Tatula 100 vs. SLX as a "workhorse" reel
It actually does have an adjustment. The "zero" adjust trickled down from the steez sV TW and is set at the factory for just a blonde one of side to side play. You can move the brake dial to tighten/loosen it up but it's very difficult to turn.

- Tatula 100 vs. SLX as a "workhorse" reel
Despite what the advertisement for the new Tatula 100 as being "finesse" oriented, it isn't. It's a deeper spool that isn't light but isn't heavy either. My guess is somewhere the translation for a small reel was misunderstood for being finesse. It is however a super good casting reel that's very smooth for something that you can get for 100$ if you look.- What's the mfr rec on breaking in Merc 4-stroke?

champ 735. Lighter and has a hair more power. Savvy 735 is also and really awesome frog rod. Fury's are good rods, just heavy.- The Road To The Super Bowl 2019
THe eagles scored with 7 minutes (ish) left in the first quarter. They didnt sniff the endone for 3 1/2 quarters. Thats literally the definition of being shut down.- The Road To The Super Bowl 2019
Foles did play terrible. 2 scoring drives to start the game then poof...real foles shows himself. Really should have only been 1. I think the Saints DB are still trying to figure out how they lost Matthrews so bad on the ol' foles lob it up and pray ball. After those drives, it was INT, 6 straight punts, INT. Game was a lot closer than it seemed score wise. Felt like the Saints could move the ball, for the most part, at will. Huge time of possession difference. 9 Total possession (not including the last that sealed it) and 6 of their 9 were 7+ plays. Saints had the ball for literally almost the entire 3rd quarter on 1 single drive. Eagles front showed up but that's about all for them. next weeks games might be better than the superbowl.- New tatula rods and reels
Yes, I do use KVD line and lure from time to time. Usually I'll try to remember to spray it on after a trip or the night before. As far as favorite fluoros, I've settled on Shooter in 14-20 for anything bottom contact and sunline FC sniper/Sunline Reaction (now I think it's called fc crank) for most moving baits. I use 10# FC sniper for weightless and wacky senkos. Also use McCoy mean green for spinnerbaits and soft swimbaits. Cheap but it's some of the best handling/toughest stuff around.- New tatula rods and reels
I've listened to Seth Feider say he uses some specific knot that passes through it without issues. I've read others do, too. Personally, I don't use leaders so I don't know. Straight braid or straight fluoro.- Diawa sv options (no t-wing)

Again , as somebody that actually DOES know...as I own a lot of them, and repair/maintain mine and others, the difference in the reels isn't "80$ worth of bearings at a 250$ upgrade". \ Bearing's don't "turn a reel from a 100$ reel to a 300$ reel! for 40$!". Youtube hype is just that. Hype and nonsense. Flushing and cleaning stock bearings is all that ever has to be done. If it doesn't improve it, the bearing was bad. Spool bearings, depending in the quality, are the only thing were casting distance is improved and it's usually due to the bearing being more consistent and fluid than a stock one. levelwind, pinion, drive shaft, and upper drive shaft bearings don't get used in the way spool bearings get used. The RPM that are used are so low, a high end bearing/high ABEC rating has zero effect. It ONLY has to be smooth and free of any rough spots. Your throwing money away spending that on an upper drive shaft bearing...and this is again coming from somebody that will spend 40$ on ZPI spool bearings when stocks are bad. The differences between reels as they go up, is largely spool and tolerance related. The price point is called "enthusiast" for a reason. The reels are(Since we're talking about Dawia, we'll compare a Tatula 100 to a Steez SV TW) much smoother, the tolerances are tighter/perfect, and the spools are better/lighter. Spool bearings aren't much different between each class. Lubrication might be due to quality control. It isn't a different braking system as you're calling it. It's a different inductor and type of spool. There seems to be this misnomer that you'll be making these unicorn casts with a 500$ reel over a 100$ reel. Casting is almost all user. Take the tatula 100 vs the Zillion SV. You aren't going to cast the zillion, all things equal, some magical 30 more unnecessary yards further. \Higher end reels are bought for small nuances like perfect tolerances, upgraded handle materials, and spools to name a few things.- The Road To The Super Bowl 2019
Looks like Foles' deal with Jesus ended sooner than later.- New tatula rods and reels
If you're reel made some dramatic difference in feel between this ceramic upper AR bearing vs stock, you had a bad stock bearing. As somebody that owns multiple of these high end reels, cleans, fixes, maintains, and buys parts for.... no, you aren't getting 80$ worth of bearings in there. And they aren't being upsold for 250$.- New tatula rods and reels
Not even close. It's a good casting reel, but what you did comes stock in their higher end reels except their drive shaft bearings are much higher quality than bocas ceramics. Unless your upper drive shaft bearing was bad, spending extra money on a cermamic to put in its place is a useless waste of money..and this coming from a guy that spends a lot on aftermarket bearings and spools. That bearing does nothing except for on the retrieve.- New tatula rods and reels
It's been out since last year. The spool is the same style as the regular Tatula that utilizes a spool shaft. It's not free floating.- Faulty Drag On Daiwa Tatula SV TWS?
That's not true. Reel's don't need more than 3 bearings, but companies advertise 11. Buyer's see this larger number and immediately think that a higher drag/more bearings is somehow better when 9-10# of locked down drag is more than adequate for anything bass fishing. As for your issue, I just got done servicing a Tatula SV. It has has very minimal in and out handle play. It's not noticeable when using it. I locked the drag down and pulled as hard as I could tied to a post. Drag wouldn't budge. Just resulted in line digging. The reels I use for slop fishing all use bone dry drag washers with a locked down drag and they won't budge unless I hook a car. When a drag slips, it's usually 1 of 2 things. Straight braid with no backing (which isn't your problem) or over lubricated drag washers. A 10 year old has can fix this. You'll need a 10 mm socket for the nut on the handle and then a small screwdriver for the side plate. Pop the side plate off and remove the washers and drag washers from the drag stack and run them dry with a towel. Put them back on dry in the order they came off. This might take you 10 minutes. Handle play can be a a few different things. Your handle is attached to the drive shaft via a nut. So when you pull the handle you're putting the entire drive shaft in and out. It's possible the spacer that sits between the drive shaft and the reel frame isn't there. This is a common issue on the old TD-Z reels where the washer would become worn or misplaced when disassembling. Something could just be loose or came off inside the reel too. You'll see it when you take the side plate off.- Ultrex 2d vs ultrex mdi
I use the previous gen ultrex /w lowrance electronics and use a HDI transducer on it. DI interference are usually install issues. There are very simple fixes to eliminate it if you search for it. I didn't have the option when I got mine a few years ago and want DI up front. If I were buying today, I would use the built in 2d/DI and call it good.- New tatula rods and reels
No, it says it “may be”. Its just marketing hype like the project T videos. Every company does it. Its super smooth for a 100$ +\- reel and casts really well. As for where advertisment came from, I have no idea. Every reel tea leaf always makes it sound “game changing”.- New tatula rods and reels
The new 100 is a nice reel. Stock bearings needed to be flushed and one of the 2 i have were a little dry in the gears but that was an easy fix. The store that outfits sportsmans ( i think you can figure out who that is) sells the new tatula for 99$ /w free shipping.- The Road To The Super Bowl 2019
