  1. Straight braid for punching and frogging. Mono for everything else
  2. If it's pressured try fishing it uphill. Fish from deep back to the shallows. You'll get funny looks from people being so shallow but it is very rewarding most of the time
  3. You'll enjoy those Sammy style topwaters they are becoming my favorite walking topwaters

  5. Catch 30lb+ stripers on 2/0 or less hooks. Also know of a few guys on here(myself included) who use 11" swimbaits or bigger with 2/0 hooks or less and they catch musky and pike in the 40"+ range.
  6. Cool I was wondering my mother lives on the other side of the river walk in Bibb city. Never could find a ramp in that side.
  7. I throw the 5.8 fat on a mh veritas with 14 cxx on an owner beast 4/0 or on a war baits slayer head in 1/4-1/2 oz variety. Really versatile bait.
  8. I know how big a 2/0 is and that's as big as I'll ever need for fishing for green fish or any freshwater fish. And yes when gator fishing in eufala the guys use anywhere from a 5/0 up to 10/0 treble on braid and a heavy setup to snag em.
  9. A 5/0 treble? That is a huge Hook!!!! That's like gator snagging size!
  10. You only go to collage if you wanna get sponsered
  11. Jaguar capote is the name I think. Some type of cichlid for sure
  12. Where is the boat ramp at lake Oliver? Been fishing the hooch at the end of the whitewater rafting area. I put in at rotary park and run up. The striper fishing has been tremendous there the last 2 trips I took there.
  13. Probably won't be too bad in eufalah the hooch below West Point is daily clean still as well as Harding. The mud may make its way to eufala by the weekend but I'd expect most of it to be fairly clean still
  14. The beast will be way too big for specifically pitching. I'd find a 50-100 size reel. If all you plan on doing is skipping pitching and short cast situations. No need for a lot of line capacity
  15. That's what I use or a copoly in 20 lb
  16. Very few of my swimbait bites are what I'd call a reaction bite. doesn't mean that the bites aren't violent
  17. Fluoro isn't the best line for slack line hook sets. You may end up losing a few spoons if you're not careful
  18. Spotted bass, smallmouth, red eye, and shoal bass all have the possibilty for red eyes. Never saw a largemouth with red eyes. Seen em very yellow but never red
  19. I very seldom use my sonar unless I'm fishing off shore or scouting an area for structure/fish. In shallow water I try to be as quiet as possible. Do I think it helps? I don't really know, but it certainly can't hurt your chances. While fishing with a friend he often has the boats stereo on with his sonar units on and banging around in his tackle storage areas. It doesn't seem to stop him from catching fish tho. I'm sure it probably makes a difference in some places or under certain conditions.
  20. Lol I'll be sure to cite you in my next post
  21. The hardgill in my opinion is the most productive bait out there. If you can't get bit on a hardgill you should probably take up golf
  22. Sow belly is a great read
