  1. It always kills me to have people with me say there letting them take it. I always ask em if they think the fish is down there juggling their worm or what. :
  2. Maybe those are fish biting and stopping your lure.
  3. Ugh ,the rocket rod was the worst. I got one for my nephew and it broke after about 10 casts . I spent the next hour with him holding the rod while I threw the little capsule that is supposed to shoot out into the lake. A guy and his son came up and asked if it was a rocket rod and he said "isnt that supposed to go out on it's own"? I guess he thought i couldnt figure out how to work it. I agree on the rod ,there are to many good rods made in the US to even consider it if its not made here.
  4. Hoytman the biggest problem with the shallows is there are very few places you can get too. The treeline is at 10-15 foot deep and the bank is 35 feet back in the brush. The were out on the outmost trees and bushes when we were there. hopefully some still will be there for ya.
  5. WE did real good on spinnerbait ,but they are off that now and all the guides are swimming a grub and tearing them up. We ran every day up to the dam area fishing Jakes creek and Indian point the water was alot clearer up there. I caught a 3lb spot off a kids swingset in thier back yard. If you've fished there before you'll be amayzed when you see it.
  6. Yeah it is crazy high. We were down there 2 weeks ago. Big Cedar lodge has an upper and lower parking lot and then the boat ramps drop off from there . We launched out of the middle of the upper parking lot. Here is two pics looking at the same cabin . One at normal pool and the other as it is now. Also got this cool pic down there.

  8. Guides on table rock have been tearing them up this week. Lots of fish being caught in the dam area on spinnerbaits and jigs in the brush on the banks.
  9. May depend on who makes it. I used to work at Delco Battery plant. Us , JCI and Excide were all making batteries for wal-mart. I used to love it when people found out I worked there. They would say I wont buy and AC Delco ,I buy Die Hard or I only buy Delco I wouldnt buy a wal mart battery. Then I got to tell them all 3 were the same battery and we built all 3.
  10. I have a 1985 Mercury 90 hp inline v6 outboard . I went out yesterday and it ran fine all day at its usual 38-40mph until I started it up to run back down the lake to go home . It started fine ,idled fine ,but when i hit the throttle it felt real boggy and did a whopping 9mph back to the ramp. We pulled off the cover and checked the plugs . The top 3 were bone dry and the bottom 3 had oil on them. Cleaned them off and went back out and it ran fine again , back up to its usual 38-40mph. It wasnt smoking alot or anything even when running bad. I always mix exactly 50-1 like it says. Anyone have any ideas why bottom 3 plugs could get oil and other 3 are fine? And what I could do to fix this. Plugs were replaced in fall of last year and look brand new. Would a fuel filter help?
  11. We noticed this at Lake Fork last weekend as well. We couldnt come up with a good reason why either.
  12. lol, neither is me I caught one of the 3's no pic just video.
  13. Well we were supposed to go down next weekend and have a small tournament and go to the Nascar race. But they threw a mandatory Saturday on us for that weekend so we went Easter Weekend. Fishing was very tough all 3 days except 2 hours on Saturday when we got into them. Friday only fish caught was a 8 lb channel cat on a spinnerbait. I thought I had a monster for a minute till I felt his head start spinning . I saw it was a catfish and about puked. Fished all morning Saturday and caught some small dinks and then we ran up in Dale Creek and caught five 7.2, 6.1, 5.4, 3.6 and a 3.1. 24lbs 15 oz in 2 hours on about 300 yards of bank. They next day it was horrible ,it was white capping in the creeks and we gave up early. We had a awesome time down there and will go back next year. I wonder how many lower units are destroyed on that lake a year?We came out of popes landing and i was running the bouys out to the main lake . I had about 5 ft between me and the bouy and saw a stump go by the other side of the boat maybe 10 feet away. Yeesh and I thought Truman Lake was bad.
  14. [ch9632] TRUMAN: 45 degrees, murky, 11 feet high. Outlook: State Park Marina reports: All species poor. Below the dam: water is muddy with floating debris. Rocky Top reporting station reports: Crappies fair on minnows and jigs 5-8 feet deep in channels. Fishermen are catching a few walleyes in swift water below the dam.
  15. I figure when I lose a lure ,they'll make more.
  16. My trip to Lake Fork was moved up to this weekend . Any last minute advice from anyone who has been there lately. We have 10 boats from my work having a 3 day tournament this weekend.
  17. Alton Jones can give you $500,000 reasons Ardent reels are just as good as any other. I'm not saying there better than Garcia,Diawa or Shimano but they are there equal.
  18. I actually have one of these "pieces of junk" and it compares nicely to all my revos. Please enlighten me as to how you were able to decide this was a piece of junk just by looking at it? Must be a Shimano owner ;D :
  19. You seeing alot of bedding bass? Were coming down Easter weekend.
  20. Wading big river with my grandpa catching smallmoouth got me started. But when I got my boat last year it went to a whole new level. I'm seriously obsessed with bass fishing now. It's all I want to do.
  21. I keep stopping on the way home from work and buying more Rick Clunn Lucky Craft crankbaits.
  22. Ive got the $99.00 fish tv one and it really surprised me . We went out last week with it . And i could see brush piles in 23 -25 foot of water.
  23. Number 1 rule deep breath and relax. Take your time and you'll end up being faster.
