By all means dont throw it out. Ive replaced tips on several rods, in the same situation for friends, and the rods are still in use today. Just make sure the area isnt split farther down. Just like carbon arrows, a split rod is a accident waiting to happen. Just clean up the area for the new tip, so the end is flush. If the tip is pretty close to the next guide,you may want to remove that guide also. Your rod will lack some tip sensitivity, but it will still function. Adjust your drag also. I have tryed all of the flip type, and the fit over type. The fitover or cocoons, eventually cause the bridge of my nose to hurt, because of the extra weight. I went to a local eye glass place,because i was needing new glases. I ended up 253.00 less, but had new glasses and a pair or well fitting polorized prescription glasses. About 125.00 for each. Money well spent.

I have the 7ft. I throw 1/8 oz alot with it,using 20lb braid. I also switch out the spool of 20lb to a thinner braid under 1/8oz.

Might try Barlows, and Culprit has 4.5 on there website. Only about 4or5 colors though.

Plano tackle boxes! I have a few from the 70,80. They were made 100% better made than what you get now. Even the 3600&3700 boxes in the 90s were made of alot thicker plastic, than you get now just better latchs. Planos quality is really flimsey.

Just last week, we were shiner fishin in florida. We used rods with both. There was no difference at all, bait was back 50 to 60 ft from the boat. We caught alot of fish in 10 to 16 ft water.

If thats all that was done. Just put a dab of clear finger nail polish on it, and it will be just fine Done it many times never any trouble.

Well, i stopped at the pawn shop after gettin gas. I came across these 3 rods and one reel. A 5.5 Diawa Samurai $5.00 A 6ft St.Croix Legend series $5.00 A 6.8 Castaway Carolina Honey Rig& Okuma Cerros reel $ 10.00 I think i did ok for 20.00

I know this was not to be about the reel. But one can do all they want to a rod, and it wont mean nothing until you put the reel on the rod. Then try the butt cap with quarters or washers.

I have one of the diawas. In all honest it been a good reel, considering the amount of use its got.

I have 2 both Rapalas. One has a 6inch blade. They are very old,and i keep them razor sharp
