  1. Remove the boot and clean it. You may have got something in it.
  2. You've mentioned this twice now from what I've seen. Your issue is either a bad spool or you are tying a bad knot. It's not Tatsu. Lots and lots of people use tatsu, myself included, with zero issues.

i guess i should have said "that" fuego is brand new. Make more sense now?

Torzite guides are ridiculously expensive hence the big jump in price

It was just revamped a couple years ago.. The xtreme isnt going anywhere. It will probably be remade icast2016 based on their past. The legend elites were long over due.

Figured as much. Those guides are pricey. Do you by chance know if they are going to dip the elite's into the 7'+ market? Id think the 7'4 HF they have in the xtreme would be a huge seller and an amazing jig stick in the elite lineup.

Remember the comparison pictures of the tatula vs the new zillion on TT where the picture "looked like they were different"? I'll believe it when I see it on this one. It would be nice to have a new Daiwa reel on a non tatula frame but I'm not holding my breath on it.
  9. Couldn't help myself http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Bulk+tungsten+weights
  10. They aren't really new. I think they have been out for around 3 years. i used them on a scrounger jig head for walleye and smallmouth. They didn't "wow" me but they looked cool and caught fish. Not something i'm looking to buy again.

I thought I as all but done with St. Croix until I saw the new legend Elite. Hopefully they offer the same lengths/actions as the Xtreme. As long as that is an ECS and not SK2 garbage, it should be a winner. I fear it may be in the NRX price range though /w those guides. The "TatFuego" just screams disappointment if it's in the Tatula frame. Seaguar Flippin' Fluoro sounds really nice. Hard not to trust a line with Danny's name on it. Weego Jump Starter Battery looks really cool
  12. http://www.bfishntackle.com/4inch_moxi.html most scheels carry these if you want local. fantastic action at slow speeds.
  13. This isn't uncommon for mass produced commercial jigs. Some run correct, some don't. It's all about the balance of the head. They don't get the attention to detail that companies like Lethal Weapon, Brovarneys, or Siebert's who actually know how to correctly make a swim jig give. Either deal with it leaning or toss it and buy a new one from somebody else or gamble on SK again. I'm really particular about my swim jigs. They have to run true.
  14. It will act the same as if you were backing up in a parking lot. just take your time and go slow. learning to backup is just something that takes time. we all went through it. you'll get it with time. don't let any blowhard at the ramp that thinks he has to get out in the next 30 seconds bother you. Most of us can tell what new boaters look like and will offer to help if you are having a hard time. don't forget to put that plug in!
  15. Hardly increases dismeter using rod wrap/overgrip Changes weight/balamce...? Really? If anything it will help seeing as you add it to the handle. Wrap weighs so little the "increase in weight" using it will be so minute you won't know the difference. Cork gets wet/slippery. Rod wrap/overgrip doesnt get slick or slippery. It can twist? Thats a new one. I use it on all my rods and iver never experiemced it "twisting? That was a really silly statement, Tom.

  17. you could have bent or replaced the the anti reverse pawl incorrectly. It's very easy to do this putting it back on the clutch. It only serves as a backup to the actual AR bearing. Remove it and see if the issue persists. You don't need it in the reel unless you fish saltwater. I remove all mine.
  18. 1.) T-rig plastics-fluoro 2.) Jigs-fluoro 3.) Hollow Frogs Spooks/Dogwalkers-braid 4.) Poppers-braid or mono both work 5.) Spinnerbaits-fluoro 6.) Swim jigs-braid or fluoro depending on where you fish them 7.) Drop shot-braid /w fluoro leader or straight fluoro 8.) Wacky rig-fluoro 9.) Soft jerkbaits-same as #6 10.) Crankbaits-dealers choice. they all work.
  19. stop dropping your reels on the ground butterfingers! agree with checking the screws as well as making sure your spool is aligned /w the pinion.
  20. Go to Target and pick up a product made by Wilson called Tennis Raquet Overgrip. It's sold in packs of 3 for under 4$. This is the exact same thing as XPS rod wrap. I put it on all my rods. I love it.
  21. Assuming these are all ran to a fuse panel, did the wiring harness come unplugged? Resetting the fuse panel breaker is something to look into as well. i'm unsure what yours look like but I have 2 spring loaded switches on mine that reset them. Hopefully you figure this out. Electrical issues are the worst.
  22. dobyns 735 in any series make fantastic frog rods. Lots of people use them for jigs as well.
