I have hated everything Metallica has done since the Black Album. The Black Album was OK, but the first four (five if you include the $5.98 EP) are what Metallica IS. Death Magnetic isn't that good, but it is better than the Black Album. I expected to hate this album, and find that I am digging it. There are tantalizing bits that are close to old school Metallica, and one song, Track 5 'All Nightmare Long' could be part of the first 4 albums. The songs are long, but I like that. I downloaded it, not wanting to buy another Load, Reload, or St Anger, but I'm going to Walmart tonight to pick up a copy. The only problem is the Drums again. It's like they are featured above everything else, and are too loud. The guitars should be in the forefront, with the drums more in the background. I don't think Lars' ego could handle that though... I give it 7 out of 10.

Try other walmarts. I dunno how it is where you are, but where I live is flooded with walmarts. I pass 3 on my way to work. They might be Yum Dingers, but I can't find where Yum uses the same colors as they did for Riverside...

Why did you buy so many cranks if they don't work for you??? I fish bandit 100s and 200s just about every time I go out, and they nearly always produce something. I would keep at it, this time of year the crank bite should produce for you (I got 16 today, the most all year just on a little Megabass Griffon). Go out with nothing but crankbaits, and throw them at wood, humps, points. Bounce them off everything you can.

Forget the lure retriever if you fish from land. It is a waste of money. I have two different kinds that have not retrieved one lure... If you want to fish cranks and don't want to lose them, then either use strong braid, or learn to swim. Try out a few Bandit 100's before you go throwing your $20 Lucky Craft into a snarl of branches though.

I've seen a lot of these come out (not intact) of the peace river in FL, it is either a Mammoth or a Mastodon jaw. Amazing find! Get with a professional on how to properly preserve it, now that it is unearthed it may begin to break down rapidly.

I listened to the clips of the songs. Sounds like metallica-lite is giving us another Load. Pun intended.

I've done it with OK results, but ever since getting Spike It dip and colors, as well as a good ol fashioned Sharpie, I don't anymore.

It seems like Merriman thinks he'll lose something if he gets the surgery... I don't understand what that would be... He will sit out a year - at full pay - and rehab. Certainly not exciting, but it should lead to many fine years of playing. Whereas if he plays this year, he is pretty much guaranteed a worse injury and more invasive surgery, a longer recovery time, and the possibility of never playing again. It is the same stupidity that my teenage son displays...risk the whole future for a little gratification now... Plain Old Young and Dumb.

I hit about 6 ponds with frequency, and the fall bite starts in early October for me... This is the only time of year I can consistently catch fish on a Chatterbait. Slomoe - Crazy avatar! Makes me dizzy. I mean dizzier...

I have a couple that I don't use. I was never very impressed with the bait, and never gave it much of a try... I'll take them off the shelf and give them a try next time out.

For me it depends on the situation. If it is calm and quiet I'll start off with a long cast with weightless plastics, and then work the area just with that. If there is already activity (boils, surface splashing, etc) I will rip thru the area with a spinnerbait or loud crankbait. A lot of times though, my impatience gets the best of me, and I end up throwing a crank first and scrubbing an area with it, and only resort to plastics after I've scoured the target.

Most of those are good (maybe not the storm wild eye baits or the matzuo baits...). That list reads like you went down the aisle at Walmart and grabbed a selection... Nice start for your tackle box though.
