  1. If I had to use one rod in your specific fishing criteria, it would be the dobyns Champ 735c. the only reason i'd choose the champ over the DX is based on frogs. champ has a better tip than the DX for frogs.
  2. don't do that... just flush the bearings and clean the reel out. the reel isn't intended to cast lightweight lures. should be fine for 3/8+
  3. so is romo...if romo is done for the season, almost surely Lee will sit as well. w/o lee, mccoy will have a field day vs dallas.
  4. I know what you mean. I guess they did get rid the the D series really quick but the E is such a solid platform. If they can improve on it in that price range though, it would be a sweet deal and that current line up will get discounted like crazy. Hope they sell the ch51s for 99$ like they did the curado51s.
  5. hopefully 00mod has the link to his before/during/after pics of his current set up. I can't remember if I saw it here or on tinboats but it was impressive. It's by far my favorite tinboat mod I've seen.
  6. because the thread is made in the shimano product support forum. I would guess 80% of the posts in that subforum are his. he usually responds to each and every post in the thread and is pretty active in most, if not all, "new XXX shimano reel threads". Really the only person in the thread that can give you any certainty is bantam. I wouldn't guarantee but I would venture to assume there probably will be some sort of "new curado". Getting rid of the current chronarch E series would just be stupid with such a proven design. they have done dumber things though so who knows. if they did though...its hard to say what they can really do in that price range. kind of a weird situation if they are going to be in that chronarch price range. buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut those chronarchs will sell out so fast. can't wait if true.
  7. orton was okay at best 4-5 years ago. the romo/no romo factor makes all the difference. i don't honestly see orton being able to keep up /w philly's OFF. Foles is the real deal. Even if for some fluke occurrence(knock on wood) foles gets another concussion, it will be embarrassing watching the "back up" Vick, who i assume by this time is "healthy", run for 150 yds vs the DAL Def that can't stop a parked car.
  8. everything about the "new curados" is hearsay and nothing is confirmed. i assume you got this info from the TT page. refer to bantams post on page 8. I really would find it hard to believe that they would ditch the current chronarch for a "replacement" when the ci4 just came out. and there's nothing wrong /w the chronarch as it is. adding a 7:1 in the 50 size would be something i could see as lots of people want that but dont want to pay almost double for the core. realistically I could see them revamping the curado line in the tatula price range kind of like how daiwa has the tatula at 150/type r at 200. IF for some silly reason the chronarch is discontinued, they will probably all be gone in 2 days time from TW at 50% off.....maybe even faster.
  9. the ones labeled original don't have salt. the ones labeled "extra salt"...have salt.
  10. He won't says he's out until the weekly wednesday medical staff rules him out. Even then he could still be questionable going into the friday medical clearance tests where he will all be certainly be ruled out. Philly has the playoffs in the bag. Their secondary is finally (somewhat) clicking. They were godawful for most of the season. Von Miller out for Den. really hurts their already struggling D. This was NO div to lose and they most likely will. The lions got unlucky that the NYG team that wants to play showed up and did what they do every year...crush dreams. If romo is out (which i assume he is) i hope they flex chi vs GB over philly/Dal to SNF. the first quarter of last nights game was fun to watch but after that was hard to stomach. It's fairly inevitable that the same scenario will play out vs an awful DEF and an OFF w/o romo that just won't be able to keep up. chi/GB will at least be entertaining.
  11. Depends on the line diameter of the line manufacturer. with the higher end fluorocarbons, line diameters tend to run smaller than lower grade. i like using .15 size fluoro for jig fishing which equates to 20# in Tatsu (what i use for jigs) but its around 15-16# in lesser grade fluoros.
  12. 1/4 oz-3/4 oz is pushing the limits of a ML rod in to a M power rod. I'm sure it will work fine if you keep the lures in the weight ranges and stay out of thick cover.
  13. I was going to recommend this as well. the 6in yamamoto grubs are almost just a worm when they get to that size. tons and tons of tail action but have the durability tempered glass.
  14. sub 200 /w sales if you can find them would be the chronarch 200e6 for a "do it all reel".
  15. I normally wouldn't pull the "there's a search function above the post.." but you hijacked somebody else's thread /w an entirely different question. so....
  16. if you really squint, you can see a pixzilla in the middle of the photo.....
  17. siebert brush jig+rage craw
  18. no you did perfect. the 4 power dobyns is fantastic for the weights you mentioned. I use the DX744 for the same t-rigs you mentioned. I use the 743 for senkos and 1/8 trigs.
  19. My Tatula 100HL was waiting for me when I got home today. This reel is incredibly smooth right out of the box. When I pulled the reel out I was really surprised with its size. It is not a big reel at all. fits perfect in my hands which is the one thing I was worried after only being able to handle a RH one. Once I got it dialed in, this thing can really cast and it can cast with ease. I didn't get too long playing with it outside. 15 degree weather and a light freezing mist doesn't agree /w mono or my cold hands. This is going to be a long 4-5 months
  20. i really like sieberts outdoor jig heads
  21. i'm am extremely right hand dominant in most things that I do in life but for the life of me using a right hand baticaster feels like i'm trying to write cursive /w my left hand for the first time. left hand reels feel so much more natural when i cast /w my right arm.
  22. I thought so...thanks.
  23. take away the (remove) and copy/paste it. I was just told that there are 10 skirts per package but that just seems odd for 2.99. I e-mailed them again for clarification.
  24. if you have one set up for flipping into heavy grass/weeds/wood etc, use braid.
