This time me and my good friend Randy Beasley (on this forum too) went to his house and fished two ponds down the road. It was a pretty warm day got up into the 60s with some gusts up to 15 mph. As darkness fell and the air became chilly for me, and Randy's girlfriend. I had fished all day in the ponds with spinner-baits and a wacky rigged YUM Dinger (Green watermelon pepper back with pearl belly), no luck. So I decided to switch baits, and I went with something that produces a little more vibration. I reached into my tackle box and I picked out my chartruse chatter bait. About the second cast out, BANG! a 13". I threw him into the livewell (going to put the bass we caught into my pond). I then worked my way to the dam of the pond and cast it parallel to the bank maybe 5 feet off and this time POW! a 14-15 incher! Threw him into the livewell. (every time I caught these bass I yell across the pond to Randy and his girlfriend, "Got one!".) I then made another cast towards the middle of the pond, and worked the chatterbait back to me. It got within 2 feet from the bank (my feet!) when a smaller crappie or bluegill grabbed it, but when I went to set the hook it popped out. It was a nice day and I had fun. Felt bad catching something and Randy and his GF didn't. But that's fishing.... Randy if you read this, next time we are going on Lake Orange and we're taking my "V" Boat! 8-) Needless to say I released the two bass into the pond and there are a total of 4 big bass in the pond now. By spring, I hope there will be more! (I will add more!)

I don't mean to sound weird here or anything, but some people who I know and talk to everyday tell me that they can't find (my) my_space account in the search on my-space, even when I told them my url (Number01hunter). So I tried to basically search myself (not logged in of course) and I couldn't find myself lol. I searched my name and typed in the zip code, couldn't find it. Typed in my url in the address bar and it came up...so this is weird... Anyone ever encounter this problem? But anyway, for those of you who want to see my_space just type in my url in your address bar...I am relatively new to myspace (joined a month or two ago) so can anyone who knows possibly tell me why this has happened (why my page isn't in the search on my_space?) Thanks

  5. I've met one person from the site and he is the Conservation Officer for Virginia; Hillbilly_Hooker aka Robert Blankenship. And I've talked to LBH about that creating a video thing on Windows Movie Maker. I would love to meet many other guys and hook up and go fishing sometime, that would be a thrill. God bless 8-)
  6. I've read some people perfer other bands than Metallica but they don't HATE metallica. I've read many people take Magadeth or BLS over Metallica, but not me. Is anyone interested in that growl metal? I'm not, I like something that I can understand and sing along to it without making my throat sore ;D God bless 8-)
  7. Yeah I forgot about Mudvayne, Linkin Park, Disturbed, (sometimes) 3 doors down, and many others... lol, yeah it is kind of unusual out where I live to be a rock/metal fan, everyone out here is country and rap...I only know 3 other people that like rock/metal: My brother, my friend Derrick and my other friend Ethan (Ethan is also in our angler program, I am trying to convince Derrick to join...) Everyone else is Country, Rap or hip hop... :PI like country too but I also like rock/metal and I HATE RAP
  8. I am too young to drink but that don't stop me sometimes!!! ;D ;D : 8-) 8-)

  10. I thought that rabbit I hit last night looked suspicious....I've never seen a rabbit with a basket full of eggs before...at least in person... Sorry folks! ;D :'(
  11. Went back out to Lake Orange today...the temps were in the 80s and they were calling for evening showers so I wanted to get out there before it all hit. I got out there at 12:45pm (I don't have a 4th block class and I get out then). As soon as I pulled up the "T" dock was loaded with elderly people and some older folks fishing for crappie. As soon as the crowd died down a little I decided to hit the dock too (to bass fish). The entire time folks left and right were catching crappie and I was the ONLY one there bass fishing. One man managed to catch 30 crappie! me? I only caught one 11" bass on a green pumpkin/pearl belly YUM Dinger of course wacky rigged. Needless to say I released that baby into the pond (my pond). And was happy to watch him check out the area where I released him, I forgot to take pictures (even though I did bring my camera!) but it was my first bass of '07!! Now that the weather is warming up a little I will be hitting the Lake more! It was fun and I had a good time watching that bass swim around in the pond before jetting off into the depths. He was healthy and due to my bubble box he managed to live the 10 mile trip home. Hopefully he/she will spawn this spring and we will have new bass babies in the pond! The crappie and bluegill in the pond are ACTIVE finally! They are hitting the top of the water getting the bugs that are swarming on top of the surface (and there's millions of them!). Also the frogs are even producing in the pond. I found the carcass of a female frog on the shore when I was releasing my bass and it had a belly full of eggs! So surely we have an abundant food supply for our fish in the pond. I will probably head back out tomorrow if the weather holds up, this time I WILL take pictures or even make a movie! 8-) God bless
  12. Hey all, Was wondering when was the best time to maybe catch some nice cats at Lake Orange (now? spring or summer?), and where to catch them... Here's a topographic map of lake orange (not much into detail...) http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/fishing/waterbodies/maps/Lake_Orange.pdf But for those who do know Lake Orange well, what is the best time to catch them and what bait? Crawdads? Shad (filet or whole (if small) or chunked? Squid (we use squid a lot for catfish)? etc.. I am looking up information on WHAT species of catfish are in the lake that way I kind of get an idea on what to use, etc. but feedback is always good! Thanks! God bless 8-)
  13. ...liquor.... :-X :-X :-X :-X ;D Dog or Cat? (Rather have?)

Amen! No matter if someone has a physical, mental or emotional disadvantage, everyone is still the same inside. We all have feelings and we all can express them. I am with you guys 110% that those terms should in deed be prohibited. I respect everyone I meet (unless they can't afford to give me respect in turn), especially those who are impaired. Not just because I feel bad for them, but because I understand what they are going through; a rougher life than I am and anyone who is let's just say "going through some hard times in life" I always show sympath for. No one's life is perfect. We all have mishaps and we all have problems. There's no need to point out those problems to make fun of someone or to gain attention, it is wrong. > Everyone one in the world needs to be mature about these kind of things and respect everyone. But yet people are cruel and heartless (some people are...I am not saying everyone is). JMO and I am not trying to preach or anything or offend anyone but someone who uses those offensive words to hurt people or gain attention, needs to mature a whole lot more and get a life! >
  15. Just to let everyone know in our area, we are holding a sportsman show at our highschool in the hornets sport center. If anyone is interested in attending or joining the club (like I said before) just pm me or email me for directions to the show. The show will be going on Saturday, March 3rd from 9 am to 5pm, and Sun March 4th from 10 am to 4 pm. It is posted on our website (in my profile) and also on the SouthEast board. As far as I know there will be over 90 vendors there, the trout pond will be there, casting kids event will be there, etc. Looking forward to seeing and meeting some folks from the board and hope you all have a great day! TIGHT LINES! God bless 8-)
  16. Happy Birthday! No spraying ink all over everyone now! ;D ;D
  17. In general you should check out the articles all over the site. They help big time! At the top of the screen where it says 'Fishing articles' put your cursor on it and a menu pops below it. Choose the very first one and also 'tips and tactics' (the 7th from the bottom) to get you started. Check out all the articles, they surely help! Good luck and god bless 8-)
  18. Floro Date a girl/guy with bad breath or bo?
  19. Left hand reels. I use my right hand (dominant) to fight the fish and left hand to reel. Bait Caster or Spin Caster? :-?
  20. BPS Gander Mountain or Dicks Sporting Goods?
  21. *Sighs* Same thing happened to me when I was bass fishing, except it involved a pike, not a catfish... ;D ;D ;D ;D
  22. I also caught two fish on one cast. My mom, dad and I went striped bass fishing and we were using the umbrella rig. My pole went over and it felt like I was fighting a shark! I did the old deep sea fishing reeling where you pull back and reel, repeat. And finally when the fish got to the surface there was a 37" striper on one hook and a 32" on the other! What a fight, I was worn out after that lol! ;D Talk about a double team! ;D ;D ;D 8-)

  24. Similar thing happened to my dad and mom. They wen't catfishing in the potomac and they were using a multi rig (more than one hook) and dad had a nice catfish on the line and it pulled his rod into the water. They spent hours searching for the rod, and finally later on in the day my mom snagged it and brought it back up. But when she did, dad and mom realized an amazing sight! On the multi rigs there was at least 3 nice size catfish on them! This is a true story and my mom and dad keep telling it lol! 8-)
  25. It is also snowing here in Orange County, Virginia. They are calling for at least 3-4 inches. So far we've got 2 1/2 on the ground as well as some freezing rain accumilating later on. Chances of having school is 25%.. ;D The ground is white and I hoped spring was on it's way...now I am not too sure... > BTW: It's my nephew's birthday today! HE is 5 years old!
