Where could I go to get my boat and trailer weighed and how much would it cost?
Any dump/landfill will have a scale that dumpsters go in and out of daily when dumping trash. Towing that much weight that close to the max tow rating is a terrible idea.

What is a popular opinion you disagree with?
Coloring the last X amount of feet of braid black to "blend in" but we use black lures to stand out.

when a warranty is a joke
Perhaps you could have taken 5 seconds to look up what the actual warranty for Phenix rods was and this would have been a non issue....You're also forgetting the definition of a warranty has context that you're reading over. "Within a reasonable amount of time". 3 years is beyond that. Every company's warranty program is different. If every warranty was just implied as "free or replace" the word Warranty would just be stamped on the tag without any fine print. The word warranty doesn't mean "Opps, the product broke, oh well I get a free one". I get it, your upset you broke your rod but this isn't Phenix's fault. They're very clear about the warranty.

Thoughts on Huk Icon X, Underarmor Iso-Chill, Simms, Columbia, etc
Columbia PFG is my favorite followed by the new aftco stuff and some simms items. I didn't care for Huk. Not a bad product but the brands I listed fit and feel better. That's what you should be worried about. I'm 6'3 210-220 depending on chinese food ?. I can't stand sun shirts, or shirts in general, that don't have a little extra length in the sleeves and waist. Columbia PFG and Aftco seem to run longer in their Large size so I stick with that. You short folk will be fine with any of them.

DVSHOCKTUBE
Don't wire your electronics to your accessory switch and don't use the house power on your boat. Run dedicated 10-12g wire for each unit directly to the battery and fuse the hot wire on each connection or run them through their own fuse block i.e blueseas. Always do this /w your electronics.

"Geary" Chronarch MGL
You're just " that guy" that responds to posts that are almost a year old. The MGL reels prior to the bantam (most met, some chronarch) had/have a widespread and notorious gear issue that is called "The MGL gear Buzz" for short as the reels that have the issue have the MGL spool. "The MGL reels" would have been more clear apparently than "An MGL reel".
-
when a warranty is a joke
Because this issue is the OP and everybody else in this topic that things "lifetime warranty"= free lifetime replacement. If you or the OP had taken 5 seconds to read over the warranty for Phenix, this would be a non issue. It says literally at the top of the page : Shipping fee is required, regardless of the outcome of warranty. This warranty does not cover any damage to this product that result from fire, intentional breakage, accident, abuse, misuse, natural disaster, repair, or modification. His rod is 3 years old and the bold out portion is what his issue falls under. Phenix did nothing wrong or misleading.

Cast Control Knob and Potential Reel Damage
Don't know why you would want to not use the CC knob but sure, go for it. If you're concerned about washer replacement cost, to give you an idea, they are 1$ each from Daiwa. Shimanos will be nearly the same.
-
Cast Control Knob and Potential Reel Damage
Not sure why my post got deleted but w/e. The spacers in that reel aren't unique. Part numbers get updated frequently and the spacers in a shimano CC knob are easily replaced and readily available.

What is your fishing vehicle ?
2018 F150 STX 2.7. Tows like a dream up and down the huge hills we have with ease. MPG are amazing, too.

Tatula CT vs. New Tatula 100
Zero adjust means that the spool tension is preset from factory in the optimal tension (very minimal spool side to side play) so the user only has to adjust the mag breaks. You can still adjust the spool tension. It's harder to do on my SteezSVTWs but it's easier to adjust on my Steez A's and Tatula 100s. If you've been using a reel for longer than 2 weeks, "zero adjust" features can be ignored and should have zero bearing on buying/using a reel. I prefer the 100 over the CT. The 100 is slightly larger than the Steez SVTW/Steez a frame and palms great. Performance wise, they're nearly identical. The 100 spool is "lighter" but nothing to write home about. They aren't "identical" inside, I.E you can't swap many parts, but material wise -gears, bushings/bearings in spots, they're the same. Mind you, both of these reels are mass produced, entry level reels. Both of my Tatula 100s very under greased. Opened them up, cleaned them, re lubed, and they are uncharacteristically smooth for a 100$ reel. you can get the 100 at sportsman warehouse for 109$ every day.

Mike Long
That's definitely not him. The "I should be banned from YOUR MOM" gave it away. The comments are funny though. So is he just fishing essentially a "bubba shot" but instead of using a bait he's using a weighted treble hook? I can't tell from the video but is he just sight fishing these large bass and trying to snag them or are they actually being mouth hooked /w the treble?

New Technology: Whats your favorites?
My favorite thus far is the TI2 wireless networking. The only thing i personally need to share through units is waypoints. I use navionics at the console and c-map auto chart (which is amazing in itself as well) up front. C-map details are fantastic and I can graph the wp in better detail.

Leak of the new Daiwa Tatula Elite reel
None of these are new. SV spools have been around for 8+ years. This new Elite is essentially an HLC /BBS that daiwa has been making for close to a decade in different variants. You are just now seeing it on entry level, budget friendly reels IE: Tatula.

Shimano lifetime warranty
lifetime warranties cover manufacturer defects. Contrary to what people for some reason or another believe, lifetime warranty isn't a "free replacement for life". Defects show up within the first few months of use, not years. Your rod broke years after it was purchased. They don't have anything to honor in this case. You could contact them and see what they say. There are times you could get lucky and be a exception and get a free rod but more often than not, you won't in this case.

shimano metanium Mgl
You aren't wrong there and definitely not alone. If I remember right, it has something to do /w the material of the pinion and main gear. I think the pinion is brass and the main gear is aluminium alloy or something along those lines. Dropping the Curado K gear set into them turns it into a butter smooth reel. Gear set is pretty cheap from shimano, too. Shame you have to do that to fix it, but for those that did it, it was 100% worth it.

Aluminum Boat Recommendations
That boat will be super tipsy for 2 people. If you're sitting down, you should be okay in small waters.
-
shimano metanium Mgl
These specific reels are notorious for the "MGL Buzz". You can do 2 things. Return it. Put the Curado K gears in it and the buzz will go away. I didn't metnion re-lube it because that's just a band aid. The metanium gear set issue is a widley known problem over on TT. Some have it, some don't, some deal with it, some don't notice it.

Spinning Reel Suggestions
Really like the Fuego LT so far.

Leak of the new Daiwa Tatula Elite reel
I think you're spot on. Being the morethan is 6.8-7.2 depending on gear ratio, I'm going to assume this new tatula will be 6.9oz /w brass gears. I'm just guessing here that the zaion drag star, maybe some bushings over bearings, possibly an aluminium shaft or even ported and the lighter spool are what put a should be 7.1-2 oz reel in the sub 7oz range. Either way, probably going to pass on this one. The Alphas CT I've had some use so far has been outstanding and a steal at the JDM prices I got it at.

Leak of the new Daiwa Tatula Elite reel
Zero adjust only means it set at the factory. You can still adjust the spool tension. It is no different than any other spool tension knob so a reel having "zero adjust" or not should have absolutely no bearing on a reel purchase. All my Steez SV TW's have it.. Going on TA description of the reel, it sounds like a new HLC model w/o calling it HLC. Lighter, deeper spool for a fast start up /w a tuned rotor. It will cast a heck of a lot further than the tatula SV but will have noticeably less control.
