  1. Thanks. I was looking through it. No exact matches. Im trying to find something as close as possible.
  2. Does anyone have an image of how the Quantum flip switch and spring are assembled inside the reel? This is an old Quantum reel which has actually turned out to be a great reel for me. Anyway, I was tearing it down to clean and lube it back up and I shot the flip switch and spring out before I got a good look how it was in there. If anyone has a picture or diagram of some sort that would be awesome. Also, does anyone that polishes their internal reel pieces use the red compound from Dremel? Should I grab something else?
  3. Just trim it an angle and it will be fine. If it gets to soft it will defeat the purpose. A bass grip will almost always be strong enough where the guard will flex enough to get your hook set.
  4. Happy Belated! Thanks for the great site!
  5. We use our crockpot once or twice a week. Pot roast, beef stew, barbacoa tacos, pulled pork. I love my slow cooker. One thing I don't like on mine is that the lid isn't fastened down. More heat escapes that way. It still gets the job done.
  6. I'm very partial to my Shimano reels but I do like my Smoke a lot as well. I use it on my flipping/pitching set up. Super light and a very durable reel. No complaints of it so far.
  7. I'm using a 7'1 MH St. Croix Rage rod with a Smoke SL100HPT (7.0) and 40lb Suffix braid. On the short side for a pitching rod, but it's light as a feather and gets the job done.
  8. I will try to do that for you OE. I dont have my BASS id with me otherwise I could see if I can extract it, or the text at least from digital bassmaster. If someone gets to it before me, thanks in advance.
  9. I don't drop shot much but this was a great article. This is a technique that I said in 2013 I will try and use more often. Hopefully I'll have some beauties to post from the results. If you haven't read that article though, get your hands on it.

Back on track. Good game. I took the boys to see Santa at Bass Pro so I didn't get to see all of it.
  16. That made me chuckle.

Turnovers killed us along with Cutler getting rocked. Oh well, 7-2 still a d**n good record so far. Hopefully we bounce back next week.

    Bearrrrssss! Another nice win!
  23. Boy I'd hate to be in that boat. The guy in the back trying to out cast the guy in the front....meanwhile you got 2 other lines in the middle..where are their lines going? Running depth of the crankbait would determine how much casting distance you need and there are alternatives to getting to those depths. Regardless, you'll be fine on either purchase. Get it supertuned by DVT or a reel specialist and you'll get the "max" distance the reel will allow without factoring in human control/error. Best of luck.
  24. There are way too many variables to consider. Lure weight, line size, reel maintenance, rod choice.... I have a 200E5, pretty much brand new still and it bombs my cranks. It casts as far as I would intend any of my lures to go. I can't speak on the LEWS, I have never tried or owned one. The better question to ask is what casting distance difference would persuade you to buy one over the other? Are you talking a few feet, or yards? I wouldn't be super concerned with it to be honest. Pick the reel that feels better in your hands or pairs to your rod better.
