  1. I got the best....RETIRED...living on a lake with the boat 10 ft out the back door...ah sorry, guess that is really not a "job" LOL CPR ;D
  2. 9.1 caught night fishing Devils Kitchen Lake near Carbondale, Il, caught on a home made single spin and #11 pork frog. I once had the Lake Norfork, Ar record for Stripers at 27 1/2 LBs caught on New Years eve of 1976, jigging a Sonar. I think the record lasted about 27 1/2 days LOL CPR ;D
  3. I used to guide on the Gasconade river in Mo. If you can throw a crank bait and want to catch numbers try a Rebel 1/5oz crawdad. There are several things to try on the back of a jig, like this http://www.pacacraw.com/pacachunk.asp CPR ;D
  4. I have never tried these, so tell me how. Do you actually fish them on top ??? how do you rig em ???what size hook, worm, line ??? Fishing technique ??? I have been catching a few fish on a pink super fluke, do you fish the worm similar in style and locations ??? I know I could probable find this info if I searched for it, but I enjoying the little things you guys do differently..Thanks for the info CPR ;D
  5. There are gators all over the place here. It is nothing on a calm evening to go out and see 19 to 20 between supper and dark. My neighbors grandson was on the pontoon behind the house catching shiners with bread and he had 3 gators there, The biggest was only 4 ft tho. They took a 13 footer out of here last year that killed a 12 yr old boy. I caught one abou a month ago on a devilshorse, he is the proud owner of the rear hook off me bait. CPR ;D
  6. Here in Florida where the water temp is about 90, we have been catching alot of fish and catching some real nice ones as it took 66lbs to win a team tournament Sunday. We are catching them on c-rigs where ever there is water running into the lake. We have had a lot of rain in the last week and the fish are stacked where it is running in. Good luck CPR ;D
  7. I think this depends largely on where you are located. I know you fish the deep clear lakes up north different than the hot dingy one down here in Florida. I would think plastics would be good in either even though deep here is maybe 10 ft. I know we have been catching fish here c-rigging just about anything you want. Good luck CPR ;D
  8. Those smallies will love a topwater Jitterbug in black. A word of warning tho, DO NOT set the hook a first sound, be sure to feel the fish first. My favorite night-time bait is a single spin with a #11 Uncle Josh pork frog. I like black with a frog colored pork frog CPR ;D
  9. I have caught a bass and I only have 1 eye..LOL...sorry CPR ;D
  10. No chance for me I fish for pleasure and these tourneys are too much work. I went out Sunday morning and caught 3 in 3 hours and then headed for the AC. At 3PM I decided to go down the street to watch the weigh in for the Federation Team tourney. These guys are not even pros yet, but I could not believe the number of 20 bags I saw along with a nymber of 7 and 8 lber out of water that is over 85 and in places approaching 90 degrees. THOSE GUYS ARE G-O-O-D CPR ;D
  11. Central Florida I have been c-rigging a tiki stick. took 66lbs to win a team tourny here Sunday...All came c-rigging whatever, as long as you was in running water CPR ;D
  12. First bug spray is a must, also clear everything out of the boat but maybe the 2(no more) rods you are going to use. Go to a lake you know well andmake sure you have someone with you. I fished Bull Shoals and Norfork for years at night and only used 2 baits, the main one was a single spin(homemadew/4 1/2 size blade) and a #11 U Josh pork frog..The other was a jig and pig. In both cases I used black/yellow or plain black and always the frog colored pork. Fish the spinnerbait slower than during the day. I liked to tic the bottom once in awhile. Good Luck and I know you will catch them. CPR ;D
  13. Plastic wiggle wart or shad rap
  14. Another thing that I do quite ofter is fish 2 buzzbait at a time,,actually I just fish 1 at a time but have two tied on. You can tune your buzzer to run to the left or right, so I tie one on that runs each direction When fishing the left side of structure(dock, log, etc) use the one that runs to the right and run it into the structire and vise versa. Hang on just as you hit that structure. It really works CPR ;D
  15. but there was no "reply" button on it. That probably was cause Glenn knew that I know nothing about a c-rig. LOL That was some really good advise, and I have been trying it out the last couple day...my problem is I can't find the fish. I live on a Fl lake that is bowl shaped, murky all the time ,no drop-offs w/a max depth of 12 foot, and almost 90 degrees. Where are they??? I have fished just outside the weed line(6 to 8 ft), I have found very little structure in the deeper water. Any ideas where I might try next??? CPR ;D
  16. ihave been fishn a zoom horny toad with some success, and it is unique because you can let it sink in the holes as you are buzzing it across t he top of the pads. I like to buzz it on to a pad, stop for a second and slowly bring it off the pad, let it sink, and hold on. The color I won't recommend becaise we are using yellow and I think that is probably a local fav. CPR ;D
  17. I think everyone else has given all the good advise, with one exception....that is...invite me to come fish with you CPR ;D
  18. and rule 6.4.3.68 says get the fish back in the water before it dries out CPR ;D
  19. I am new to this hurricane stuff and of course the Harris chain I live on is in the center of the state, but I did go out between the storms Saturday and didn't find fishing any easier than before, caught 4 small ones in a couple hours. I was not here during last summer's ; 'canes, but I live on a canel connecting to lake Harris and there was a big fish kill on this canel. Of course there was big fish kills all over the state due to the 'canes. Even though there was a fish kill here I did see some big bass caught in my canel this spring including a 10+ lber.that I did not catch. I did catch a 6 and 7 though earlier CPR ;D

  23. When I was up north guideing on the river I think I was about an 8, but I moved down here, got a new bass boat and live on the lake and fish almost everyday. The problem is I can't catch fish now and I am probably a 1...""HELP"" LOL CPR ;D
  24. I to love to fish in the rain, but these hurricanes and monsoons are redicules...of course that is the price I pay for the 80 degree days of January and Feb CPR ;D
  25. Welcome Dan...btw as long as the wife is buying tell her you want a new "Triton" They work good in La...LOL CPR ;D
