  1. I know there are exceptions but I wonder if the guy who fishes all day for that one bite catches bigger fish than the guy who boats 50 bass . Average wise yes but by the end of the day does he have the biggest bass caught more times than not ?
  2. I dont buy lures because a pros name is attached to it either but I expect a jig with Denny Brauers name to be superb . KVD and spinnerbaits , David Fritts and crankbaits...
  3. Or flukes .
  4. I bought one of those lure boxes . It had dozens of lures for just a few bucks. All junk . I dont remember catching fish on any of it but I probably caught a few .
  5. I added 10 more fish on a jerkbait , the last time I went fishing . I was well on my way to a skunking when I met someone I know and he clued me in . Total bass caught 1167 Spinnerbait 462 worm 177 toad 140 crankbait 133 beetlespin 84 buzzbait 63 lipless crank 46 grub 43 jerkbait 10 jig 9
  6. Thats right . I try to fish one day a week and I try to pick the day most comfortable to me .
  7. I like to be able to wear shorts and not sweat .
  8. I understand that . When I go south to the Ozarks its usually between one and two weeks . I like the convenience of coming and going fishing as I please .
  9. I imagine pros visit here often . "It's unbelievable how much you don't know about the game you've been playing all your life." Mickey Mantle .
  10. I would love to go to Stockton but I want a lakeside cabin with covered boat slips . Table Rock and LOZ is where I have went the previous few years and have not caught a big smallie . Did lose a couple at Table Rock that were pretty nice , maybe four lbers .
  11. My biggest spinnerbait bass came on one and also my first bass club win . I rarely use them now days except in muddy spring time water . Giant copper blade and a black skirt is the ticket . I'm beginning to think its a regional thing . Me you and bluebasser are the only ones on this forum who talk about using those hub cap sized copper blades .
  12. I didnt realize that I talk to myself when fishing , but you know how voices carry on water . Last year I ran into a couple fishing and they said they heard me saying " come on fish , bite"
  13. Muddy water where I'm from is a couple of inches of visibility and spinnerbaits are one of the best baits to throw . Bass will be shallow and tight to cover . Precise casting , no matter the blades is the main concern .The jig and pork in black and orange was a favorite when they were available . Strangely , orange spinnerbaits did not work but chartreuse did .I use larger than average blades .Like previously stated a large copper colorado or double turtle backs worked well but others will work too .I agree with jimmyjoe , we tend to use what has worked in the past .
  14. I have fished a lot of muddy water . I dont think blade flash makes that much of a difference . The two spinnerbaits I have done the best with was a Blakemore C.C. spinner that featured a large hammered copper Colorado and the Strike King Spin Dance with silver turtle back blades .
  15. I still have some old stock. One bottle unopened .
  16. I'm fishing from a boat and their are a several like this and they all hold fish . I try to hang back and work the outside first before getting my jig or worm wedged in the thicker sections . Thats exactly what happens to . I'm not snagging the hook the bait gets wedged in there . Once I move in to get it out the bass are spooked .
  17. My title is misleading . Weedless and snagless gets cross up a lot . It should have read "Most snagless."
  18. He was chasing a small buck . He didnt make it through deer season .
  19. A couple of recent trail cam pics . These were taken out of videos .
  20. I think my first bass are the ones in my avatar . Once again cane pole , bobber and worm in a cousins farm pond .
  21. I can remember the first fish I ever caught . It is one of my earliest memories . Dad set me up with a cane pole worm and bobber in a back water slough off the Mississippi river . I caught a little fish that Dad called a sunfish . It had a bright yellow chest and I thought that it was a little piece of the sun . 60 years later I still fish there . I caught bass both largemouth and smallmouth , crappie , white bass and sunfish there this past year .
  22. Just snagged 7 Hack attack's 3/8 ounce off a clearance rack .
