Humminbird 798ci si Questions
I have the 797si and I'm very happy with it. When I run the side imaging I only run it one side at a time to get good clarity on the screen. That said yes it is still worth it. I went thru a 2 mile deep creek at Lake of the Ozarks one day and marked every dock with brush piles under it. It would take years to do that with a regular sonar. I'm really excited about the new down imaging as well. Looks like it will really help find brush in deep water. Is it worth the upgrade over the 788? Absolutely. But your not going to get the same results as an 1197 with it either.

Down imaging added now for the 797
I was really bummed about them not offering an upgrade of down imaging for the 797. But I just went to the humminbird website to see if there were any new updates and lo and behold they added it!!! Downloaded it and it is working cant wait to get on the lake and try it. 8-) ;D 8-)

What'd you get?!
We stopped at Cabelas in St Louis on our way home to Kansas City and I hit the mother load. They had Kistler Argon spinnerbait rods marked down from $190 to $69 so i got two of those. And I picked up a 7ft med hvy kistler magnesium spinning rod that was $159 for $49. I had one of the spend $100 get $20 off coupons. And I had $60 in gift cards because I have a cabelas debit card. So I spent $140 for $540 worth of rods. The best part is I was gonna spend all my bass pro gift cards for a spinning rod and a spinnerbait rod so I still have them too. 8-)

Revo owners please respond
I own alot of s models ,1 sx and 1 winch. I see no reason to buy more than an s model. Its as good as any reel I ever used at a much lower price.

LOZ baitfish questions?
cart I love your line minutes north of kohler city. I grew up in that area. What was the kohler city general store or something my mom swears they used to have a barrel of false teeth that you buy teeth out of.

Gambler boats
I am getting real close to buying a Gambler Intimidator bass boat. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with these boats good or bad. The one I'm looking at is a 95. Hows it ride? Do there hulls have good reputations? The one I'm looking at appears to be n very good shape.

Largemouth on an ozark stream.
Also look for water flowing back up the river. Usually youll see this at the end of heavy current runs off to the sides around rocks and trees. Throw a crawdad imitator in there and you will catch fish.

contemplated pulling the plug and swimming back to the truck
lol I started off the year changing my stator ,rectifier and starter. I thought I was good to go until we went to lake fork and hit a stump going very slow but still ruined my clutch dog and reverse gear. So I coudnt go into reverse but we still went out the next morning. I worked my way back into mustang creek. I dropped the troling motor down in the water trolled maybe 50 feets and hit a stump and snapped the trolling motor shaft. So I get $800 worth of lower unit work done and replace trolling motor shaft only to find the armature in trolling motor is also screwed up. So I the spent $200 replacing basically everything electrical in my trolling motor . But man shes runn ing good now. : Always and I mean always have at least 2 grand put back for boat problems.

Largemouth on an ozark stream.
Easiest way to catch largemouths in ozark streams is to fish the slack water. Find a place out of the current and youll usually find em.

Minn Kota parts
I just completely rebuilt my Minn Kota Maxxum 65sc. Everything electrical in my trolling motor is now brand new and i did it for under $200. I ordered all my parts from http://www.mikesreelrepair.com/schematics/ just find your motor and get what you need. I will say everything you order from them will get backordered because they turn around and order parts from Minn Kota but they were able to get every part i wanted.

Hummingbird 798ci & Hummingbird 997c
I just got a 797ci2. The thing is awesome at Lake of the Ozarks. In Mill Creek Cove before i bought it I had 94 docks with major brushpiles waypointed on my GPS .I have been compiling this list for 2 years now. Me and my buddy spent 1 hour with the the 797 and added 36 more. Im just learning the thing. I cant see fish very well yet. I will say if you get the 798, plan on only scanning either right or left at any given time. The scrren just isnt big enough to do both very well imo. Plan to get a new boat next year and put an 1197 on console and move the 797 to the bow 8-).

problem shifting into reverse
I have a 1985 Mercury 90hp inline v6 on my bass boat. This week we were fishing and when I tried to put it in reverse it just kind of made a grinding noise and wouldnt kick in. I ran back to the marina and going forward it ran fine. When we got back to the dock we messed with it and while I put it in reverse my buddy pushed back on the shift cable and it went right into reverse like always. Well we were 500 miles from home so we decided to run it again the next day and not ruin the trip since we assumed the shift rod was just out of adjustment. The next day it locked up and wouldnt go into reverse at all and sitting in what should have been nuetral it was still in forward gear. Well again it ran fine in forward back to the marina. This time we pulled the cowl off and the shift rod had come off the pin that holds it. WE put it back on and now i can pull it back into reverse but it still wont go into reverse . Does this sound like the shift cable is out of alignment or something more serious down in the lower unit?? If it is just a shifter cable can anyone explain how to reset it or am i just better off taking it to the shop and having them do it. How much do you figure it would cost to have the cables replaced? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Longview Lake
2 hours for me to gravois mills on Lake of the Ozarks and hour and a half to Truman. I only fish Blue Springs if limited by time . Its not as bad as i made it sound i guess but there are much better options.
-
Longview Lake
You have to get a jackson county permit for your boat . I pay 100 per year for a 90 hp motor. Longview and blue springs both are trash from Memorial day to labor day from the skiers and jet-skis. I've caught some decent fish from Blue Springs and always struggle on Longview. As far as Jacomo you can only have a 25hp motor or smaller because of the precious sailboats. > I still dont see why they dont alternate each year. Have Longview as a fishing only lake 1 year with pleasure boating on Blue springs and then switch the next year.

Small Mouth - TRL
Go to the dam, go across the lake to the opposite bank of long creek. Work a grub from there to Arkansas.

CLEARWATER LAKE,PEIDMONT,MO.
Use to fish it alot. Was a real good nighttime lake. Used to tear them up on headknocker buzzbaits. If you put in at bluffview and run towards the dam. on the left bank there were some good brushpiles that held bass.
