  1. Ordered Monday, here on Thursday AM. RAGE-Aholic! I actually thought I bought more than I did, kind of wish I had.
  2. Frog fishing really has nothing to do with "feel". It's all sight unless you're in lala land and at that point you should be able to hear the hit. Some guys like Heavy because it provides a stiffer back bone to pull out of thick weeds. I myself like the MH/F because my particular rod has good enough back bone and it can cast a hollowbody frog a great distance. Heavy rods tend to lack some of the distance in casting. Pros/cons to both. Not all manufacturers ratings are equal, so keep that in mind. Hope that helps.
  3. A co-worker of mine and a guy I've been to Canada with built a reardeck extension on his Nitro Fish/Ski boat. He took the back row seats out, built a wood deck on hinges with two posts and rubber feet to sit on the base of the boat floor. Hinges where important as you could lift it up with relative ease and store equipment under it. Added a good 2-3 feet on the back casting deck and worked like a charm. If I can search out any pics I will try and find them. it didn't cost him very much in materials.
  4. Like some of the others mentioned, I use a 7' MH/F (St Croix Mojo) rod for my frogging as well. I fish in pretty nasty stuff and the rod does just fine getting them out. I use a 7:0.1 Curado E7, with 40lb braid. Sometimes heavier but 40 does well.
  5. Wake that kid up and stick a rod in his hands!
  6. The bass from my lake have yellow bellies year round. The lake has heavy vegetation and very mucky bottom. So to the OP, this is probably the case.

  8. Wayne, Could you show more pictures if available, of how you have your wires rigged up on the tm shaft and back to the electronic? I'd like to see how your's compares to mine, and I'm sure it's far better. Thanks
  9. I use a 5/o Gamakatsu screw lock.
  10. No problem! Get on their mailing list. Occasionally they have awesome deals just like this one. I bought about 55 bucks worth of Rage stuff or $17. STEAL!
  11. I officially tested mine last weekend and the same results. I had a cheap pair of Cabelas glasses and the difference was amazing. Very happy I got these and I will continue to at the price point they are. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone in the market for new shades. Great to be able to see all the holes in weed bogs and edges.
  12. Nice assortment of Rage products for killer deals on Overstockbait. May not have all the color selections, but there was enough natural based colors for me to pick up about a dozen packages. Happy shopping!
  13. Don't forget to slap him in the back of the head.
  14. Our lake started in the upper 50's and with the warm sun creeped to about 60 degrees. They'll be spawning very soon, we saw some cruisers. Most bass were hugging different cover where it was really dark (low light). Once we figured out how they were positioning it was pretty easy to find them. How did you do? Any pics?
  15. Way to go man. Sounds like a great day!
  16. We absolutely destroyed them. Best fishing on our lake in years. 5 guys and around 60 fish caught. Bass and pike but a lot of bass. 2-4lbers. One pushing 5lbs. The lake is only about 68 acres but it was on fire. Cranks, spinner baits, caffeine shads, and smokin roosters were the ticket. I will post pictures when I get on a computer. On my way home.
  17. I like to see the colors and pattern of fish. So I like the close ups personally. I could care less about size and what weight because most guys blow those numbers out of proportion. Just like the "i lost a ten pounder by the boat"........no, you lost a ten pounder in your head and more than likely it was a 5 or 6.
  18. Send it to Delaware Valley Tackle. BR member get a discount and his work mentioned here is outstanding.
  19. I know some musky spots that those would work well on. Just saying..
  20. Man do I miss Canada. Haven't been back to Eagle Lake since 2010. Most amazing place I've personally been too. Huge musky, giant football smallies, and enough pike to make you hate them.
  21. Did you try buttering it up with some KVD LL? I noticed the same thing when i initially spooled it, but a couple spray treatments and mine softened up nicely.
  22. Heading up to the family home in central Wisconsin. Weather now is absolute garbage but it will spike Sat/Sun up to the 60's. Hoping the increase in temp will fire a bite up. I know my lake is clear of ice but two or 3 hours north they still have inches of ice. That said, I'm guessing the water temps will be low 50's to be lucky. Sounds like a jerkbait, drop shot, swim jig kind of weekend. Finally I can shake this cabin fever. I'll post some results when I get back.
  23. All reels will need a little breaking in from being brand new. Cleaning the excess grease and oil would be a good first step. A few trips out though, i think you'll find that it will get better.
  24. I have used it a few times. I was able to land a 30" musky on 12lb regular. It has served me just fine but I hear all these bad stories of it snapping off. I tend to think these bad stories are more user error than line error. I switched to Seaguar Red Label. Nice alternative as I've had pretty good success. I only throw fluoro on my cranking rods, nothing else. I have yet to try the Elite from Viscious so that might be in my next TW order whenever that may be.
  25. Get a swimg jig and slow roll it through. Bluegill/perch patterns are killer. Add a nice paddle tail trailer or even a Rage craw and hang on. You'll get them.
