchy monos ...... a crankin stick has a forgiving tip so your tip should give you the play you need .... ( in theroy )..... as for the cxx it should be ok ... but id use the cx instead just because it seems to have less memory and a smaller dia. so if you went with a cx in 12lb it would be like a cxx in 10lb ( dia wise ) ;D

Amazeing
i totally agree ..... im a part of the shimano possie .... lol ..... but that zillion is so sweet ..... i went to my local sportsmans a few weeks back to spend some tax money ..... i baught a frog rod and a cu 201 with the burner speed .... while at the reel case i spotted a zillion .... well i ended up buying that zillion also ... then a week later i decided the cu was too big and just didnt fit in my hand the right way so i returned it for thats right another zillion ..... ill be using the 1st zillion on my st croix legened tourney bass frog rod ..... and the seconed zillion will go on a custom stick from reel mech for jigs .... man the ice wont melt quick enough >

Horny Toads
there is a horney toad hook ..... zoom sells this hook it is a 5odd hook with a little corkscrew attached to the hook eye .... all you do is screw the toads head on the cork screw and run the hook all the way through the back of the toad the hook point will run along the back of the toad fully exposed .... ive had best luck buzzing this toad along the top ... i also toss this toad in the nastyest pads and salad i can find ... good luck ;D

The Reel Debates

Aaron Martens quote about fluo & palomar knots
ill tell ya what ,, i just saw the new p=line halo flour ..... im in shock still .... this flour is limp as braid ... i couldent believe how it didnt coil at all nor did it seem hard or wire like .... i have some tripple fish flour and this stuff looks like a slinkee .... just look around and try a few different ones ( flours ) .... this line does have a time and place ..... as for a polamar knot i use it with flour .... have had no trouble with the polmar ;D
-
Jig rod/reel
one thing to think of is the line retrive .... the cardiff is a 5:1 i believe ... i used a calcutta 51 and 50lb braid ,,, just seemed slow ... i couldent pick line up quick enogh .... i switched to my chronarch 101b this reel sports a 6:1 i believe ..... the chronarch does jigs just fine .... ;D

shimano cardiff and calcutta
ok i have bolth reels ... if you like the cardiff you will love the calcutta ... i really like my cardfiff ,,she is a work horse of a reel .... so if i didnt have the money i would get a cardiff .... now there is a calcutta and the calcutta te ( sweet ) .... so imo this is where she gets tricky .... i never used a te ,,, just seen them how ever i did see enough to tell me this te is a beast ..... i just have the regular callcutta 51 ... she is a pwer packed little reel ..... ;D see what i mean tricky .... ;D
-
zillon on a frog rod ????
ok so i just baught a new st croix legened tourney bass frog rod ... for this rod i baught a shimano cu 201 burner reel .... but i also baught a zillion burner .... after tryin bolth reels on that stick ,, the zillion is like a match in heaven .... i think the cu is just too big and bulky .... ok so heres the queston ,,, does the zillion have the drag to be a froggin reel ????? i havent had a chanch to fish my zillon yet as the lakes are froze solid here in the north woods ..... so any one who is fishin a zillion please give me a report on the drag ...

Quality Polarized Sunglasses
after a few seasons useing the 10-20 dollar pairs i just stepped up to a 100 dollar pair ... the difference is night and day ....i can tell ya in 2 seconeds witch is better ..... i grabbed a pair of smith action optics ... smiths where oraginally made for skiers and snowboarders .... a good lense is needed when on the snow all day .... i geuss fisherman started wearing there glasses and now there is a fishing series ..... also they have the photo chromic lenses ... these photo chromic lenses will adjust to the lite ... the brighter the sun the darker the lense .... early in the morn or in low lite the lenses are almost clear .... they are crazy .... now i dont squint anymore ,,, i found the cheaper pairs to be just to cloudy and never give you a even view .... with my smiths i get a crisp clear view all day .... i went with a copper lense so i could get the photo chromic lense ... but i will also be getting the amber lense ,,, witch isnt photo chromic ..... ;D you guys can see these on there web site www.actionoptics.com i went with the shelter photo copper ..... i have a big head and have trouble finding a frame that fits my head good ,,, the shelter does fit great .... ;D ;D i will also say i dont work for smith nor am i sponcered by smith just a avid fisherman that enjoys action optics ;D ;D
