  2. I use the bass pro shops rod sleeves and love them. I also got automotive touch up paint pen and painted on each sock what is on that rod. I have 10 rods in my box and 3 on deck plus the one I'm using . I never have any trouble getting a rod out ,just look in read which lure I want and the rod slides right out.

I played religiously till I got my boat last July. I have played 54 of the top 100 public courses in the US. All of our vacations revolved around going where those courses were. But now if it is nice enough to golf then I'd rather be fishing. And when I think of $60 greens fees all I see is 4 lucky crafts. As far as clubs and such goes . You can find good deals on ebay. And as far as learning goes get a teacher and stick with him. Bouncing from magazine article to magazine article with tips from different pros who swing different ways will just screw you up. Good luck this year.
  4. My first tournamet was a work tournament in 91 or 92 . We fished all night.Me and partner weighed 5 fish and I caught all of them . WE won the tournament and i won big bass with a 3lber. WE thought we were ready for the pros. We joined a club and fished 3 tournaments and didnt catch a fish in any of them. That was the end of our tournament fishing. Using this year to learn lakes around here better and plan to join a club next year.

  10. I've had a few good days at Lake of the Ozarks around boat docks fishing it like a jig . I'd let it fall and pick it up till I felt the vibration then I'd sit it back down. Worked well like this.
  11. The boys who fish the banks below the dams need to learn to do this.Cant be good on the thumb.
  12. Buddy uses crankin sticks. I've fooled with them a little bit , feels pretty good for the money.
  13. Golf is for sure a sport. If you dont think there is defense in golf you havent played a Pete Dye course. He builds plenty of defense into his courses as do all architects. Fishing is kind of a tough one. Now my biggest bass is only 7 lbs 4 oz but my grandma could have reeled it in with the right drag setting with no problem. That said it is definatley a skill ie the better you are the more you catch. All who have played football would find it hard to compare the two.Fishing has sent me home with a tired shoulder ,football sent me home with a seperated shoulder. I would have to say no it is not a sport. It is a definate skill and it can be a competition but so can pie making.
  14. The problem is all companies are starting to build there products in the country they plan to sell them. For better or worse its the Global economy. Toyota builds plants here to sell cars here . GM builds plants in South America to sell cars in South America . My first coice buy US made from a US company Second choice buy US made from foreign company(at least this supports the workers) Third choice buy foreign made from US company(least profits come home) Fourth choice foreign made from foreign company only if 1-3 are not available.
  15. Yeah and your GMC vehicle is assembled right here 20 miles from León where I live .... in Silao, Guanajuato Mexico. Your right 6% of those vehicles come here as overflow for the other 4 north american plants when they cant meet demand. 32% stay in Mexico and 62% of those vehicles are sent to South America mostly Brazil. Also It wouldnt be my GMC. My GMC Envoy was built in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and my Silverado was built in Fort Wayne,Indiana. My boat was made in Clinton, Missouri. My rods are made in Houston Texas. So far I have bought one Ardert reel also made in Missouri . Will replace the rest of my reels with them as needed. Carhardt jeans and New Balance shoes you have to look for both that are US made but there available.
  16. But the Automobile Trade Policy Council says the domestic content of all Toyota vehicles sold in the United States -- including imported models -- is 48 percent. Honda's is 59 percent and Nissan's 45 percent. For GM and Ford, the domestic parts content is 73 percent, and for DaimlerChrysler, it's 72. : Yes I do work for General Motors my plant is home of the 2006 North American Car OF The Year Saturn Aura and the 2007 North American Car of the year Cheverolet Malibu. 85% US made parts in both vehicles. 8-) .
  17. Man it was windy this weekend . I tried to fish the mouth of a cove where the creeks channel dumps in the old main river channel. All I really did was play bumper boats with the timber. We finally just tied up knowing we weren't going to catch anything but man it was good to get out.
  18. When we know you can be trusted we'll teach you the Abu Garcia secret handshake. Awesome reel you'll love it.
  19. It was bad yesterday KU. We fished Blue Springs Lake and about got blown off the lake. We put ours on and I hardly ever wear one.
  20. Navionics doesnt sell Missouri Maps. No Lake of the Ozarks or Table Rock WTH ? Also no Lake Fork. >
  21. As you run the trolling motor it tracks pretty straight . When we stopped he would just twist the cable and it would turn. You can adjust the brightness of the screen so I assume you could see it at night just fine.
  22. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_95922_200001011_200000000_200001000_200-1-11 I finally got out today and I was skunked but I got to try my underwater camera. This thing is really awesome. The water had about 2 foot of visibility . I went and found a brushpile I knew in 28 foot of water and it worked real good . We even saw a jig in the brush. It really shined in the brushpiles in 15-19 foot of water . It had a very clear picture and we could see bass that looked to be at least 5 feet from camera. Then we went to the creek channel and saw several bass just laying on the rock bottom . It works real well with two people, within 20 minutes we had it worked out where my buddy held the cord while I held the tv and watched the sonar. I would tell him whether it was getting deeper or more shallow and he would pull in or let out cable. I even called a few fish I saw on sonar and said fish coming snd sure enough you'd see him on there a few seconds later. It was only $99 and I definatley recommend it. Can't wait to take it to tablerock in that ultra clear water.
  23. My wife has one of those works very well for her.
  24. 50 for me
