  1. Well , its over . Didnt tear them up but caught fish every day with a few keepers . Got five inches of rain one day and the next day it was cold and windy . Didnt fish those two days . Everyday was different . One day worms , one day swim baits , one day a Rapala FatRap , and the last day jigs on docks .
  2. First time catching fish on a Toad .
  3. I'm in Northern Missouri and have thrown them in November before . They seem to work better in cold water during autumn than spring .
  4. Same thing I use all summer . Same shallow lures same deep lures . Crankbaits , spinnerbaits , buzzbaits , texas rigs and jigs . Usually one of those .
  5. The buzzbait has a much , much higher hook up percentage , at least for me .
  6. Didnt fish yesterday . Got five inches of rain . Now its 40 degrees , still raining . Maybe Ill get out this afternoon .
  7. Academy had the cammo H20 rods for 23 dollars . I bought two of them . My local Farm store has Quantum Qx36 for thirty dollars , I like that rod . It handles well , bends in the right spot and light weight . Its in my starting lineup . Keep an eye out on rods , capable ones can be found inexpensively .
  8. Are you looking for a reel or a combo ?
  9. I was told 6.3 lbs
  10. I went and tried shallow water and docks this morning and blanked . Fished some deep points and blanked . Went around the bend of one point and caught a dink . A few minutes later I hooked into a big fish . I thought it was a catfish . Got it to the boat and it was a bass . I went to lip her she jumped and threw the Jelly worm . That was it . I'll try again tomorrow , weather permitting . That bass was 6 to 7 lbs and I was thinking , got to get a picture of this to post on Bass resource . LOL
  11. I like lizards a lot . The only reason I dont fish them more is I have so many worms I need to use up . I won several thousand dollars in a two year period fishing nothing but electric blue lizards .
  12. Man , I struggle at dock fishing . Today was the first day here and I caught ten bass . Only one was over fifteen inches . It was a three lber caught 20 foot deep on a point . The back end of coves are full of shad but the only thing I caught there were dinks . I'm in the Little Niangua . Tomorrow I'm heading upstream and fish some shallower water and docks .
  13. I removed all the dividers out of a plano , then put two or three spinnerbaits/buzzbaits in plastic bags {actually they are tag covers for fire extinguishers} and tossed them inside . It takes a minute to find the one I want .
  14. I thinnk the bottom is a Bomber waterdog . It has the round lip .. Hellbender has a forked lip .
  15. Maybe he is getting tired of coming in second .?
  16. Most of the time I Texas rig the things, Dingers mostly. Really dont know why they work so well. About the only time I go weightless is on top of mats . They have been my hottest lure during august and september this year .
  17. Berkely dredgers are smaller than other lures that dive the same depth . You could get one of each size , cover 6 to 23 feet and take up little space . Add a couple of square bills and you will have it covered .
  18. What would be the deepest water you want to cover ? There are lots of baits for 10 foot and less , deeper than that there are fewer options .
  19. Watching the last Elite event crankbaits were a big factor . Landing those smallmouths by hand with two sets of trebles in it was tricky business . Bass should to take the anglers safety more seriously and allow them to net their own fish .
  20. With all the whopper plopper talk on here I went out and purchased the berkely version because thats whet the store had . I'm a buzzbait fanatic and use it in and around heavy cover but I'll give the Choppo a try when I'm in less snag prone waters .

I use a lot of out of production baits but quit recommending them because people cant purchase them anyway .
  23. I'm just going to go down and wing it . Last year I went to Table Rock for a week , watched fishing report videos , studied maps ... When I got there instead of doing things my way I tried these other tactics and it just didnt work . I dont want any pre-conceived ideas ,I'll play it be ear. I do better that way .
