  1. The baby 1 minus is still pretty easy to find on the action site. The double stamps are bringing around $20 or so. Thankfully it's not an easy bait to lose. The shallow A was a secret back in the day also but we fished them with the rod held high and slow enough for them to wake like a redfin. They make a good clean up bait when they just swat at a topwater.
  2. Very sorry to hear this. Prayers for him and his family,
  3. something like a dt6 , Rk crawler 50. The rk 55 if you want more depth.
  4. I believe that's a diving balsa B. Should be a 4 or 5 ft diver if memory serves. There was also a kill'r B that ran deeper still. Bagley made a great bait back in the day. They have been sold a couple times and I believe Rapala owns the name now.
  5. My favorite time to fish them is in and around boat docks in the summer. Once the sun gets up they will pull up under the docks for the shade. I use a Dixie jet slab spoon in white,chrome/purple and white /chartreuse. For flutter spoons I like the R2S Watson spoon, It will flutter away from you which makes it nice to get under the walkways and boat lifts and the Dixie jet Talon is good also. One thing I like to do is cut the swivel off of them. You have to cut the line back pretty often because of the twist but I think the fish like to see 'em spin.
  6. I use Daiwa and Shimano going back to the E series. I personally don't think it takes the Rolex of baitcasters to handle a bass but some guys are into that side of the sport. With that said ,I have a Bates on order and if I dig it I'll order a few more.
  7. I have the Plano edge spinnerbait/buzz bait box that went through the tornado and was submerged with the boat for 3 days. All the baits were dry and plastic didn't crack. I think the edge series in general is kinda pricey but I can't complain about the durability and being water tight.
  8. I’m not a fan of the screw locks either. I prefer the keeper that’s on the Davis or war eagle shaky heads.
  9. I did not know that. Thank you.
  10. I throw it post spawn also. If there's some water in the bushes all the better. I just t rig it. I won a guided trip years ago with a really good Table rock fisherman and he showed me how to use it on a Scrounger head on gravel flats and points.
  11. Your getting too hung up on sensitivity, When I had a deal with Dobyns (pre xstasy) I fished nothing but champs and extremes and they did fine. You will never hear anyone say the rods are too good and it gives the anglers an unfair advantage. I like nice equipment but if I had to take every NRX and Steeze out of my boat and fish nothing but Cara's or extremes or whatever I'm going to catch the same fish.
  12. Man, I have a chartreuse/root beer. It makes me a little nervous when I tie it on .
  13. Forgot to mention my favorite balsa flat the WEC Tapp.
  14. I think Dobyns moving bait actions are among the best. For a dragging rod, I personally wouldn't choose an Xtasy over NRX if for no other reason than resale value. To further muddy the water. I'm hearing the new St. Croix X2 is impressive and the 7ft 4 heavy has always been a great jig rod across all lines.
  15. I always have at least 2 on the deck. Speed craws, finesse worm, trick worms and even the 10 inch ol' monster.Just have to get the right weight and hook size . I seldom t-rig anything anymore. I don't see any advantage to it and if you use a head with a good keeper they don't ball the plastic up in the hook gap like a t-rig. I don't know if jig man will agree with me, but I don't think they bite old Ned like they used to .
  16. I don't use anything deeper than the +1 Jr. If that doesn't get their attention it's time to swim a minnow or break out the Rapala ice jig or Dixie jet spoon.
  17. I don't know if he sells them but Jig man's Ned heads are fantastic.
  18. Bomber flat A, if you look around on the auction site you can still find the pre pradco version.
  19. Man, That's waaay too complicated for me. I pretty much know what I'm going to start with in the morning and I may lay those out on the deck the night before, but every thing else gets stuffed into the 2 rod lockers.
  20. I feel like the best way is to have one of each on the deck. I think the one that gets the bait a few feet over their heads is the best choice but I'm new to this FFS deal.
  21. They all show up pretty well. The Bill Lewis scope stick is good .
  22. I always use a Carolina keeper instead of the swivel with a Zoom fish Dr or lizard. It's a summertime deal for me. Use a lead weight not tungsten. Lead will give a little and help you pull it loose, hopefully, Fishing from the bank and dragging it up hill is asking for it to get hung up, much like an A-rig.
  23. I think they are more of a regional deal. I was recently at stick marsh and the BPS there had a load of them as do all the tackle shops in Florida. I've seen guys burn them down there or fish them with a steady retrieve. Here in the Ozarks where we drag worms I have never seen them make any difference over say a ribbon tail or a Finesse/ mag. finesse.
  24. The difference between the Helium and Z bone was actually $ 50.
  25. I throw the 200 quite a bit. If your looking for a wart/rock crawler alternative the 3xd or the Lucky craft 1.5 dd are good choices.
