Having A Hard Time Picking A First Swimbait
Spro BBZ in Wicked Perch, R2S SWaver in Bluegill, 6" Weedless Hudd or 68. All great choices for starting. I got to mess with the SWaver for the first time this weekend and I really liked the action. I got a lot of follows from Pike and a couple landed. Bass were on vacation apparently.

Best Lure Retriever
Speedbead turned me on to the 44 Magnum lure retriever. I have it, but not needed to use it as of yet. Google it to find out more about the product.

R2S Spittin' Wa
I fished a Spittin Wa for the first time over the weekend. It's a nice frog but not in the really thick stuff. I was getting snagged up and flippin the frog over left and right when I was in dense pads. I liked it for areas of sparse pads or open pockets and it chugs water really well. The frog bite on my lake was almost non-existent though. I caught a pike off the R2S in about 3 casts and then nothing from there. I ended up throwing my Koppers frog back on and only managed 1 3.5# bass on that. I will be giving that Spittin Wa another go next season but still not as good as a Koppers frog in my opinions. It takes on a lot more water than I'd like causing it to sit nose up really high or sometimes even sink. You have to give it the squeezy squeeze a bit more often. Not the end of the world though.

Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
Slonezp, Just so you know they're doing bridge repair on the bridge over the Wisconsin River just before it splits to the Dells by that newer rest area on 90/39N. It was worse coming back home than going but both directions are bottle necked and will delay you. Hope your fishing is better than mine....

Chronarch Ci4 Updates?
I don't have the Chron Ci4+ reel yet but I bet it's complete BS. They say that about the Ci4 spinning reel and have yet to experience it. Not with bass fishing, I just don't buy into that statement. Perhaps other bigger fish species but we're talking bass fishing here. If your drag is set right and you're using the appropriate rods, it shouldn't be flexing anything but your rod tip and your arms.
