  1. Which jig head are you talking about, as opposed to a standard tube jig?

These are some excellent quality built bait sir. I think im gonna try to make some, to help with the winter months. If you dont mind? what kind(brand) of jig is on the black/chart?

    Im with the KEITECH group.............
  4. In my experience,i have not noticed any difference as far as color of line in catching fish. Ive caught many big fish using line that looked like it had a lazer beam runnin through it and some line as dark as blacktop. Decades ago reels were spooled up with black dacron and caught fish just fine? I have used camo line and caught fish, but i really think its a personal choice? The reason i use yellow powerpro- i can see it better-im a line watcher. Because of the choice i made, have i missed alot of fish? no one can give a 100% definite answer. Just experiment, and you will find what you have confidence in.
  5. Id opt for the 5500 c3 or c4. Because of the amount of line you can get on it for your style? I personnally dont care for the BCX series, but thats just me? Get the reel dialed in,and it will cast a mile...........
  6. I have used both shimano and abu garcia. I think for the price you cant beat the 5500 c-3 or 4600s? They are true work horse of a real. I have had no issues at all with them. Usually i grab the 4600 because of the size, but ill use the 5500 for the bigger baits. I have had these model of reels for 30 years. Good luck this year.........
  7. Great to have you here!
  8. I just picked up the same reel on clearance for 25.00. It seems like a decent reel. As far as the rod,i cant help you. But a rod in that length will be a good all around rod for you.I dont know what the combos cost, but the silver lagunas are now coming in green. Silver discontinued. Might want to check out Berkley Shock Rods 6.6in nice rods, and wont kill the wallet?
  9. My wife wont use anything but her Omega PRO spincast, and she does quite well with it. I use spinning reels just as much as bait casting reels.
  10. Better safe than sorry..... Dont do anything stupid. Make a checklist of things that MUST be in the boat, and a list of just in case stuff like the posts above. Always check the drain plug and have a extra. If you got bad weather coming, its time to go. Carry a small weather radio, small tool kit with electrical tape, firstaid kit. And take your time launching your boat, out on the water, and loading the boat. You will get better the more you do it. Use the same common scense appraoach in hunting, have faith in yourself and youll be just fine..KDW96
  11. I havent heard much about -spiral wrapping- for along time. My dad had one yeeears back. He loved that rod somethin terrible. Fishin a tournament at the ozarks, the rod went in to the lake. We dragged for two hours tryin took hook it,but never did. I wanted to get another for him,but didnt know even where to start.??????
  12. 12lb braid, nice and clean........
  13. This is a old Bass Pro spinner bait..........................
  14. Your stuff will be just fine sir.........
  15. Too much tension at times may cause this? EDIT; Yes braid needs to be spooled tight, but too tight will affect the complete oscillation. Putting tension above the second guide up will help with this. But yours is not real bad.
  16. My dad had one and loved it. But it went into the lake of the ozarks while we were fishin a tournament. 30 degree & high winds. I believe it was to keep the line from touching the rod blank? Never seen one since.............
  17. Culprits in plain black and my favorite-brown maccuson- used those two for years in 6inch
  18. I restocked for along time on Damiki 3&4 inch HYDRAS at half price sale. 25 bags 4inch 25 bags 3inch 12 packs of Decoy hooks Another big bottle of mendit. 1 new reel that i didnt need but price was to good. Now i need another rod for the reel--what a vicious cycle??
  19. Hi pcake55- Ive been where you are now. Alot of great advice has been given here. I bought a 16ft VIP bass boat, and had the same set up. Rod locker was small, etc. Some things to think about are; 1. Does- EVERYTHING- work correctly as it should? 2. Hows the trailer&everything about it ? 3. What is the boat valued at vs price? 4. Is there any way you can take it out to test drive it? 5. How big is the boat your using now vs this one? Many more questions could follow. My point is take your time, if the boat is what you want then go for it. Anyone who buys a boat will at some time try to make it better. Any modifacations (livewells, rodlockers etc.) will not increase the boats value? The boat i had, served me extremely well. It had its short comings, and i modified this and that. But it made many trips ; Table Rock, Lake of Ozarks,Kentucky Lake and we did just fine. Also, see how it pulls behind your truck, through town etc, as it will be abit heavier. Hope you find what your looking for-KDW96
  20. Im headed to town tomorrow,if i find one i will send it to you-KDW96
  21. I dont know of any adapters never have seen any. I think youd have to buy new bases or new pedestals. Id say it would be the safest for you?
  22. I picked up a older minkota pd40- and mounted it just as Long Mike did. Works perfect. Maybe a pick of yours deployed would help to see how much gap there is between them? Hope you get it worked out-good luck-KDW96 Maybe to close causing vibration noise ?
  23. Pflueger President....................
