  1. They are paying for the rage tail flange license to use on their baits. The patent number they use on their baits is stamped right on the front of the packaging. I'm guessing that wasn't cheap. Probably why their baits are so expensive.
  2. Literally says right after that *restrictions apply see bps or cabelas.com for details. Website says clear as day at the top it's 50$ min order.
  3. just buy a volt meter and check it that way. Takes 5 seconds
  4. A life time "replacement" program isn't a "free replacement". The warranty covers defects, guides, reel seat failures, and other small things. If your rod doesn't break within the first year, it's not defective. Fishing a few times a week, if your rod doesn't break within a couple months, it's not defective and a breakage is user error, neglect, etc. Most companies, i.e dobyns and st. croix, offer a replacement rod for a fraction of the cost. It's usually +/- 100$ for the high end rods and less for the lower tiered rods. There are times that companies will give you a free rod but that's an exception, not a rule.
  5. Go to the Gloomis website site and search the rods.... It's all on there. The first 2 numbers in 822 are the length in inches and the last number is the power. 822 SYR is a 6'10" 2 power shakey head rod. SYR is short for shakey head rod. DSR is drop shot rod. MBR is Mag Bass rod, JWR is Jig and Worm..etc.
  6. Very true. The "SV" spool before there was SV spools.
  7. No, they weren't. The Daiwa sol was a 200$ reel. Literally dead set as "mid priced" They've had both mid and high end "light bait" reels for a long time. You've been able to get sub 200 reels and put in shallow spools that still put you in the "mid priced" range for almost just as long.
  8. No, light line/light bait specific reels from daiwa have been around for over 13 years.
  9. I dont remember how thick his clicking drag is but try and take out one of the drag key washers thats the same thickness and see if that works.
  10. Although unlikely you wore out the gear set after a year, it's possible you stopped a cast early, thumb bar came up, etc and created a bur on the gears. What you sound like you are experiencing is the "MGL gear buzz" that is the biggest complaint of the Met MGL. The fix for this was putting the Curado K gears in the Met MGL and the reel went from people's least favorite to the "smoothest reel ever". I'm not sure if the Curado K gears fit the Chronarch MGL. Buzz gears/bad gears will be more prominent in an MGL reel as the frame isn't aluminium. Whenever I'm either fixing my reels or others, gears are always the last resort. There's a lot of smaller, though tedious but cheaper, things to try first in this order: Break the entire reel down and clean it. Relube it correctly. All frame and spool bearings flushed and relubed correctly. Check for any back play/missing pieces in the AR bearing. Check drag stack. If you get a used reel and it's buzzing, previous users sometimes don't put the drag stack back together correctly or put the wrong size key washer in. Drag stacks have to be in correctly. These reels have a set tolerance and missing one will cause the gears not to align correctly. Replace all the frame/spool bearings. You can replace one by one but in my experience it's annoying if you find 1 bad frame bearing this early. I just replace them all as I have lots of spares. Replace gears IN A SET. don't just do 1. Most of them time when the reel is butter smooth without a spool and then you put the spool in or a load on the reel, it's the gears. Sometimes it's the pinion bearing but it's most of the time been bad gears in my experience.
  11. I've just never had these problems that people have /w the 90 and I've fished them for a few years. No reason for me to switch.
  12. Totally agree. I will take any 90s people don't want. Totally different lure than the 75. Doesn't "replace" the 90 at all.
  13. use mono backing behind the braid. Could be slipping on the spool.
  14. Then dig that pocket book out of your purse and buy one
  15. Noises mean different things to different people and are impossible to diagnose without a video or having hands on it. Send it to shimano for warranty repair.
  16. 90 runs fine for me and lots of people. Never read river2sea saying they made the 75 for that reason. Elite and MLF guys were throwing the 90 quite a bit on broadcasts. The 75 was made because the plop noise of the 130/110 was wanted on a more compact bait. The 90s a different sound than the 75. They didnt replace one another much like a plopper didnt replace a buzzbait.
  17. @Mike L Hope your daughter is okay bud! @Jrob78 How you guys let me get Brown, Hopkins, Gronk, and Howard is beyond me. I'll be rosterbating for the next few days.
