  1. Yeah, its "arctic" out this way in the high 40's.
  2. Why the hype? Cuz they just get bit!

I don't use it a ton because of the nature of the lay of our lakes, however when we need to search a flat, its the go-to rig. I usually use 1/2 to 1 oz weight and about a 12-24" leader. I love a Creature Bait on the end of the rig.
  4. Reel: Shimano Rods: Shimano, Gloomis Line: Izorline, Sunline Hooks: Gamakatsu, Mustad Hardbaits: Lucky Craft Softbaits: Mine Outerwear: Grundens
  5. No. I only retie if I need to retie. IE: The line is damaged.
  6. Jig. I Like 3/8ths and 1/2oz 99% of the time in Green, Brown or Black with accents colors in the skirts or trailer.
  7. I've been digging the Pepper Customs lately. Favorite replacement skirt is my own blend.
  8. Jumping Jackrabbits! I for one, love this color scheme. Very cool boat. Congrats!
  9. GLoomis and Shimano for fresh and Batson and Calstar for salt.
  10. I have switched in the last year and I am glad I did. Running 20 lb. PP to 10 lb Sniper primarily.
  11. I use 3/8ths & 1/2oz jigs for Chatterbaits, Spinnerbaits, Jigs, etc 99% of the time. However, you better believe I have some smaller and larger sizes in reserve for when the need arises.
  12. Anything will work, but its almost some kind of worm for me. Second would be a Fluke style bait.
  13. Very cool. Congrats on getting out there and getting on some fish.
  14. 1 - Shimano, 2 - Shimano, 3 - I don't play that game. 4 - Shimano Purely personal preference. I have had my eye on the Saltiga conventional reels though...
  15. The majority of the time I'm using white with various accent colors year round. I little while back I had a pattern figured out at a certain lake that utilized a white bait with purple accent strands with a white and purple boot tail that just flat out slayed em' for an entire season, but particularly in spring time.
  16. Me too. I would love to see A-Mart finally win one. IMHO, he is one of the best to ever fish the Elites. So close so many times and it would be a nice cherry on top of all those AOY titles.
  17. Sunline Sniper. This is the line that got me to fall in love with Flouro after many tumultuous attempts at best before I found this line. For me, I find it has the best mixture of manageability, sensitivity and break strength without being obscenely priced.
  18. I love my Crucials. I have everything from Drop Shot rods to Swimbait rods and feel they are a great rod for the money or at any price for that matter. Why a $400 rod? Why not? If you got the scratch, go for it. Its all relative to the individuals perceived value of something.
  19. Sounds like a plan to me! I order $50 bucks worth last year.
  20. Mine is to simply go more. I have been fishing more and more salt water the past few years and need to get back on the lake more!
  21. Those look killer. Nice score.
  22. If you are up for the salt water fishing I would stick with that. The spinning outfit should be just fine. 10 lb test w/ 1/4 oz & 3/8 oz "shad heads" with swimbaits (3" & 4" paddle tails) and Grubs. The boat would be advantageous more so to explore the bays rather than to reach fish holding areas as fish will hold tight to shore in various cover year round. Target rip rap and eel grass beds for Spotted Bay Bass, Sand Bass and Calico Bass with the swimbaits and grubs. Fan cast heavy cover areas. Try and "tick" the tops of the eel grass beds with your baits. Brown and Green plastics are dynamite colors year round in our bays.
  23. Hey there, I'm a born and raised Native San Diegan and currently reside here. There are several reservoirs to choose from including El Capitan, San Vicente, Jennings, Etc.
