  1. In all my years of fishing I have never located an under-water spring .
  2. I'd be chunking a spinnerbait .
  3. Get some crappie jigs and try to catch anything . Bass will hit it . One of my largest bass ever was caught on a yellow Marabou jig right after ice out , from a pond .
  4. How does a bass's brain interprets light waves ? Who knows . I have bought lots of lures based on how I like the color pattern . Yellows and chartreuse based patterns have been real effective, thats all I know .
  5. I use regular off-sets most of the time .Generally I choose one with the gap a little more than twice the thickness of the bait .
  6. Wind stirs things up and decreases visibility . The entire food chain in the shallows become more active . A spinnerbait can cover water fast . Its just a good combination .
  7. Hard telling . I didnt have much success with white and a large copper Colorado . Because of this thread I'm going to make a couple of black with a large copper Colorado for next spring .
  8. I use to use them a lot during the day . I dont know why I stopped , they worked well . Won my first club tourney using a black bait with a big Colorado copper blade .
  9. I tried G;ow sticks and the cord kept wrapping on them and hanging up . LOL Its a good idea but I'll have to do it differently .
  10. come on man , make some glow in the dark marker buoys .
  11. Come on man , make some silent Dredgers .
  12. Plastic worm .
  13. It depends how you want to use the lures . The Drdegers go "deep" get there fast and stay there long . The deepest I ever caught bass on a diving crankbait was at 22 foot with the 25.5 . Pick the lure that runs deeper than the depth being fished . The 17.5 hits that productive summertime 12 to 15 foot mark hard while using 12 lb Big Game and a long cast .
  14. I think classic champions and anglers of the year can get legendary status , if true Jordan can get in that way . I imagine Qualifying through the Opens would be difficult for anybody .
  15. The only one I have used is the Dredger .I have had good luck with every size except the 8.5 .
  16. I've caught a lot of bass in the summer on blade baits but not until this year have I caught them in the winter . That last outing proved to me that they are a must have when water temps drop into the low 40's .
  17. Heres a trick I came up with for fishing the Stanley Ribbet . First , when reinserting the hook do it a little bit short which causes the belly to bow down slightly ,like a canoe . This will negate the bait from flipping over and coming in upside down . Also I punch out these little rubber disc from a bicycle inner-tube. Place one on the hook before reinserting the hook in the toad . Place the point in the slot then position the disc against the body . Skin hooking will not be necessary . Its just enough pressure to keep the hook positioned and also slide down easily during a hook-set.
  18. They could draw names out of a hat and come up with the same conclusion .
  19. Me to . They are delicious .
  20. I have not had any more success with 4 inch worms than six inch ones . A 6 inch Jelly worm , Phenom ... are finesse enough and I have bit them down to four inches .
  21. I do a lot of woods walking , some small game hunting and if the weather is mild and the ground not frozen , I'll do some metal detecting .
  22. The interview is over an hour long , I'm not going to sit through that . What were some of the highlights ?
  23. Fletcher coudnt keep up with the wolves in the Elites .
