Daiwa Mystery
My Alphas CTSV came in today from Digitaka. That 30mm spool is CRAZY small but it does hold more line than I anticipated..which is good. It's a pretty fast spool too but I only have yard time /w it at the moment. So far I really like it. Very smooth reel. 80mm handle gots to go... That USDM price tag for the steez is a joke. It's 250$+ cheaper on the JDM sites...

Daiwa Mystery
They are already available for JDM retailers that can keep them in stock. 460$. SV isn't a reel. It's braking technology found on spools. My alphas CTSV will be here this week. Digitaka has good prices on them.

Are these el-cheapo metal guides on my Daiwa rod?
They aren't "garbage" but cheap guides and cheap rods go hand in hand. Something the megaforce series of rods and reels are.

Dobyns LIGHT Flippin Stick
the xtasy 755 is in between the DX745 and DX746 power wise. The DX745 will be more than ideal for a 3/8oz Trig.

Rod action of the pros
They're all using custom made rods from the North Pole forged from the blood of a centaur and epoxied /w the tears of baby unicorns.

Can I run a sonar unit without the transducer connected?
Yes. I do it all the time in the winter to update graphs in my house.

Looking for Best finesse Daiwa baitcaster, anyone try the new smaller tatula 100?
Remove the spool side shim or the shim under the CC knob. It will take you 2 minutes. You don't need to open up the reel to remove them. Zero adjust is just there for people new to baitcasting reels. If you use different spools in reels /w it, you have to adjust the CC knob anyway. The reason your DIY spool is difficult to use unless you back the CC knob off is because of the length of the spool shaft. It's a cheap spool and imperfections are notorious for them. Sometimes you have to play /w shim thickness' or using one side or the other without the other. Polishing them down /w a dremel is also an easy alternative.

The DIY spool for the CT does indeed work in the new 100. Remove a shim.

Black Label Tackle
Lol well...if you get ones he actually tunes, they are great and worth the price. The problem seems to be over the past few years, his quality control is lacking. There's been quite a few reports on some FB groups of crooked bills, hook spacing not the same across the same bait, baits different sizes/weights etc. Balsa is obviously different from bait to bait but these are things that can be controlled that aren't. I've got a couple old lil hunters that are dynamite and hunt as well as E-1's but I've also had a few different models that would just run sideways and had glaring faults I just sold them. I did just order a couple of his new "lil guys" that are a little slimmer than a WEC Mutt that I'm pretty excited about if they are done correctly. Couple guys told me he put a lot of time into this one so I'll give it a shot. Zoom's are still top notch for me but John Hott, Barron, Barr, Jawjacker, and Norm all do as good if not better work.

They're okay. Good not great relative to other wood baits.

Daiwa TD-Z vs New Daiwa reels?
The TD-Z frame and the Steez SVTW frame are the most comfortable palming reels Daiwa has made. I see you have an SV 103. The TDZ 103 is the same frame but much lighter. Tuned correctly, they are some of the smoothest reels you'll use as well. There's endless spool and dress up parts available for them. The downside is the 7:1 gear set is getting hard to find from the TT and most, if not all, the parts are gone from Daiwa stock stateside. PLAT still has parts in stock though. First thing you have to do is put Carbontex drag in them. Stock drag is garbage. If you're going to take the TD-Z plunge at this point, look for a Type R+, ITO, or an AOI.

The new Tatula 100's spool weighs 17g. It's nowhere in the realm of being anything close to a finesse casting reel. 1/8oz weight and a worm isn't finesse. Any casting reel and a M action rod can throw those. The SV105 is your chepeast route if you want to actually go "finesse". You can also go used and look for a stock Pixy.

Where to get reels cleaned in Central, Minnesota for decent price?
20-25$ Per reel + shipping is what you’re going to pay for somebody that knows what they’re doing. I do believe DVT offers a discount for BR members.

The new tatula 100 isnt a finesse reel. It just fot lost in translation being called finesse. Its just a smaller platform tn the current CT size reels. Still a deep spool reel. The alphas sv105 would be a far better option for light line and light baits.

megabass gen 1 orochi XX diablo spec R- Daiwa Tatula Reel Size
It will hold up great. Brass gears as well. Sportsman warehouse sells them for 99$- Daiwa Tatula Reel Size
It's not a finesse reel. It's just a smaller size frame than the CT model. It will be fine.- Siebert Outdoors's Dredge Docker Rocker - Should I?
I'm pretty simple /w Jig trailers after years and years. Kinami/Yamamoto Psycho Dad, Power Team Lures Craw Dourve (no chance I spelled that right), and a rage craw. It's a beefier hook. I've used it a little bit and I think I still have some left. It's a great hook Mike puts on it. I just prefer the Owner Deep throat.- Dobyns Champion 734 ??
It's what most would consider "MH". It's not a finesse or light bait rod. It handles 3/16tungsten + bait up to 5/16oz weight + bait well. I use mine as a swim jig rod.- Which Steez On Destroyer FMJ ?
It's the SV spool that comes stock in the Steez SVTW. You can order it from most any JDM retailer. The stock zillion SVTW spool is a less expensive alternative that performs really well, too. The ZPI NRC PG and M spools are super for casting in the steez SVTW/A platform as well. Waiting for my PG color to show up. The A is a decent spool but relative to what's out there and what comes in others, I wasn't impressed. - Dedicated Chatterbait Rod
