  1. The same lures that work everywhere else .
  2. I was referring to "Gay" Blade .
  3. I like the Cordell Gay Blades used this way. I speculate the only reason they are not more popular is because of the name .
  4. I do have a lucky baits though . It has a tendency to catch bass better than other similar baits . Cant explain why . I assume most people would cast it once then take it off . It doesnt have hardly any action at all but its been , by far , my top square bill of all time .
  5. Its looking more and more like its over .
  6. I have a brand new Clarus 7 foot mh and I hate it . It is tip heavy and I cant find a niche for it .
  7. definitely not finesse . I guess I'm a power fisherman .
  8. I can remember as a little kid seeing a power line like that . If I could have figured out a way to get all the bass lures dangling tantalizingly up there I would have . I use to do a balance beam act to get too baseballs .
  9. I only caught bass past 20 foot once this year on a Dredger 25.5 and that was during the fall time plunge of the thermocline . A few years ago I never would have caught those bass on a crankbait . Sometimes things just start to click for a slow learner like me .
  10. The reason I list presentation second is because I use to fish like this and I witness it most every trip . The angler makes an overhand lob cast at the bank at a 90 degree angle . It often lands on top of the fish and stays in the strike zone for a short percentage of the retrieve . Their success rate would sky rocket by getting the bait in the best position , quietly and at angles that keep the lure in the strike zone longer using low trajectory casting .
  11. I doubt that . I do know one lake extremely well , been fishing it since the 70's and can usually catch them pretty good . Other waters not so much .
  12. I havent been skunked yet but if I go again I expect bass to be grouped up and maybe in deep water .. Its going to have to be a light wind day because I will be in a jon boat with electric motor only . I dont like to fight the wind in that boat . But yeah , this time of year I find it best to keep on the move , fish the very best structure deep then move shallow and cover water. Often it seems like every bass in the lake are concentrated in one spot .
  13. I hold the rod in front of the reel , so I need foregrips just to get a grip .I found the Okuma Epixor with a nice foregrip . I liked it so much that I now have four .
  14. Watching pros like Andy Montgomery cast a bait in the tightest places makes me look like Fred Flintstone trying to cast .

I bought my first pre-rigged Creme worm from the neighborhood grocery store .
  16. I'm putting presentation second . I'm talking about putting the lure where the bass are , something that I work on and have a ways to go. If I could cast like Gerald Swindle , I'd put a lot more bass in the boat . Location presentation timing bait type bait color
  17. I went last week and the first thirty minutes of the morning I had five bass . I thought this was going to be a great day . It all went downhill from there .
  18. I'm a morning person . Havent used an alarm clock in years . Its rare the sun gets up before me .
  19. Heres my choice . An Alabama rig with a spinnerbait , buzzbait , crankbait , lipless crankbait , Texas rig worm and a jig attached to it . Then I just remove the one I want to use .?
  20. My old Zebco 802's had them . I thought they were great .

I had three of those reels . I used them upside down on spinning rods . An old man that I bowled with , that was all he used and his were getting in poor shape so I gave them to him . He used them upside down on fly rods . I took him fishing a couple of times . Hes not able to go anymore . I bet he has some Creme worms in his tackle box . .
  22. I think it was Brandon Paulinik at Chickamauga Lake who ran into this situation . He used an underspin to catch them .
  23. I was in the top ten until the last event where I had four anglers not make the top 60 . ouch!
  24. This could very well be my last bass of 2020 . Caught him minutes before a storm blew through and dropped the air temps by 20 degrees . Caught from a roadside culvert on a Beetle Spin . I was on my way to do a job , saw the storm coming , decided to stop at a place I know and try it .
