  1. I throw Big cranks a lot, usually the DD22 ,little John DD and 6xd. I throw them either on a Mojo glass big crankster or a Denali kovert lt 7ft6 MH. Both with curado E5'S. Both are great, the Mojo is a heavier rod .
  2. The line is fine... walk it out and rewind it. The level wind will even it out.
  3. He's in springfield.. Google his website. I really like the the magic craw on Table rock.
  4. Those I'm not crazy about .. try Jakked
  5. I'm around Table rock also, use the local guys like Jakked and Jewel.
  6. Good trip..I've been wanting to try the hidef craw myself
  7. I use some that a local guy here on Table rock makes . If I have use a store bought it's war eagle or crock o gator.
  8. I'll second Tim Hughes.
  9. I stayed at the old bank line mostly. I wouldn't bet against a deep bite, but honestly I haven't tried. There wasn't much boat traffic Saturday . Interested to see what the weekend brings, Just be careful running .
  10. Another 3 inches of rain last night. I got out for a couple hours this afternoon. Still a spinnerbait bite ,but the better fish are coming out of the flooded bushes flipping a brush hog. For me anyway.
  11. I throw nothing but war eagle spinnerbaits. I like spot remover, mouse, hot mouse and purple shad . With the water being stained now cole slaw would be a good option as well. I like the screamin eagle versions, or when things are tough the 1/4 oz versions. On the Keitechs , I like AYU, pro blue red pearl ,and sexy shad. I know some are throwing sight flash right know. When I flip its usually with jig, something like a Jakked dock roc or a jewel pro spider or a brush hog or a beaver style bait, usually green pumpkin or watermelon candy .
  12. Right now we are still 12ft high. There's still a Swimbait bite going on. Otherwise I'm fishing the old bank line in the bushes or gravel with a shaky head or ned. Up the river ,if we have some wind I would try a spinnerbait I would think you could flip the bushes some . Of course Table rock can change daily so 2 weeks from now it probably will fish differently. If it's within your budget a half day trip with a guide is always a good idea.
  13. Personally I wouldn't fish a 3/4 oz jig on a MH. That's a heavy all day long for me. But many times I'm fishing them 40+ feet down. It may be a bit over 200 but the new *** black 7ft4 heavy is a great 1/2 -3/4 oz jig rod. If you absolutely want to stay with a MH the ARK Invoker in the mag medium heavy would work , and it's a great rod at $150.
  14. I've used the big crankster with a E5 for several years and been happy with it. It's not the lightest rod you'll ever fish but it's a great DD22, Z Boss ect. rod. I usually use 8 or 10lb. Invisx.
  15. For a plastic bait I like the 6th sense and The LC's the best.. If you want to try a great balsa squarebill the black labels that Cliff Pace makes are really good and reasonably priced for a custom bait.
  16. I have the Ehrler all purpose casting rod. I've been throwing a spinnerbait on it mostly, but I did fish a 5/16 finesse jig on it some and It's plenty sensitive. It's a well made rod and I like the reel seat. It's not one of the models with AGS. Although I've heard the air guides are nice I don't think I would spend another $ 100 for them since they are all on the same blank.
  17. Well, If I were looking for a great stickbait rod I'd buy a Falcon over all the rods on your list. Either the weightless worm rod or the McClelland signature. Both make great topwater and 1.5 rods also. The Cara is going to be more money up front, but you'll never regret the purchase.
  18. I've owned both the Zodias and the Mojo..The Mojo jerkbait rod is actually a fast action, the topwater is a xfast. I liked them both but I'd lean toward the Zodias. To me it's , its a more comfortable rod to fish and just a great blank.
  19. I checked out the new 210 at Ulrich marine on Table Rock and it's a beauty. Heated seats, night vision , plenty of storage. I've heard the 198 is on the way as well..then perhaps a 187 or 188. Basscat has a Champ 203/puma hybrid in the works ,or so I've been told. Having run Champs for years I'm glad to see them available.. I have a friend who worked in sales at legend for years, He tells me they splashed a Cobra hull to start legend.
  20. I haven't seen anything from them in a while. The repo man topwater bait was popular and got them going. It's the same bait that reaction inovations sold as the vixen.. Both bring pretty good money these days.
  21. Kinda depends on what part of the lake. There's been a good swimbait bite on the kietech 2.8 and 3.8. Some also on the underspin. I think that will last for awhile. Still some on the stickbait like the Mcstick and Vision 110. Up the river I'd try a jig or if we get some wind maybe a spinnerbait. This is the time of the year for Ol' Ned also.
  22. I use them on spooks and some crankbaits, Warts and deep little N's. I think it helps the action some. But it's not a speed thing, I can tie a knot as fast as I can open and shut a snap.
  23. Table Rock is my home lake but I spend some time on Bull Shoals, If I had to pick one it would be a 1/2 or 3/4 oz. football head. But, there's times a smaller profile like a 5/16 ball head like the old Eakins jig will out fish it.
  24. I have 3 stickbait rods in the boat now. My favorites are the Falcon weightless worm rod and the Mike McClelland signature. Also have one of the new *** m. blacks in a 6'10" medium fast that is going to be really good. I think they will be available by the end of the month. The good thing about a good stickbait rod is they are fairly versatile , you can also throw small topwaters and crankbaits.
  25. I've been using a couple of the new one 3 MB series for awhile. I believe they will be out the end of this month and they are really good, not just 200 range good . I always thought the KLX was the best rod in the $200 range but I actually like these better so far. American Legacy should have them soon
