Punchin Weight Choice
Trial and error. I always like to use the minimal I can get away with. 1 oz is a good starting point and if its hanging up move to 1.25 and so on. If you're punching through with relative ease I might drop to a 3/4 punch but really do I not go less than that. It's not really punching if you're going below that, just pitching.

Double Black- Thanks Ghoti
I got to try some Blue label yesterday for the first time and my uncle gave me a bottle of JW Gold Label reserve. Both are excellent but out of my normal spending range. A definite treat to say the least.

Email Strike King about it. Most likely they'll replace it for you. They have great CS there.

Power Pro Snapping On Backlash
You can expect that all the way up to 40# braid and heavier too depending on the lure weight. Don't hercules your casts and it won't happen. Tune your reel up so it casts effortlessly. Easy fix to that snapping off problem.

Holy Rage Bug Batman!!!
Mine came in too from Siebert yesterday. I got the Summer Craw and Blue Craw colors. Can't wait to throw these in some sloppy garbage. Thanks for the quick service Mike! Big-O, green pumpkin/sapphire or GP/ Purple and Gold fleck additions would be killer for additions in the future. Those colors get absolutely hammered in the northern waters for me.

Dobyns Vs Duckett
Ford vs Chevy. Shimano vs Abu. Cake vs pie....And so on..The topics are almost always heavily opinionated with minimal facts to support and it progresses into arguments and slandering. Completly useless content. I've read through many similar topics and all start and end the same way.

Good god this is getting old.... This vs that topics should be automatically locked.

How Do You Fish Shallow When It's Windy?
Using a spook, popper, frog, buzzbait in chop is just fine. There is no written rule that the water should be glass in order for it to perform. I probably get more action in choppy water than glass because any disturbance in glass like conditions can spook the turd out of them. Other bait options would be a swim jig, spinner bait, chatterbait, squarebill, lipless cranks. Wind and shallow isn't a bad thing, you should fish how you'd normally fish in that circumstance.

Leader Knots On A Micro Guide.
Use an Alberto and cinch slow and in control. Shouldn't be bulky in size. Or just fish straight braid and remove the issue. You can always use a snap on that setup if it permits

Gear Ratio For A Square Bill?
I throw mine on a 705cb glass and a CI4+ HG 7.6:1. I can always reel slower. So far its one of my favorite combos I own.

Finally The Topwater Bite Has Arrived.
Nice fish! You ever test that digital scale of yours? I have the same one and come to find out its a solid 8-9 oz off (on the light side). I have a new scale coming to me now. I know the rapala scales are hit or miss so if you've never checked it you may want to. Not sure that it matters to you but made my head spin a bit when i figured out how far off mine was.

Anyone Use The Heddon Moss Boss Topwater Lure?
Hook up ratio isnt as good as a frog or alike in my opinion. My grandpa threw that moss boss religiously but that was before the really good frogs started being made.

Anyone Use The Heddon Moss Boss Topwater Lure?
Oldie but a goodie. I just cant part from a hollowbody frog or rat to throw these anymore.

Small Lipless Cranks
I agree. Red craw, tomato and sexy shad are great.

St Croix Mojo Bass
I'm a fan of the mojo bass line for moving baits only and I own a few. They're not the most sensitive rods, so I would not use them for jigs or plastics. Like stated in other threads, there are rods in the $100 price range that are a better rod than the Mojo line.
