Cold "call" for permission?
Here in Virginia there are GIS systems available to find the owners of properties for all the areas around me. I have researched a few places and looked them up and reached out to gain access. I am not one to walk up to a house and contact a person but I have reached out via phone and had some success. Property tax records are public information. I never rely on word of mouth for access as I know if it was my property I wouldn't want people on it without permission. I also do not push the issue or try to sell my case if denied. It is a simple thanks for your time and if you change your mind please let me know and I give them my contact info.

Comparing warranty length on lithium batteries
except those aren't warranty items and st croix makes you pay for those types of issues or at least they used to. I haven't looked into them for a while but it used to have varying levels of "warranty" cost based on age and if you want to upgrade etc.. The only company I know of that explicitly states we don't care how you broke your rod it will be "warrantied" is Temple Fork. I had a fly rod break and I sent it in with the $40 payment and within a week I had a conversation and upgraded to a new rod by splitting the difference in cost.

Comparing warranty length on lithium batteries
Not sure this is accruate at all. If a company stands behind their product and knows it wil lperform as it should for X amount of years then extending a warranty adds minimal expense.

Comparing warranty length on lithium batteries
I also use an Ionic for my kayak battery and I had a similar experience. I had some questions about what I thought was an issue and their sales manager calld me on a Sunday to make sure i was good to go and wouldn't miss any fishing time the next week as I had a trip planned for the next day. The warranty is cut and dry and also I relaly like their Bluetooth enabled app to check charge levels.

Dynamic Dolly for us Kayakers?
These types of kayak "carts" have been around for a while. They work great but storage is an issue if you are a long ways from the ramp. Besides all that they are super expensive and i am not sure how much of an upgrade it would be over my wildy cart and i can't imagine it being 3 times as good.

Dogwood Tree Watch
guys in my neighborhood that are all grass crazy have been cutting it here for a month.....i haven't even thought about it yet. Might be because I know I have two lawnmowers that aren't working and I gotta get a new one.

Dogwood Tree Watch
we had that crazy warm spell that made everything start blooming then nights have been below freezing to put everything back to sleep. I am hoping to get out this weekend though so I can see what's going on as it has been way too long for me since I have wet a line.

“Gimmick” lures in tournaments
They fish with the weird stuff too but if it isn't a sponsor they sure aren't going to bite the hand that feeds them. A lot of baits are custom too

You inherit Warren Buffett's estate. What do you build or buy?
a few new schools for where I work, a jet boat for the rivers and invite @slonezp over to my new river house and he can bring the entertainment

Interesting article about livescope w/ Dobyns/Jones
These things always crack me up. I am guessing the same people who think FFS will ruin the sport also thought the snakehead were going to decimate bass populations, or that the world is flat or that the election was rigged or countless other unfounded conspiracies. If people are so concerned about this way of fishing then why bother catching fish if it is the process that really matters and not the catching.

How would you approach this scenario?
forget the fishing and go climbing instead

What would you do?
Debt to income ratio doesn't take into accounts that are not being paid on so the student loan thing is not accurate, I would talk to your lender about that. Financing a boat on a CC with the reason being your debt to income ratio not allowing a traditional financing route tells me your priorities are way out of whack. Get that debt to income ratio down and save up to buy a used boat with cash, you will be much happier in the long run and not have a ridiculous amount of CC debt to manage.

how much coffee do you drink?
I drink a 30oz cold brew m-f and rarely any on the weekend. If it gets cold I may do a hot coffee but if I have a choice and can handle it not being hot, cold brew it is for me

Super Glue
this is the right stuff for sure. Lasts forever and the bottle and nozzle prevent it from drying out prematurely. i use it for fly tying a lot and it may sit unused for a month or two and it is always good to go when I pop the cap off.

Update from the ON DNR about the 10lb Erie monster caught a few months back....
Not really a sad thing to me at all. It comes with the price of working with the outdoors to fit human needs. If you think otherwise then you need to stop fishing plain and simple becasue the impact over all to teh environment from a multitude of angles related to fishing has more of an impact than killing a fish that is obviously not going to spawn anymore and has gone through fish menopause.

Spinning Reels vs Baitcasters
Sounds like you are having issues with basic spinning rod use. Drag is super easy to palm on a spinning rod as is stopping a bait mid cast. People who prefer BC gear for super light baits are really trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist by using gear that isn't designed for said purpose and is also way more costly to achieve a similar result. Ultimately it is whatever you want to do and use though and to each their own. I don't see spinning gear going anywhere anytime soon, nor should it.

you buy any high ticket items and not use it?
only if you got a mail order one

you buy any high ticket items and not use it?
Nope. Pretty much everything I have I use at least a few times a year. If I don't, I sell it.

Trade in
I did it a while back when St Croix was also running a buy 2 get one free on their rage rod line up. Scored 6 rods for a pretty good price. I know the one near me a few years back basically had a deal where you could donate a kids rod and they would use that as a trade in as well. Rods went to local kids groups to get them fishing.

Does realistic shape matter in soft plastics?
because fish have three ways to check something out. One is their lateral line, two is their eyes and the third is eating it. Not like they have hands to examine it or check it out and their primary goal is to stay safe, eat and bang a few mama basses in the spawn. It may be food or it may not be but the only way to find out is to try to eat it.

The new TowNStow BarCart Kayak Cart
Having only scene this yak attack cart in pictures and video and owning the wildy cart for a couple years now I can say that the wildy cart is absolutely fantastic and handled my fully loaded and motorized kayak with ease. The kickstand on the yak attack cart seems like a gimmick to me unless i guess you are using the cross bar style. When using the other style you will just lay the cart on one of the bars and put the kayak on there that way, no kick stand needed. Yak Attack makes great products for the most part but I would want to see this one in person prior to purchasing.
