  1. I just realized WRB is the initials for world record bass .
  2. Caught this today on a 3/4 ounce Red Eye Shad in 24 foot of water. 6.2 lbs according to Rapala digital scales .
  3. Got em in . Canterbury Baylock Cox Lowen Crews
  4. Nope , fishing has been excellent .
  5. If you rig it a little short so that the bottom of the toad is slightly bowed like a boat hull it will come in right . If its bowed the other way it will come in upside down . If its perfectly straight it will do both .
  6. hmmm... I have never seen anything like that .
  7. I have a question for you . There are very few 8 lb plus bass around here . I've only seen two . Do you think that the biggest bass here that are a lot smaller than the ones you target , have the same habits ?
  8. ...and you left at 10:45 . Was your wife having a baby ?
  9. ^^ Thats a handsome bass right there .
  10. Bravo . You figured out what you wanted a lure to do and then made it happen . Thats one of the secrets to successful bass fishing . Keep connecting the dots , making decisions and enjoying the success .
  11. The Thin Fin was the first hard plastic lure I caught bass on . Back when I fished with spin casters .They later came up with the Rattlin Thin Fin . Heavier and cast decently with baitcasting gear . I have two of those . One has good action and the other doesnt .
  12. Not for me . A cold front blew through , high winds , nobody fishing . I got out yesterday and it was cold 38 degrees in the morning . Both my hands were cramping up , I was so chilled . I only saw one other boat fishing on the 250 acre reservoir . Bass were shallow and hitting spinnerbaits and even picked off a few with buzzbaits . I was working spinnerbaits right below the surface , Jimmy Houston style and witnessed every hit . My line broke on the biggest . I just got done checking my line but didnt do a good enough job I guess . The fish broke me off in a brush pile . Twice afterwards I saw it jump trying to expel the lure . It was big .
  13. I bought several flat balsa wood Lee Sissions thinking they would have the same tight action . For some reason they dont . I dont even take them with me .
  14. ...and deep cupped blades dont rotate very well as the front blade .
  15. I have been using dull skirts since post-spawn . Something like this or bluegill .The water here is clearer than it has been all year but tea stained .
  16. I wasted a bunch of money needlessly on spinnerbait materials . I have all kinds of blades that I will never use and and run out of the ones I do use . Did a lot of experimenting and I pretty much use the same balde configuration all the time now. A number two Colorado front blade and a 4.5 willow in back on a 1/2 ounce frame. What has been killing it for me and the only reason I made it in the first place was because I ran out of chrome and gold #2 Colorados, is a copper in front and gold rear . That combo has been a real slobberknocker the last three trips . Last three outings to the lake that spinnerbait has accounted for 101 bass .
  17. I dont use them much . The Bomber Flat A I use to throw all the time on the Mississippi river . It has a tight action ,sort of like using a diving Rattle Trap . Worked real well on the wing dams and rip rap banks . I rarely use them in lakes , no reason why , I just reach for something else .
  18. I should change all the hooks on my Berkely Dredgers to cheaper ones . I keep hooking myself with them .
  19. I caught a really big bass under a school of carp that were sucking on the surface . Tied a floating jerkbait and ripped it through the carp trying to snag one when the bass hit . Gar too . I routinely catch smallmouths in the same areas occupied by gar .
  20. Carp are so spooky that I imagine bass are use to their goofiness . A month ago I spooked a grass carp in a shallow cove and it slammed into the bottom on the aluminum boat .
  21. I like the removeable skirts with the built in collar . If it doesnt want to stay on very well then a drop of super glue holds it on while still being removeable .
  22. I picked Lester in B . On another site web-site , he list Guntersville as his favorite lake .
  23. Livesay weighed in a largemouth , spot , smallmouth and meanmouth
  24. one mississippi , two mississippi...
