  1. I have the 5 dollar luggage scale Yesterday I purchased 6.40 lbs of pork steaks . The luggage scale weighed it at 6.45lbs . Thats pretty accurate considering the packaging adds some weight . Use a fish grip with it .

A color that is hard to find ,I have only had two packs of them in my life , is bright lime green . I had a pack of fliptail worms that color and went through them in like an hour . Then I found a pack of some off name brand in a clearance bin once and went through them in one day . Its a small sample size but they worked well .

I like purples greatly . Its my lucky color and has been for decades . Worms , craws and lizards in all water conditions . I use other colors but purple's are number one . That includes electric blue .
  4. Do you know the water temp ?
  5. My nightime lures are plastic worms , spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and crankbaits the same lures I use most of the time in sunlight . I have a big old wooden black Musky Jitterbug for night fishing but never caught a fish on it .
  6. I learned as a kid that I could not spool up a spinning reel or spincast reel without creating line twist . So whenever I restring one of those reels I "always" walk it out in the grass afterwards and reel it back in . That removes the line twist .
  7. Thanks for the info . I will definitely check it out .

I like straight tail worms a lot but have trouble with line twist . I still use them a lot . Now , a curltail like the Phenom rigged with the tail pointed down pretty much eliminates twist .
  9. I have been unsuccessful fishing deep at night , I dont understand why . One thing I notice is my depth-finder shows all kinds clutter , it doesnt look the same as in daylight hours .. Really weird . Can anyone explain that ?
  10. Are you fishing where the lure gets snagged ? If not you could rig it with the hook exposed . I fish soft plastics a lot with exposed hooks in areas where the snags are minimal .
  11. I never read the book but Fishing Facts magazine had a lot of articles about Buck Perry and Spoonplugging . Never tried it myself . Looks to me like it would be a hassle , getting snagged a lot . I watched two in a boat doing it at Mark Twain lake and they were catching bass . I talked to them for awhile and they stated they do it successfully in lakes all across Missouri .
  12. I need a cabin with a covered dock/slip .

    All of them .
  14. Its several months away but the wife and I are planning to spend a week at LOZ this Sept . Is there an arm of the lake that sees less pleasure boat traffic. I have a 22 foot Lowe but would like to avoid as many boat wakes as possible . If it was solely up to me , I would go some place else but the wife has never been there and wants to go .
  15. Reminds me of all the post that people have made about bass jumping all over the place but they wont bite . Sometimes you just have to ignore them , go about business like they are not there and concentrate on nearby high percentage spots .
  16. I just noticed something . I have not had one angler in the top ten during the Elite events this year . I did have one in the classic . Sheesh ! Maybe I'll do better at Fort Gibson
  17. Cobb was pulling those lunkers out on several different techniques . It seems like every adjustment he made was the right one. I was impressed .
  18. Are these counting all the people who are in fantasy fishing ? I dont see it in our group or Tackle warehouse group .
  19. Sticks out . The opposite of a cut . jut /jət/ verb 1. extend out, over, or beyond the main body or line of something. "a rock jutted out from the side of the bank"
  20. Thats not the lateral line , its just blotches .
  21. After the plastic wears out it is easily removed .There will be some super glue residue left that can be scraped off with a knife . I use Loctite Gel .
  22. When I first read WRB's writing about the Life Zone , a depth where most of the bait fish seem to be , I immediately went out and applied that info . It works . When fishing the bank , junk fishing ,I try to pattern bass by paying attention to whether the bass are coming from cuts or juts . Some days they are in pockets [ cuts] whether it is weeds , the bank, tight in trees , back of coves ... Other days they are on juts , points , the end of trees , mouths of coves ... Pretty simple , just go fishing and pay attention . That might change during the day .
  23. Fishing shoreline cover or off-shore structure .
