  1. Sanders is a babe.
  2. Its not just visual. They're fishing heavy pads and vegetation, where braid shines as it cuts through that stuff. The marker does help the cause visually. A fluoro leader is better if you fish rocks and wood for abrasion resistance. It is also near invisible, another perk. So the cover you fish would be the bigger factor.
  3. Is it me or does Tak sound like hes on the can every time he sets the hook?
  4. If it wasn't dug in i woulnt worry too much. When i was a kid I've had quite a few from camping. Never got sick thankfully. d**n things are every where.
  5. These are the posts that make this place shine! Thanks for the write up. I need to pay more attention to detail like this kind of topic right here on my boat.
  6. What? Don't be so quick to fire back at the people that operate this place. You'll have a short stay being that you're only 11 posts in. There is nothing "soft" about the BASS taking concern over the conditions. No life is worth the money or the fish they pull out of the lakes. And when you say the Pros are disappointed...they mean they are disappointed that the turn of events is keeping them off the lake, not disappointed in the decision made to keep them safe. Every one of those guys in that circuit respect the decisions that are made on tournament calls.
  7. 100,000 isn't worth life or death, nor is a bass. It was a great call and safety should be priority in any sports event.
  8. After this rain......the river is going to be ROARING. Hope everyone's sump pump is working.
  9. Pull the glasses off your face so they're not so jammed into your eye sockets. That will allow breathing room. Probably the best remedy for the problem. Con of that is keeping them in that spot and it allows light/glare from peripheral.
  10. Shimano Drag Star Grease. TW. $5.99 It'll last you a very long time.
  11. Playtex Spooks - Gentle Glide Series..ICAST 2013.
  12. Orange Belly Craw I believe...
  13. 1. Ranger 2. Strike King 3. Shimano 4. Sufix 5. Live Target To be honest, I'd appreciate anyone that is willing to sponsor me. If I had to wear a pink and purple jersey and do tampon ad's just to get paid....i'm all in. I'd have no shame if people are kind enough to pay for my passion of fishing.
  14. Congrats on your nice new shiny's!
  15. x2. I love lipless cranks and have caught multiple species on them as well.
  16. Good luck out there. Stay safe. Hopefully you find a better bite than the guys who fished that last one. Water will probably continue to rise as the lakes up north continue to thaw and the rain we're getting.
  17. I just looked at some video clips and images. Not good. Reported, limbs were blown off, nothing said of any deaths yet. I would post the link but I'm not sure they want that here.
  18. That's depressing.
  19. Dang...I'd like to fish some bluegill by you if that's the case.
  20. I have the Black. It's amazing from what little use I've done so far. Anxiously awaiting the fishing season to use it more routinely. Get the Black if you can afford it, it's worth it. You never know where this initial recording phase will take you. Wireless app works on Android as well. Lets you set up your POV which is really nice. Buy extra batteries though...wi-fi really eats them up.
  21. Despite all this interesting talk about distance.........accuracy is where casting really shines. That's what I *** about the guys fishing at the pro level. I'm sure there are a handful here that are pretty darn good with accuracy. Some of these pros can light a match stick with their baits if it where sticking out of a dock edge.
  22. 60 feet, 6 inches.
  23. Crankbait bills are designed to deflect off of rock and wood. Yes, you will get hung up from time to time, but it's the price to pay when fishing with cranks. There are lure retrieve tools on the market that do a pretty good job at recovering hung up crankbaits and more. Crankbaits are also effective being ripped through grass. Once you get into heavy milfoil or alike weeds, it becomes difficult to not get hung up constantly. You can fish a crank anywhere, but the key is to maintain contact with the bottom or whatever cover you're fishing them through. You will have much better success with this approach vs just trying to catch fish in wide open water touching nothing.
  24. I have the exact same rod that I use for wacky fishing with a Symetre 2500 FJ, however I use braid because I can feel the bites much much easier with braid. Maybe give that a try one weekend of fishing to see if you like the difference. I tie straight, no leader 95% of the time.
