  1. Toss a hollow body frog out there. I bet you you come back with another frog. My experience is that frogs are territorial as hell! Frog on frog violence is real!
  2. It sounds like a Tranx 300 would fit the bill perfect.
  3. I have a G Loomis one that I use and love. Holds four trays in the bottom compartment and food, jacket, tool, etc. in the top.
  4. With a bladed swim jig its usually a slow and steady retrieve for me. Sometimes "yo-yoing"will do wonders though.
  5. Sure do! I like to "swim" them to get that tail flappin'. Usually with a pegged bullet weight and a EWG hook.
  6. Another lure! Haha. Then end up fishing it, getting bit with it and then wonder how I went that long with out it! Prime example: Whopper Plopper. I was a little late to the party, but the very first day I fished it, lights out! Really though the list can seem like it can be endless. Oval rings and replacement hooks for all my hard baits, Good pliers, UPF Sun Gaiter and long sleeves, Headlamp, braid on spinning reels, top shelf polarized sun glasses, Gucci hooks, Good landing net, etc...
  7. I would fly line a weedless plastic. Frog looks like an excellent option as well.
  8. I'll just leave this little stat here: The 25 biggest Black Bass ever caught and certified by the IFGA Totals by State Totals by County Total State Top Bass Total County Top Bass 19 California 22.063 11 San Diego, CA 21.688 1 Florida 20.125 6 Los Angeles, CA 22.063 1 Shiga Prefecture, Japan 22.311 2 Ventura, CA 21.2 1 Georgia 22.25 1 6 others appear once 1 Nara Prefecture, Japan 19.15 1 Sinaloa, Mexico 19.10 Yeah, down right terrible... *Courtesy of SD Fish
  9. I agree with White, Black and Clear as a top three. Side note: I have been knocking the snot out of them this year on a Sammy with a Chartreuse belly and Blue top (Blue Crack to be exact).
  10. Another vote for Alberto or UNI to UNI.
  11. Pretty accurate. I especially like #5.
  12. I have not used the Matzou, but I love my Spro swivels.
  13. I will fish them year round. The key for me is water clarity, or lack there of. The more stained the better. Clearer water I prefer old school spinner baits. YMMV...
  14. You will know when your worm hits the bottom when the line "slacks" out. I almost always have the reel in gear when after a cast as soon as the worm hits the water. I usually peg my weights in heavy vegetation.
  15. its all about positing in the yak. Get that dialed and everything else falls into place. All the suggestions for a lighter wire hook are solid as well.
  16. Ain't fishing strange like that sometimes. Last trip out they would'nt touch the Spook or Gunfish, but were all over the Sammy. Go figure...
  17. Sad? Nah... Use what ever they're chewing on and enjoy the moment.

Yes. Yes they are. However IMHO they are COMPLETELY worth it.
  19. This is usually my recipe as well, no more than two tabs and if I want more than two colors I also split tabs. I almost always will use a barb wire (or fish scale, dalmatian, living image, etc) as well with a solid color. I like variations of browns, greens and black with flake. I like to add purple as accent colors. Sorry, no pics right now though.
  20. Yeah, its essentially where we drew our inspiration from, except we are using jigs instead of dads. It's been a minute since we've been up up DVL and double anchored on those huge wind blown points, so I perhaps shouldn't say all the time, but its definitely a technique we have used to present worms and jigs in the wind. Once the wind gets blowing enough to deter other people, we just drop both anchors and get to draggin'...
