  1. Sufix 832. 8-15lb on your spinning. 30-50 on your baitcaster. If you're a leader type, you can buy a cheaper spool of mono or fluoro for that.
  2. Second on the pfds and a throwable. I keep 2 in my boat, one in front and back. Get a fire extinguisher too. I believe that is a law in most if not all states. Until I started using BR, I never knew how much stuff Walmart carries. I don't shop there often if ever, especially for fishing stuff but I'm surprised to see how many guys on here use that place as their primary tackle spot. It must boil down to location and whats available. Anytime I have peeked at the fishing stuff in a Walmart around here it is usually junk for the most part.
  3. I fill 1/2 to 3/4 with a cheap mono of equivelant diameter to what I'm putting on and connect with uni/uni or Alberto. Save money and line.
  4. Props to him for landing the fish. What was ironic, the first or second commercial after that happened was for Duckett rods. I haven't watched any of the extended casts on these episodes but was anything said by Horton on what/why that happened? He didn't really say anything about it after he hand lined it in.
  5. Anyone work in the auto insurance business? At the beginning of March, I had a not so bright individual who backed her car directly into me without looking on a 3 lane road. She was cited on the scene but later changed her story to her insurance that I rear ended her. They didn't compensate my damage because they backed her story so I had to file my claim and pay my deductible. I went to court Wednedsay to make sure she plead guilty and the fine went through. She did, only because I was there I believe. So far, everything looks to be in my favor (I hope) but I wanted to know how long of a wait usually is it when insurance companies battle for things like this? I want my money back.....
  6. You have never been to White Cottage, Lou Malnatis, Gino's East... Chicago and NY are both loyal to their pizzas. I've been to a fair amount of places and nothing compares to Chicago Pizza (imo). You would think our neighboring state Wisconsin with the BEST CHEESE ON EARTH, would be able to produce a pizza but it's awful.
  7. Yes it was. Timmy Horton snapped it like a twig.
  8. I can't imagine pizza outside of Chicago.
  9. Straight retrieve and when it deflects give your rod a quick snap. You want to crash it off cover. Probably one of the most fun ways to fish in my opinion.
  10. Powell Diesels on wide open for $50 a crack. Go go go
  11. For anyone who enjoys Game of Thrones. Show us your house! www.jointherealm.com Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  12. You are more knowledgeable than your brother. I'd say 30 to 40 yards is average for most on bait casting equipment. No proof but just an observation that I see from most people.
  13. I'd never be in a kayak with man eaters swimming around that could easily have me for a snack. I sink like a lead ball too. I definitely would have had something exiting my body from each end if that were me.
  14. You NStar fans...what's the weed guard like on those jigs? Super stiff, medium, soft? I need a new batch of swim jigs and since these are highly recommended I think I'd like to try them out this season.
  15. My PB. You can see the Scum Frog in the mouth still. At the time I was using 8# fireline black on spinning gear.
  16. Yes you are. They will all catch fish...they all will perform very well. The Curado G's are fine reels, just a few differences from E's. Your spinning reels will perform great, especially in the world of bass fishing.
  17. I typically am on the trolling motor in my boat but I have no problem fishing from the back or on someone else's boat. I however don't like to go from a bass boat to john/row boat style. Once you get fishing up on a deck you become spoiled as much as I hate to admit that. That said, I'll still take a day of fishing in ANY boat over not fishing at all. I do pretty good at taking only what I need with me when going out with someone else. I rarely ever fish out of anyone else's boat anyway.
  18. No. The S11 all have name references as well. You can see some at Cabelas website. Here These are what I got from an Ebay store.
  19. BPS Kermy frog is half the price and equally as good. Take a look when you go.
  20. Awesome! They're delicious!
  21. Actually....i'm starting to shy away from using hook keepers as I learned the hard way. I had a jerkbait on one of mine with a lure wrap secured on it and the point from one of the hooks dug into the clear coat of the rod and fractured the clear coat. Nice sharp point on the lure....not good for the rod. It was a Mojo, which is double dipped in clear coat just like an Extreme. Be cautious of it. I'd advise not using the guide as you risk damaging that which could result in broke lines or further damage to the guide. Enjoy your rod. It's a beauty...keeper or not.
  22. Get cheese cloth and wrap it in there. Don't attempt to just rig liver to a treble or single hook. They'll slurp it right off. Cheese cloth is inexpensive and you can wrap it up on a weight treble and just cut it off as you need to replace when rebaiting it. Good luck and post some pictures when you catch a few!
  23. You missed bacon vodka.
  24. Cheese please. I love bacon as much as the next.......but cheese has more flavors, more opportunities. Also, the entire state of Wisconsin would be desolate if cheese was abandoned. Wait...that could be a good thing for us FIB's!
