  1. Sorry for the confusion. I edited my post.
  2. LOL good one.
  3. Off topic: One of my best memories ever about MJ. I was at a club downtown when I was about 22. When I walked in, there is a roped off section with MJ hanging on a couch smokin' a stogie and dancing with 3 blondes that were my age. We tried to buy MJ a bottle to meet him. His 7' bouncer wasn't having it. Topic: MJ was/is the greatest basketball player to ever live. His drive and commitment to the game will never be forgotten. When the bulls legacy teams split, I stopped watching basketball. It was never the same for me. Today it's like watching a street ball game at the local park. And that thing called "defense" doesn't exist as it once did.
  4. Pike will eat a bottle cap if you rig it up and throw it out there. Fast moving, flashy, vibrating lures work best with pike because that's what they like. I wouldn't be too concerned with pike while fishing with dead bait on the bottom. Will a pike eat it...perhaps but I'd venture to guess you'll have more activity from cats or bullhead. If you're really concerned, switch to stink bait or chicken liver. Chicken liver in my little catfishing experiences has always been the best producer.
  5. Dark colors like Junebug or black/blue work well. You could always add a rattle to it like you would a jig. That would help with sound and vibration.
  6. I frog fish a lot. Scum frogs are considerably lighter than a SPRO or comparable. So either you'll need to add weight or throw on spinning gear for a Scumfrog to achieve the same casting distance. That being said, I caught my PB on a white and green spotted Scumfrog in 2007. They'll catch fish. Since then, I have use Live Target frogs/mice, BPS Kermy, and SK KVD sexy frogs, which I like over SPRO brand. I'll have a Live Target on 95% of the time as I feel that is the best on the market. Purely my opinion. I have probably 30+ hollow frogs in my frog box.
  7. Practice...practice. If you're using braid it becomes a lot harder to achieve a walk the dog presentation than if on mono. I throw all my frogs on straight braid, and to be honest I don't even walk it that often. There are certain lures for walking...and just chugging a frog along has served me just fine. The trimming of the leg skirts helps some, but it's not going to perfect it. Your cadence and practice will be key. Keep trying.
  8. whoa. Id hooked up the biggest and heaviest treble and scrapped the bottom clean. That sucks. My condolences.
  9. Be an honest American. Fixed now.
  10. I'm a pegger. 95% of the time
  11. I was on the bank off 90 about 2 weeks ago. Current is fast, water is high and frigid cold still. I didn't catch anything nor did I see any signs of life. I'd expect it to pick up around May.
  12. 8 4.5" Rebel Minnows, 2 packs of SK Shim E Stiks, 1 pack of black VMC shakeyhead barbarian hooks................all for $25.00. Overstock April clearance.......few other good items up too.
  13. I fish mostly Shimano reels but I have the KVD Signature series reel and I have a Smoke. The Smoke reel is an excellent reel and has served me well. The KVD is ok...it hasn't let me down yet after two seasons. The reel has dual braking which I'm not really a fan of. I think if you maintain your reels properly that you will be just fine. If you treat your stuff like garbage...that is exactly what it will turn into. Like mentioned above, as long as you're happy it really doesn't matter. Quantum reels take a lot of flak here but everyone that I've ever owned has served me well. I'm either lucky or they just have a bad rep.
  14. I was trying to find you a *** video of one of the guys tying the knot. If I can track it down, I'll link it to you but so far I can't seem to recover it. It was quite some time when I first saw it so maybe it's archived or something. Keep practicing it, definitely worth while to know if you continue to use Fluoro.
  15. Well one thought is that farm ponds are there for run off and storing water, most of them anyway. The soil around/in a farm is loose and broken up yearly making erosion more common. I would honestly think a normal lake would clear faster but again...I don't know there is a 100% guarantee of either. Time would only tell.
  16. I, like a lot of people, don't want to pay the high prices of sunglasses. Not that they aren't worth it, but glasses are easily crushed, left behind, dropped in the lake, etc... So I choose to go cheaper so that if I destroy mine, it's not a big deal. Ironically, every cheap pair I own last an eternity. Every decent pair I've ever had, I've broken or are in a lake.
  17. I got my glasses today. Obviously I haven't gotten a chance to use them on the water but so far they look and feel great. The plastic frames are tinge on the flimsy side for my liking to be 100% honest, but it is a $40 pair of glasses. I got the S11 Atlantic black frames with Amber lenses.
  18. Fact of life. Get used to it young brother.
  19. Strike King- Sexy Shad, Chili Craw (or alike), Bluegill Red Eye Shad--- All depths. 1.5 Square bill 1-3 ft 4s- 6-9ft 3xd 10-12 6xd 15+
  20. No. Just a different method. Different strokes for different folks.
  21. Im another in the 30-65 depending on vegetation thickness. I use 40lb 832 90% of the time. Great braid.
  22. Buzzbaits will almost never run straight on. Because the prop is rotating in one direction it will almost always guide itself. Best bet is to cast off target so the bait guides it to the area you want to hit. You can try slightly bending the wire to correct itself but it is tough to get one to run completely straight. Some brands run better than others too.
  23. I use mono for topwaters withe trebles. Braid on all froggin setups. I've recently tried Trilene Armor Coated for jerkbait fishing and it perfomed very well. Im not a big mono guy but that stuff felt really nice. It was 8# in case anyone is wondering.
  24. I hear ya. I like it because i do a lot of slop and frog fishing so i can relate. Then again i love watching any bass fishing so I'm never really bored.I enjoyed seeing Hack pull up that big gator. That thing was not small by any means.
