  1. more surprising than a 7-8 panthers team sneaking in? Assuming Bell gets his leg right by then, ( I think they will beat BAL even w/o Bell this weekend) I really don't see Den winning vs PIT unless ol' noodle arm can get his act right. Superbowl NE vs Sea/GB
  2. Why would they....? GB/Sea/Dal all finishes 12-4 I'm a huge Dallas fan and they don't deserve the first round bye nor did they earn it. Sea beat GB Dal beat Sea Dal didn't play GB so that theory doesn't work. In the event of a multi way tie, the tie breakers are given by their records vs conference(NFC). In this case Sea was 10-2, GB was 9-3 and Dallas was 8-4 thus giving them seeding. Even though their record was just "as good" as the 1 and 2 seed. they were the worst of the bunch vs their respective conference.
  3. yes thats the rod gary uses. I didnt know you were using such heavy weights +plastic in grass. Get the 766 or even the 805. I have no idea how well my 894 can handle 1oz buy i imagine pretty easily. I like a heavier rod than some. I can find out the deflection a 1oz weight causes for you later on the 894 though.
  4. Join the facebook group "pre rapala wiggle warts" lots of people on there could help
  5. I used to use the 766 for punching. Its a broomstick. Not what I would consider a pitching stick. I dont have the glx 894 but do have the nrx894. Amazing pitching stick. Mine almost always has a 1/2 jig on it for pitching to cover. It is deceivingly powerful for such a light rod but im never concerned pulling fish from trees/bushes/laydowns. Its power is close to a dx746 if you have held it.
  6. I was wondering when this topic was going to come up. It's only been 4 days since the last time this was asked.
  7. It's a lexa handle with Tatula knobs....
  8. you pop the side plate off, set the brake to 1 or 2 on depending on your thumb, and forget about them. the rest is your thumb and the cast control knob.
  9. Meant ad nauseam. Voice to text won this battle
  10. Tell us more about your high school girlfriend Dean!
  11. If it was literally anybody except ndamukong suh, I'd agree. The player sitting out definitely did something "worse" than what suh just did but Suh has been doing the same thing the player sitting out has been doing his entire career. He's a piece of trash. You can clearly see the first time he stepped on his ankle was an accident and the second time was what he tries to get away with every single time he does this. You can see clear as day he takes a step back, doesn't even acknowledge his "oops i stepped on something" and puts all his weight on that one foot and pushes off him. Again, ANYBODY except Suh, this could be construed as an accident.
  12. I really hope ndamukong suh gets some sort suspension for that. He's a classless piece of trash that just seems to think the rules don't apply to him. I lost count how many times he's done stuff like this. I didn't see Det winning in Dal next week anyway but without Suh....good luck.
  13. This isn't meant to be rude. Your same question is asked at least 2 times a week. This topic has been beat to death and discussed at nausea. use the search function and you'll find more info on braid and/or leaders than you can get in 1 topic.
  14. Assuming freshwater, just about any(not all) 200$ casting reel you buy will last you longer than you probably need it to. As long as you have half a brain(i.e you drop your reel in sand and think dunking it in late/river water is the cleaning solution-it isn't...) and get your reels serviced annually. they will last a while. Since it sounds like you're only getting one, get the one that feels the best in your hand when palming. Constantly adjusting your grip is annoying. As for the spinning reel, you're just going to start a ticking contest /w this one so I'm not even going to bother /w a brand here. sorry.
  15. It isn't probably true. It's a known fact. You are correct about Randy Howell. To give you a specific example, go through the last Elite Series pictorial on Table Rock (last year maybe). You will be hard pressed to find an angler that wasn't throwing a pre rapala wiggle wart. There's even numerous pictures of KVD himself /w warts tied on. They throw what wins them money but at the weigh in, it's always their sponsor's bait.
  16. They don't use one specific brand exclusively.
  17. Sure you could. Rapala and Lucky Craft are the only two companies where I would feel comfortable being limited to one.(I suppose MB but I don't have enough experience /w most of their hard baits.) Their selection is so broad and covers thoroughly top to bottom it would be pretty simple. No, they aren't.
  18. Fantastic series of reels. I'm sure you can source parts for these. I havent had to yet though. As far as improvments go, theres very little, if anything, that needs to be done to the reel aside from cosmetics. Bearing upgrade never hurts but the spools great stock.
  19. Dobyns 704cb Legend tournament or avid 68mxf Great jerkbait sticks
  20. Karu VibraShock 3/8 oz Rage Craw/Shovewave/Skinny Dipper as a trailer
  21. I've read about people soaking their spools in water. I've never done this and have never needed to. Did you put KVD L&L on before you soaked it? Silly question but if you did, that was a silly thing to do. I use 7# sniper on a smaller, 1000 size shimano /w no coiling issues. Run all the line out and attach it to some sort of immobile object. (after you make sure there's no line twist in the spool) Put some KVD L&L on a rag, run the line through the rag and reel the line in. Spray the spool down once more quick and let it sit over night.
