  1. They were doing this a lot at the Bass Elite tourney on the St Lawrence river last week . Looks pretty easy .
  2. Purple and its many variants like pb&j , elec blue... have long been my most successful soft plastic colors .
  3. What small bodied cranks do you get to go that deep ?
  4. I'm still going to be targeting high percentage areas [ cover and structure] so my lure choice probably remains the same .
  5. Last again . Among all members who have played every week, I am dead last . Havent picked a single angler who finished an Elite event in the top ten . Did get one during the classic . LOL We have one guy in our group that is 15th overall . Good luck to Bigfishadventures78 . keep it up .
  6. I usually keep enough to feed my wife , son and I . Several years ago the Mo,Dept of Cons. wanted to thin out a lake and made it 12 fish daily creel and no length limit . I accumulated 36 bass and 72 fillets . My brother had a hamburger bar b q and invited a good amount of people . I brought my 72 fillets and deep fried them . I had compliment after complement on how good they were . They disappeared fast and my brother had lots of hamburgers left .Kind of ticked him off . LOL
  7. Bet that was a tussle . That fish looks powerful .
  8. I prefer not to listen to music . I listen to cardinal baseball if I have a radio .
  9. I use to throw spinnerbaits , crankbaits and buzzbaits with limited success . it wasnt until I learned how to fish a texas rigged plastic worm that I started catching fish consistently . It was a game changer . After that I became a better angler with the other lures as well .
  10. Pitching is a lot easier from a raised deck . I do it a lot from a john boat , so I'm standing at water level with gun-wells in the way .In that case a heavier weight is needed , at least for me it is . I like to use a 1/4 ounce weight and a Senko type worm that has a lot of heft to it .
  11. According to Bass Trac Kolby Kreiger is in 30th place . If we were going by MLF rules he'd be way out in front with 77 lbs .
  12. Thats why I always finish near the bottom .
  13. Me too . I have a 6'6" med light bait caster ,Shimano Compere , that I refuse to fish anymore because of the amount of lost fish .
  14. Many moons ago I bought some mushroom heads with a wire guard . I dont know the brand . I used them with half a stick worm long before I heard of the Ned rig . The only reason I used the stick worm " Luck-E Strike Jogger Worm " was for the added weight , so I could still use a baitcaster. I still have and use those jig heads. Used it almost exclusively for river smallmouths .
  15. I dont recall ever catching bass with the bait fouled up .
  16. Me too . Crawfish Rattle Traps .
  17. I didnt know Lunker Lure made a twin blade . Are these parallel or one in front of the other ? Mister Twister had a twin blade one in front of the other . I had a couple of those and liked them a lot .
  18. They are all about the same . I dont like the thin wired baits , because they bend out of shape and break too easily . I use home poured ones the most .
  19. Describe your rod n reel combo .
  20. Never trapped them but seined bunches of them .
  21. When I take a jon boat fishing i get out the measuring board ,a marker buoy , fish grip and rig the camera with a tripod before making my first cast. I want to be prepared , dont want to hook myself ,want to mark the spot while fighting the fish and get a picture a of a big one as quickly as possible .
  22. Have you noticed that too ?
  23. Looks like smoke with some flake .
  24. Heres what I noticed about the videos . When playing I see double blades .Two forward and two rear .When paused i see single blades .
  25. I'm not superstitious at all except when the owls start hooting . Ir seems to me that whenever the owls start hooting fishing picks up even if its in the middle of a bright sunny day .
