Any use for parts of a broken rod?
If it were a expensive rod, id try the method WRB mentioned. Be a good winter project. Otherwise, strip the giudes, tip off for extras. The handle makes an excellent fly or wife swatter

First tournament advice
It will still be pretty cold up till about 12 or so. And it cooler on the water in a moving boat, with the wind blowing spray from the boat ride. Take a stocking cap, works well in the wind and while wet. Pair of fingerless gloves too. Where boots if you got them. And a pair of sweatpants works very well over jeans. Also make sure you take a fully charged cell phone!! Good luck to you

Plano guide series 3710
No sir you didnt miss nothing. This bag will allow the smaller 3600 boxes to fit in the opposite direction. Between the 3600s, and other various boxes, i will have pretty much what i need , but not in massive quantitys. All excess is stored at home in 3700 boxs.

Plano Waterproof Problem
Other than a small safety pin, no. Because of the way the lids made and meets farther down inside the box. Might try glueing a magnet in each section, you can get a pack that will fit the small sections at home depot.

Best time of year to fish i soft swimbait
One other item to get sometime, would be a bottle of MEND-IT. It doesnt take much to fix any plastic, depending on how bad its beat up. I dont know if it works on elaztec baits though. I use repaired ones all the time, especially as jig trailers.

Keitech Swing Impact / Fat -- ElaZtech version?
Kietech swing impact for me. I do just fine not paying the extra for the FATS. Also Mendit is a must, as you will save money on kietechs.

I love braid, but...
I used green braid for years, caught fish. Switched to yellow because of my eyes see it better, catch just as many. People used black dacron all the time in years past, and they caught fish. I dont buy the line shy stuff, but thats just me.

Kickin it old school
Ive used jig n pig for the last 35yrs. And still do today, and always will. If it starts to dry out, just occasionally dip it in the water. I dont use the spotted color, but i have about 30 bottle of the BABY CRAWDAD #32. And 24 bottles of the 101 SPIN FROG. Keepem in a lure wrap also helps the drying out. Dip the whole thing in the water. There was a removal tip that use to be on theiir web site. After you do it a couple times it will come right off

Anyone use lure wraps?
Just put the red ROD GLOVE WRAPS in a bucket, with dawn dish soap, and hot water. Let them soak for a afternoon. Then rinsem out real good. Problem solved. Thats what i did right after i got them. The rapala raps are just fine also.

Spincast Reel; Two More Questions
Try a zebco 33 classic first. Mainly to save some money, and they are little smaller. I would change out the line also, considering how long the reel had prewound line on it. If theres a chance of alot of bluegill, tie on 6lb line, it will drastically aid in throwing the mepps you mentioned. Most of those reels come set up for reeling right handed. A tip to save alot of aggrevation----on the left side of reel, is a screw. Remove it, and put a dab of lock tite on it,and it will keep the handle from coming loose---. All these reels have this issue, even the expensive ones. Good luck fishing hopefully your grandson will show you how to catchem

Best telescopic rod for snook
Id look into getting a 2 or 3 piece travel rod personally. Then if you had too ship it, it would be ALOT less, plus youll get a better rod
