  1. We were worried that one of those giant bass that you catch daily may have eaten you whole.
  2. I use an Avid 68MXF with a Shimano Symetre FJ 2500. I almost always throw with braid in the 8-10lb class. You can feel blue gill nibbling at the ends of the senko with that rod.
  3. Soft plastics. t-rigged..wacky...jika...weightless..drop shot.. You could throw a spinner bait, wake bait, buzzbait, poppers... Lots and lots of options.
  4. I looked at a whole bunch of skeet rods once, and the guides where so badly assembled on the rods that I've never picked one up again. Every single rod had crooked guides from the Skeet line so examine it closely before you buy. If that stuff doesn't bother you then go for it, good price.
  5. From my observation around the Chicago area.....I typically don't see them on beds until late April and into mid-May.
  6. I've used Vicious with no problems on my end and for the price I'd use it more. I also have used Vanish which I hated because it broke very easily and line management was pretty bad. Using Seaguar Red Label on one set up right now which has been pretty good so far, no real complaints yet. I am more of a braid guy anyway so the percentages of me throwing fluoro are a lot lower. Where are you breaking off at? Knots, mid line?
  7. Chronarch for me. Curado DHSV 300 a close second

Yea...but what i was told after pretty minimal use of it...the controlling the amount of water goes out the window and it turns to a bottom bait/slow suspending. If I find it on sale some where I'll get one, but not for $13 a crack. That's close to having 3 KVD 1.5's....

I too was interested in it...however I got a lot of feedback saying that it fills with water too easily and rules out the column adjusting. I may pick one up but I kind of strayed from the idea now. If you do get it, report back please.
  10. A few years back I had someone cruise by as I was pulling in a nice 4lb Largemouth and shouted out "What are you using?" I held up my hollowbody swim bait, and said a soft body swim bait. The guy's reply to me was, "Oh man, too rich for my blood"...and drove away. I didn't really know what to think of that answer. Obviously this guy doesn't know the price on some really top end bass fishing stuff. As for the OP, it's not bad etiquette It's nice to share some knowledge of the lakes. As long as you don't share it and then they park their boat next to you or cut you off from your path / vice versa...i don't see the harm. Some people just like to keep their "secrets" I guess.
  11. Midway through this season, I started losing interest in the show. I have had enough of this long...drawn out dispute on territory. I wanted to see them journey on and kill walkers, instead Rick lost his marbles, his son has bigger balls than him, and the Governor is like the terminator. They should have killed two birds with one stone and had Arnold be the Goveeeeeeenah. It better be one heck of a finale or no more for me. Game of Thrones starts Sunday, so all is good for me. GoT > all. Watching Vikings on History too, another good one.
  12. I would like to see Cabelas store supply a better stock of RT. Slim pickings on both style and colors. Love me some RT plastics!
  13. If you taped it down and reverse rolled it, it should work. Either way it'd be off the spool.
  14. Buy some PVC and cut it up into pieces....wrap it around that and rubber band it to secure it.
  15. Sufix 832, Sufix Performance, Power Pro. All 3 are great products.
  16. Any recommendations on a drop shot weight for very soft silty or mucky bottoms? Or avoid ds altogether?
  17. New to me: R2S - Clackin Craw Whiskey River Whip Tail SK Dream Shot
  18. I have nothing useful to add for your success but you should borrow 00Mod's GoPro and film your day. Would love to see some footage.
  19. On my lake, I have the best success in the late afternoon to early evening. 3:00-8:00 pm. My PB was caught just before the sun was off the horizon.
  20. You're comparing apples to oranges. 2 completely different types of lines. 832 is a great braid (probably the best I've used) and I highly recommend it. I have no experience with YZH, but it has very good reviews with BR members.
  21. Rooting for Clunn too. I really wish they (BASS) would pursue a new angle in broadcasting the live weigh-ins and more on the net. They are constantly delayed or not working. Believe me, it's better than waiting until aired but in this day and age they really should have this figured out now. It just must not be in their top priority to fix that.
  22. That's what I saw too. Didn't see anything as he was re-rigging the plastic and talking to the camera.
  23. Could have been this. I only saw it when they zoomed in on it really close.
  24. I think what you saw was the bullet weight and lure just reeled up to the eyelet on the tip of the rod. He had all his rods like that probably so it wouldn't get all tangled when making quick switches. Im not 100%sure sure but thats what i made of it.
