  1. I have a Chronarch E5, Curado E7, and a Curado DSV 300. They're all awesome reels. I haven't used any of the "G" series yet, but will probably pick up a curado or citica. I think you'll be very pleased with a Chronarch E purchase.
  2. I do as well. I use Cabelas mono. It's dirt cheap.
  3. No. If you have your original box that the reel came in with the purchase, usually there is a small supply of reel oil. That should last you a long time. If you don't have it, go to your local bait shop or sportings good store and there should be plenty of choices. I use Shimano oil because I have a ton and it comes with my reels. You can use Rem oil, Abu Hot Sauce, Shimano oil, Ardent...the list goes on. 1 drop per bearing. They should be flushed first though before you oil them up.
  4. Strip it down and clean it. Flush the bearings, oil them, clean the gears and grease them. If it's never been done that's probably it. If you're not confident, send it to DVT. DVT is a sponsor, you can find the link to the site on the right side of the website.
  5. I have the Hero3 Black Edition. While I haven't used it a whole lot yet (winter).....from what little I have it's an impressive little camera. I got mine to film fishing mostly so I'm excited to put it to work. My problem is my pc's at home are very outdated and to do any solid video editing I'm going to need to upgrade there. I've watched a lot of videos done with them and the diving videos are remarkable. I would say GoPro would be your best bet for a lower budget camera. It comes with the waterproof housing so you can get in the water right away.
  6. Well i just won a Stradic 2500 FJ on ebay but im still going to get a CI4. I can swap the fj with an old reel. Do the trade in at BPS and save some bucks for the CI4. Now to decide on that rod.
  7. Thanks Jeff. Is that a drop shot set up for you? I was planning on the LTB610MLXF. I have all Croix rods but was considering changing it up.
  8. Thanks for the heads up.
  9. I just lost a lightly used CI4 on ebay for $140 at the last second. Almost punched my monitor out. lol
  10. I think I saw it in another thread. He's got the corked Hawgtech knobs or something correct?
  11. Thanks for all the feedback so far everyone. Appreciate it.
  12. John, What rods did you pair up with these reels? Are they 2500?
  13. All you guys using the Ci4 happy with it? This is my next possible buy and just want to get some positive feedback for reassurance before i do. Planning on pairing it to a LTB as a drop shot set up.
  14. 1/4oz to 1/2 oz MH. 1/2oz to 2oz get the heavy. Or get both so you can cover all jig weights.
  15. Sounds like you won too! Congrats
  16. Incredible fish Jeff.
  17. I like the money minnow too, however I prefer SK Shadalicous for hollow belly paddle tail swimbaits. They last longer than the money minnows I've fished. That's a heck of a deal though. Thanks for the heads up!
  18. Spiderwire Invisibraid. Terrible line. It was like trying to line your reel with plastic they use to make Christmas garlands out of. Maybe they have enhanced it now but I never looked back at it again.
  19. Resurecting this old thread. Barbaqoa Tacos 1-3 lb boneless beef chuck 1 package of Archer Farms Barbaqoa Seasoning (Target carries this) 1/8-1/4 cup of water depending on beef size 1/8 cup of vinegar (white or apple cider) 1 package of your preferred white corn tortillas (I use El Milagro) 1 package of shredded mexican cheese Salsa Verde Fresh chopped cilantro Fresh chopped onion Fresh sliced lime Sour cream (optional) Rub seasoning on beef. Put 1/4 cup water in bottom of crockpot and about 1/8 cup of white vinegar. Slow cook for 8 hours on low. Shred beef when finished. Server in tortillas with favorite toppings. Trust me the LIME is great on it. Server a side of mexican rice, refried beans, or whatever else you like. Simple easy delicious. Having it for dinner tonight!
  20. I went to my DSG. Man have they reduced their selection. Didnt find any good rod deals. Ended up using a gift card for some Rage Tail and Missle baits for super cheap.
  21. I've tagged a number of smallies on SK RES. Chili craw and orange craw are great producers.
  22. I have 40lb on my Rage rod...seems to be just fine to me. I think you're safe.
  23. All these Croix deals are making me quite envious. Ill have to stop by mine more often i guess.
  24. Yes.......absolutely. My "home" lake in Wisconsin is roughly 70 acres only. Very small. I couldn't imagine more than 30 guys fishing from shore to make it fair in terms of "space" given to each angler. If it were a boat tournament, I feel that even 10 boats is a lot. 75 acres is not very big at all.
